I found this on MSN JP: "Weeds Fire at Fukushima Daiichi site". The news was dated 2012.Oct.19 @ 16:48.

"On Oct. 19 around 11am, employees on patrol discovered the weeds on fire within the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant owned by TEPCO in the town of Ookuma, Fukushima Prefecture. The fire was extinguished shortly before burning about 400 square meters. No injuries. According to TEPCO, the weeds on fire located near the facility that transmits electricity of Unit 1 and Unit 2. The facility was destroyed by the earthquake and is currently not used. Futaba Police is investigating the cause of the fire."
I don't know if this is related to the heightened radiation here now. Also, we don't know whether it was weeds that were burning or something else more serious, considering how honest TEPCO has been.

Again, I don't know if this is related, but the lady blogger from Minamisoma, Fukushima (the one who published the photos of her what looks like radiation illness) wrote on Oct. 19, 2012 that she just spoke on the phone with someone who lives in Kita-Kyushu city and learned that the radiation there is at 0.14 micro sieverts (/hr) since they started burning the disaster debris.
Kita-Kyushu is located on the Kyushu Island (southern big island of Japan). It is over 600 miles from Fukushima. They could kept the island clean for Fuku victims to relocate. Instead, greedy politicians opened arms to accepting and burning the radio-dusted debris.
Debris burning is now being done in cities all over Japan. JP Gov't plans to continue for 2 years. Think about the amount of poisonous plumes which eventually will fly across the Pacific and land here. The country of Japan is now an environmental terrorist, I'm shamed to say.

Majia and Nuckelchen I am very worried too; moreso than my regular state of panic. I am not sure whether to try to spark major hail mary visits to Californa governor/senators yet. If the effort gets lost in the elections it won't work and I won't get another shot until January but if I wait will it be too late? Ugh.

Remember that the fires burned during the summer of 2011 and then again in Nov 2011 through Jan 2012
No warnings were given.

Wow, was watching what occurred to be flames on unit 4. Just watched as crane lowered something and then picked up glowing red square..it was moved over and out of camera shot, to the left of the big vent stack.. hope someone else saw..and can enlighten me as to what the hell that was..

Unfortunately I couldn't find it now, but there's also a closeup of one of the orange squares where the image caption calls it "radiation shielding", however how it's supposed to work isn't clear to me – generally only concrete, lead and tungsten are considered shielding materials, and those squares seem to have cloth-like orange flaps. But if it makes them feel better about the situation, sure…

i had worked the burnt area out from every satellite-picture that i found in my back-ups.
and zoomt the captures with 'photozoom Pro 4'.
then i mixed them together into a slideshow,
first the picture that tepco had brought up shortly after the burning @ voltage-switch-station 1/2
then follows all the older satellite pictures.
the slideshow closed with some photos from grounds that had burnt down.
but poorly not in fukushima daiichi.

Initial observation:
It's very bright, seems too bright to be a reflection. It almost a hot glow. Appears as though there's nothing there to really reflect off of either.

I see the flare coming from the green dragon, but in the minutes leading up to 10:17 jst clouds pass and the 'reflection' dims and/or goes out. At about 10:20:30 the 'flare fades out as the sun changes angle.
Something's reflecting. (speculation, opinion only)

How about those big rectangular sidewall add-ons they are affixing to Unit 3? Check the crane work at 1:30 in the same clip.

This stuff is continuously releasing.
As the clouds pass quickly in front of the sunlight it creates a momentary visual effect.
Even at normal 'live' speed whereas one can see the translucent gaseous emissions 'belching' and 'puffing'. At the faster 20x recorded speeds it really shows up.
Mostly from 'the pit' at R3 and all over the exposed floor of R4.
Sometimes from the right corner of R2 and who knows what from R1.

It is as tough as usual to watch, not knowing what to concentrate on so going back and forth.
Flash at 02:53.
First minutes, the green dragon and the crane in the background first appear inverted, with the crane in the foreground, before green dragon. That doesn't make sense and I peer and peer and see it coming back to what it should be, crane behind.
Since it looks meaningless, I concentrate on the crane behind the tower, From 03 :30, the crane behind the tower moves extremely slowly between #3 and #2 first up and then back and forth. Then seems to stop and goes again at least up to 14 :00.
I come back to the first minutes and concentrate on the base of the tower. I see shadows, or whatever, hovering, bottom left.
In the same area, just at the base of the tower, there ‘s a green glow, sometimes like a green rod is in front of it. Later, it either merges with the chimney or looks like some plank or tarp. By the way, the towers are chimneys, or aren't they? Tell me please.
Then I spot some machine behind the tower at 05:35 seems to be digging towards the left of the tower.

@ChasAha we all understand that it increasing so let me make it very clear since some people have cognitive dissonance:
Our children have been breathing in Fukushima radiation for 20 straight months in addition to anything else they are exposed to. There is no ETA for containment. At some near point their symptoms will need attention. It took about fifteen months for Fukushima pediatricians to admit there was a serious problem but now it's to late for a lot of those kids. Knowing, as specifically as possible, what is in the air at what time will help people make healthcare decisions more clearly.
I don't know if you have kids or grandkids but right now you need to find out what info you need to take to the pediatrician in case your kids nose starts bleeding during the holidays or there are immune or thyroid related incidents noted at school. Parents of infants and small children need to know what is happening. America is almost at 24 months of straight, and increasing, radiation exposure.

