I pose the question of radiation measurement reliability at CafeRadLab

Right there. It's right there. All of it.

Finninger Farm is 600 acres of moist grassland that provides habitat for Barnegat Bay wildlife, but it also houses 180,000 cubic yards of riverbed dredged from the Forked River and Oyster Creek in 1978, 1984 and 1997, according to a 2001 plant safety evaluation. This dredged material is spread over more than 17 acres and contains trace amounts of radioactive Cobalt 60 and Cesium 137, both of which were released into the water by the plant, according to the evaluation.

Not sure humans want to make it a garden…

"In February, Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) sent a "scorpion-shaped" robot – also developed jointly by Toshiba and IRID – into the PCV of unit 2. That survey discovered part of the grating of the platform inside its pedestal had dropped. Although the robot was unable to reach the area directly under the reactor pressure vessel, the company said the information it gathered would help it determine how to decommission the unit.
Toshiba ESS and IRID have now developed a small and radiation-hardened device to investigate the condition under the platform inside the PCV. The device will be deployed from the latter half of January to February.
The device will be introduced into the PCV through a pipe about 12cm in diameter. It comprises a guiding pipe some 13m in length and with a diameter of around 11cm. Attached to this is a further telescopic guiding pipe, about 5m long. A camera module weighing some 2kg is mounted on the end of this. The camera module houses two cameras – a pan-tilt camera and a bird's eye camera – as well as an LED lighting unit, a radiation dosimeter and a thermometer."

"Trump's NASA Plans Are a Nuclear Disaster Waiting to Happen …
What hardly anyone remembers now — and certainly few knew at the time — was that the greater catastrophe averted was not just the potential loss of three lives, tragic though that would have been. There was a lethal cargo on board that, if the craft had crashed or broken up, might have cost the lives of thousands and affected generations to come.
It is a piece of history so rarely told that NASA has continued to take the same risk over and over again, as well as before Apollo 13. And that risk is to send rockets into space carrying the deadliest substance ever created by humans: plutonium…"

"On January 4, 2018, at 1410 hours EST, with the reactor at approximately 100 percent power and steady state conditions, the winter storm across the Northeast caused the loss of offsite 345 kV Line 342.

Reactor power was reduced to approximately 81 percent and a procedurally required manual reactor scram was initiated.

    All control rods fully inserted.

"As a result of the reactor scram, indicated reactor water level decreased, as expected, to less than +12 inches resulting in automatic actuation of the Primary Containment Isolation Systems for Group II – Primary Containment Isolation and Reactor Building Isolation System, and Group VI – Reactor Water Cleanup System.

"Reactor Water Level was restored to the normal operating band.

The Primary Containment Isolation Systems have been reset.

The Reactor Protection System signal has been reset.

"Following the reactor scram, the non-safety related Control Rod Drive Pump "B" tripped on low suction pressure.

Control Rod Drive Pump "A" was placed in service.

The main steam isolation valves are open with decay heat being removed via steam to the main condenser.

Offsite power is still available from 345kV line 355. As a contingency, emergency diesel generators are running and powering safety busses per…

Measuring radioactive dust in northern Japan

Why would anyone want to serve this country?

SAN DIEGO (CN) – A federal judge on Friday dismissed without prejudice the latest class action filed by hundreds of U.S. sailors exposed to radiation in the Fukushima, Japan, nuclear disaster, finding a San Diego courtroom isn’t the right place for the case.

U.S. District Judge Janis Sammartino issued a 15-page order dismissing the class action against Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TepCo) and General Electric, finding the service members who were stationed aboard the USS Ronald Reagan in San Diego have failed to establish how the Japanese utility’s acts were directed at California.

“There is no targeting here. Plaintiffs’ allegations that the effects of TepCo’s conduct were felt by American citizens while on U.S. ships, one of which with a home port of San Diego, are too attenuated to establish purposeful direction,” Sammartino wrote.

Sammartino added the sailors “have provided no information to support an assertion that TepCo knew its actions would cause harm likely to be suffered in California.”

  • CDC to hold briefing on how public can prepare for nuclear war

It's crazy to think the world would survive a nuclear war. All the preparations the last almost 80 years has already thrown the world into the sixth and last extinction.

  • Brookfield Business Partners announced Thursday, Jan. 4 that it had agreed to buy Westinghouse Electric, Toshiba's nuclear unit, in a deal valued at $4.6 billion.

  • Why is the nuclear industry allowed to be above the law? Murder is illegal.

“Dominion Energy says it has no problem with South Carolina lawmakers repealing the controversial law that financed the state’s costly nuclear power plant failure — as long as it only applies to future projects.

"In a statement Friday, the Virginia-based utility giant said the repeal of the Base Load Review Act for future projects wouldn't derail its proposed acquisition of SCANA Corp., the owner of South Carolina Electric & Gas.

"’We appreciate the interest of legislators and others in wanting to amend the legislation regarding future utility projects," the company said. "Repealing the law for future projects would still allow our merger to move forward and bring with it billions of dollars of benefits to SCE&G electric customers.’…"

  • Abe complains that a nuclear North Korea is the greatest threat to Japan since WWII. But doesn't he realize that when nuclear energy start ups are more than a threat. It is surely and certainly destroying his country and the population of the world.

