UPDATE (via Nuckelchen): “Please note the ‘jst’ time of your observation. Also, describe as best as possible, what you see. Using North, South, East, and West to describe locations. Be specific whenever possible. This may sometimes be the ONLY record we have of such events.”

That confirms my opinion that all the wavering and shimmering we see on the web cams is caused by heated air which distorts light. Any source of heat would have the same effect, but in this case the heat source is radioactive elements.

Odd daytime Sky Flash followed by a falling dead bird.
I am assuming the bird is dead. It may have only been slightly injured. I can only hope.
I noted this yesterday, but I did not notice the bright sky flash until reviewing the recording. That it's immediately followed by what appears to be a 'nose diving' bird is telling us something. hmm…?

Not much work going on by plant workers on November 13. No activity at Units 2-4. Some crane work at 1.
Possibly the plant radiation levels are surging. The atmospher looks pretty fuzzy from the camera.

I don't know if anyone reads Stephen King books or seen movies, but when the large crow starts to circle it's never a good sign.
The large bird comes in from the right, crosses, comes back and flies the circle of death directly above units 1 and 2. There must be something dead there and now the crow will be suffering soon too.

i'm with you all the time but at last only with reading your posts and with "background-workings" like last week with the steam explosion at the crane.
i loaded me down the video and switched frame per frame and after it i saw, it must be some foam on the waves and some quick-rushen-birds.
but as an european i'm a bitly nervously about the police clashes here around.
so i spend some time on making weapons from nature like "steinschleuder" or something else.
but as simple a stupid "steinschleuder" is builded, you must calibrate that piece of wood too.
like a heckler and koch automatic, loel.
now i'm able to shoot from 100 fts into a birds eye,

Yep,Saturday was busier than I have seen in a long time, followed by the usual 'day of rest' on Sunday. The reconstruction of R4 sure is taking a long time. Let's hope those big EQ's stay away from the region, but there have been some 6+ ones recently in the ring of fire though relatively quiet around honshu.
The new lighting now on the Tepcam night viewing looks very blurry, which is probably intentional and the TBScam has been down for well over 24 hours now (error occurred, please try later………).

I was looking at a recent photo of Chernobyl, Pripyat, Ukraine and it was a bit overcast in the photo.
For comparison purposes I wondered what it might look like if I ran it through the Photo Editor Filter like I have previously done on the Web Cam screen shots of Fukushima Daiichi.
Here's what I saw.

Looks like something is venting heavily off to the side to me.
Did Chernobyl have a spent fuel pool?
Something sure looks 'hot'! hmm…?
Report Comment
From a quick glance at the Chernobyl analysis, this doesn't seem to be fully convincing to me yet (although I haven't spent much time looking at correspondingly modified Fukushima photos, I have to admit).
On this photo it might just be some air layering issues causing the effect, or something.
I would strongly recommend doing repeated analysis on several recent photos of that Chernobyl view to try to find out whether there actually is a common pattern.

The current lack of money/human resources for the task is quite conspicuous. They are doing nothing right there, but to swing a single crane to one side to the other. Amusing.

What is really obvious at night time are the massive discharges of "invisible" radiation into the air. Videography records and displays things the human eye can't see until it is viewed on playback. That's why the alligator at the zoo looks better (more color and detail) after you go home and view the recording.
Same thing with radiation. The camera picks up wavy gusts of radiation particles and that's why the night feeds are so strange looking. A much better camera would show this in greater detail, but Tepco isn't going go spend more than an entry-level consumer digital camcorder.
The plant looks like heavy radiation is still rising from the ruins of Units 1-4 and also from the plant grounds in general. Some of the out of building hot spots are from Unit 3's explosion of nuclear debris that is still uncollected on the plant grounds. In some areas the debris is covered up by thick metal ground plates laid by Tepco to protect workers. Some emissions are from the three coriums in the mudstone.
Today I could breathe better in west Texas and looking at the jetstream I can see why:
http://squall.sfsu.edu/gif/jetstream_norhem_00.gif
Not looking so good in other areas like the Northwest, Florida and the Appalachias.
The Intellicast stream does look different from the SFSU map though which is rare… They usually are pretty similar:

I went back and snagged a screen shot of the clear blue sky on a typical day at Fukushima.
I overlaid a 'partial sky' with the Filter on.
The effect was startling.
The unaided eye cannot see these emission's translucent subtle differences, but the Filter effect can.
Was it really a clear day?
Maybe NOT…?