Before that, by 09 :00 on the 26th, there’s already a lot of crane activity around #3 as well as human workers activity on #4. (They’re always in our hearts.).
Tepcam reports until 09:55:59.(Then, two missing hours(from 10 to 12) followed by 8’’ and 10’’ videos from 12 to 14.
Then again from 14 :00 to 16 :00, two missing hours followed by 9 and 8 seconds videos.
Then Tepsham becomes quite confused and reposts 16 :00-17 :00 and 17 :00_18 :00 respectively 9’’ and 8’’ videos
twice but after dinner, I come back to finish this, and when I refresh the page, I see they have corrected that mistake! I should have kept a picture of it.
In short, many missing hours and intense activity. Smells terrible.

Flashes of light continue at the upper left corner of R3.
Colored emissions can also be seen around the same area.
The screen is extra grainy tonight.
(Indicates to me high rad levels.)
I can also see the purplish rising emissions on the right corner of R3, near the taller rubble. I've been seeing that increase over the last several weeks.
The R4 'open air' Fuel Pool continues to steam. If you want to call it steam. The same sort of purplish rising wavy waves.

@ChasAha Thanks for your observations. I've been watching that flashing light on R3 too and wondering what it actually is. It looked very 'hot' there the other day which I highlighted by posting this link: annel&list=UL
The lighting in that general area looks so bright that I was wondering if it might be energy given off, like a light bulb would be lit up? I've no idea if that is possible as I have no associated science knowledge to back this us. Just speculating ………….. I wish we had some technical people/engineers who could post to enlighten as to what is/might be happening. All I know is that it looks very scary there.

My observation:
When the 'cool' fog rolls in it starts cooling anything hot. That's when the steamy emissions begin. Then, the fog rolls out but the cooling steam/gaseous emissions continue which allows us to see the 'hot' spots.
I think things are getting hotter overall.

To nitpick, this is a common erroneous assumption, Cherenkov radiation is effectively only visible in water. Blue glow anywhere else is produced by entirely different phenomena, the excitation of nitrogen atoms (of which most of the air we breathe is composed of). In case of radiation, neutrons are typically the culprit, but this is also why electric sparks for example are predominantly blue.
There are at least two strong reasons to believe the blue hue is not due to neutron-excitation of nitrogen atoms, however:
By the time you see the blue glow, you're dead. We'd be reading reports of mass-fatalities of Fukushima workers if neutron radiation was painting the sky kilometers away.
The coloring is too even, generally speaking the neutron flux would be escaping from a single source defined by any shielding materials nearby centered on the reactor itself. Ie. for example a beam from a crack in wall. In the video the blue hue is evenly everywhere, regardless of distance or angle, so yes it is some sort of filtering effect and nothing to do with Fukushima itself.
Personally, I suspect the culprit to be night and a tyically poorly tuned white-balancing algorithm. The pixelation of the image is worrisome at the beginning, but the image quality of the live web-cams and particularly transcoded versions of the streams that it's possible to imagine seeing just about anything in them.

There is no immediate concern.
This is a common occurrence that happens at daybreak and sunset. The TBS feed does some sort of camera filter change over.

I wonder if anybody is storing raw stream of the Fuku-cams? Just throwing this in air, I'm not sure I should ask or anyone who is doing so should be answering for, hm, obvious reasons. And I don't mean the youtube clips; every time the image is transcoded (translated from format or service to another) the errors contributed by last transcoding are enchanced and new ones added. By the time the raw stream reaches us it's been transcoded a few times, but that's the best we've got now.
While the urgency is much less now I think it would be good to have the raw stream archived for historical and evidence purposes. By all rights TEPCO should be archiving the original less compressed footage, but tbh I would count on them to have a "hard-drive failure" if it came to needing it. Are there any arrangements we could be doing for this, even this late in the game?

Sounds like a good idea (backup up Tepco camera footage) and I am sure some really OCD geeks are doing it all around the globe. Good for historical use for sure.
But as for future use to punish the perpetrators…dubious value.

There are other standards of evidence beyond "legal", and by this I don't mean to imply public lynchings. For example the very thing that brought that comment on (besides having been thinking it for ages, of course) was that people are posting links to all sorts of videos on this forum calling it proof of one thing or another.
But to be honest, the image quality is such it is impossible to tell if what I am looking at is smudge or water droplet on the lens, reflection, compression artifact, photoshop filter or Godzilla. The original raw stream would go someways towards answering that, although as said the original raw stream is really poor quality too.

SP: The emissions from Unit 2 are possibly from some splattered fuel fragments smoldering inside the lower building.

At 14 minutes in on the recording or about 1:28+ on the Tepco screen jst screen clock it's really emitting.
In my opinion, there is no way anyone can accurately measure the amount of radiation contamination polluting our atmosphere. There's just too much of it. These videos pretty much prove that.
Slowly, but surely, this monster's breath gets hotter.

The upper right corner of R3, where the tall pillars of rubble are, there seems to be a lot more 'emissions'.
I have noticed the increase there recently, but it looks heavier at this time.
Multiple rainbow colors of gaseous(?) emissions also pouring from the left corner 'the pit' area of R3.

We've seen BIG SMOKE plumes from that same 'exact' location before.
I checked for comparison the Tepcam view.
Guess what?
Verified! The smoke does appear on the Tepco cam view.

At 7:05 in on the recording or 10:14:17 (hr/min/sec) on the Tepco screen timer gray/black smoke will appear from the upper left floating toward the stack on the left. It can be seen for about 10 seconds.