    • PM Abe says nuclear North Korea greatest threat to Japan since WWII

North Korea is already killing off its own population with its nuclear tests. They and the rest of the world are already dying from all the nuclear tests.

A nuclear war will just ensure that the world is destroyed today and forever. That's the only solution possible. But then psychopaths have to kill even if it means their own destruction.

    • FaunaLord q

Yeah North Korea is the greatest throat to Japan since ww2. Let's not mention the american involvement there, or the nuclear power plants in Japan. Fuck let's not even consider the nuke plants, bombs and proccessing facilities in america. Let's do some criticality assessment here of the amount of nuclear material associated with NK or America, Japan, Russia, the Uk, France, I don't fucking care. NK is the least of my worries.

But then, wait a fucking minute, looking at it in a sort of consequential sense. NK? Laugh it off.

And btw, what you're saying is basically the same sort of rhetoric donny uses.

      • Fukushima and all the nuclear meltdowns worldwide and nuclear waste and uranium mining and nuclear reprocessing plants and nuclear energy has already destroyed the world. The best we could hope for is a slowing down of the now inevitable consequences of nuclear technology.

World please wake up and think of all the children and plants and animals if you can't think for yourself.

                    • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

I was buying celery at the marked when I was stalked. But seriously, have you considered getting pepper spray…just in case someone decides to walk with you across the intersection?

                    • The appropriate response is a whistle in my mouth at the ready. 2) Waiting until all pedestrians have already used the intersection so I can walk alone across the intersection. 3) my digital camera at the ready. 4)my cell phone at the ready to phone for help.

Giving out inappropriate advice is another form of harassment which is also illegal.

                    • When I get off the bus, I will tell the bus driver thank you for a protective ride, and tell him/her that I am putting a whistle in my mouth to prevent stalking as I walk home.

                    • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

remember, a whistle in the mouth is a choking hazard. You could clear an intersection and make sure nobody follows you off the bus with pepper spray. Use a gas mask to protect yourself of course

you can never have too much protection, whether its the government, police, pepper spray, attack dog, whistle, direct line to FBI, or simply yelling "coming through so clear out or else!"

                    • Code, your advice is totally evil. I don’t need protection against the government or the police or the FBI. You are the one who brags about your shrink all the time and tries to get everyone to use marijuana. Are you now threatening me with an attack dog? I’ve seen my stalkers with a huge dog more than once in the last 1.5 years. I’m certainly not going to assault a police officer or the government or the FBI with pepper spray or anything else. Please stop telling me to break the law. Sadie Dog said you are insane. q has said numerous times that he is insane. You’ve bragged about all your alters. Why would I follow the corrupt advice of the person who directs all my stalking?

“you can never have too much protection, whether its the government, police, pepper spray, attack dog, whistle, direct line to FBI, or simply yelling ‘coming through so clear out or else!’"

I have to stop communicating with my stalker on the internet even when he makes false accusations, calls me names, threatens me with sexual harassment or slitting my throat or any other threat.

From now on, I’ll just answer with a link to this comment.

                    • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

Anne, your going bonkers. When I say one can never have too much protection, it was simply pointing out the publics misplaced confidence and simultaneous paranoia. So for example, we used to fear Russia and believe our government was protecting us. Russia has the same people in it but now were business partners and there is no cold war. Similarly, you fear loss of the controlling power of the government when you hear the word anarchy. Also you call the FBI as if they are your daddy. You fear people crossing the street at the same time because of paranoia. You think I suggested spraying cops with pepper spray when I was in fact joking about the paranoia, and that the spray would be more effective…and funnier literature, than a whistle…although the whistle and the walker is good comedy, dont get me wrong. Ive never talked about a shrink or marijuana, so you are delusional there. Dont worry, it happens to all of us at some point. All the more reason to spray the public around you with pepper spray,…just in case, or at the very least, use a whistle or siren or something when one sees people…

                    • "But seriously, have you considered getting pepper spray…just in case someone decides to walk with you across the intersection?"

Yea the overwhelming proof shows that weapons are used on the owner more often than not…

But, your foot or thumb is a real weapon if used correctly and it's really hard to use someone else's thumb as a weapon against them right?

Pepper spray (consumer) only pisses them off and then they kill ya…

                      ..A false since of security.

I remember a girl (around 19) that was killed leaving a bar at 2am…

"give me your money" was the demand. The assailant got pepper sprayed instead and shot and killed the young girl even thought he probably couldn't even see…

I'd bet it was over 20 whole bucks at most…

                      Double prepaired wowsers…

And hey, by the way, some of them stalkers were probably assigned to you to see if there was anything actually going on Doc.

Thinking someone's out to get you? Probably nothing, to think is probably the way to go…

And even you with a walker can do this…

Just use the walker as a weapon…

Everyone carries a weapon on them and I'll bet a dollar to a doughnut ya don't even know what it is…

                      I'll give ya a hint though…

OK I'll just tell ya instead so there are no rumors…

                      I expect it's really like this…

And damn farthe, get a grip and stop trying to shock everybody…

                      …not too good

                    • I was stalked again yesterday when I went to the food bank with my walker. But I walked across the street (with my walker) to avoid the person. This happened twice yesterday both while I was both walking to the food bank and when I walked home after getting off the bus.

I was stalked on Wednesday three days ago when I went with my walker to Walmart. Stalkers typically add threatening messages to their stalking. At times, and maybe every time, I'm being tag teamed by at least two different persons. I suspect they are gypsies. Trying to exercise control of a person is illegal, especially when I've never talked to these people and have no relationship whatsoever with them. Walking across with me at the light of a 4 way stop at a busy intersection is an assault. I will now have my whistle in my mouth and I will turn around in the middle of the intersection and wait until I'm unaccompanied by anyone before crossing at the intersection.

It isn't betrayal to insist that a person and his entourage stop any abuse. It is betrayal on the part of a man to abuse a woman or anyone else regardless of the gender or transgender identity.

I have a right to walk outside for exercise, saving money by not using Call and Ride, and for vitamin D from sun exposure.

    Arctic Ocean

All isotopes of radium are radioactive.

There are drastic changes in the chemistry of the ocean waters surrounding the Arctic.
    [and aquifers in the us]

Natural Radium-228 is always being made by the radioactive decay of uranium and thorium.

Natural low-level radium is found in rocks & soil.

Woods Hole research shows steady rise of Ra-228 in Arctic waters. [they blame 'sediment'] How can this be? Check this out:

    Radium-228 (5.75 years)

So how do you explain a buildup of Radium-228?
Logically, there would have to be a continual release.

Identify the specific radiation source? How?

    It's simple, 3 words.

    Gas, Oil, Nuclear..

"Approximately 80% of our exposure to radioactivity is natural and another 20% is from man-made sources".

Now is the time to test your water source since radioactivity is showing up big time in city water supplies.

The largest of these cleanup costs, at $179.5 billion, is attributed to the stabilization and disposal of high-level radioactive wastes generated from the production of plutonium. I bet that $1.2 trillion price tag gets on the gross domestic product ledger. They need a new metric "gross domestic anti product" Every destructive thing, like flame throwers, biological weapons, nuclear bombs and plants, worker exploitation etc needs, in reality, to be subtracted from the gross national product.

thus we see the entrenched stupidity of mankind

  • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

napalm…the U.S. burned so many people to death…and those companies made so much profit. Good for the gross national product!

Famous photo that highlighted the napalm misery. However, it doesnt how the charred bodies

Rapidly napalm reappeared in the Pacific: more than 2/3 of the napalm deployed by the US during WWII (14,000 tons) was dropped there, much of it during the Tokyo attack considered by Curtis LeMay as “the most devastating raid in the history of aerial warfare”, on 9 March 1945, which killed an estimated 84,000 civilians, wounded 90,000 of them and destroyed more than a quarter of the entire city.8 The bombing of Tokyo, and eventually the destruction of 64 Japanese cities (with incendiary raids starting on 10 March 1945), exceeded the “greatest conflagration of the western world” during WWII, and, is viewed by certain historians, as more costly than the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

But…its all part of economic growth! (big shit eating grin)

economic growth, the gross national product and napalm; A capitalist success story. The list of contractors involved in American incendiary weapons during World War II includes Brown University, University of Chicago, Du Pont, Eastman Kodak, Harvard University, Monsanto, Standard Oil Development, and Stanford University, among others. A capitalist success story.

Some 80 million pounds of napalm were produced and used during the war. In the firebombing of Tokyo the following month, incendiary bombs dropped by Allied forces burned down half the city, killing more than 100,000 people and leaving one million homeless.

During the Korean War, use of napalm, a highly flammable, sticky, gel-like substance, increased. The Allies dropped about 32,357 tons of napalm on Korea, double what they dropped on Japan in 1945. Three US Navy officers wrote, “We killed civilians, friendly civilians, and bombed their homes; burned whole villages with the occupants—women and children and 10 times as many hidden Communist soldiers—under showers of napalm, and the pilots came back to their ships stinking of the vomit twisted from their vitals by the shock of what they had to do.

Eastman Kodak, Standard Oil Development, Monsanto, Dupont and the stock traders contributed to the gross national product and economic growth.

In fact, its the only game in town we are told…

"Israel has been founded on brute force, explicit acts of ethnic cleansing, massive forcible evictions, executions, massacres, degradation of Arab victims, rapes of Palestinians by Zionists, repression and fear, collaboration and treachery, beatings, torture chambers, daily intimidation, road blocks, humiliation, manipulation, and violent destruction of hospitals, homes, schools, work places, factories, trees, orchards, cultivated fields, farms, hotels, and cafes. The Israelis embrace ancient land claims and the vindictive and gratuitous humiliation of subjugated people based on mythological religious beliefs. The primitive belief in a “superior” or special people used to justify blood crimes harks back to the ritual barbarities of ancient tribal justice. Israel is a state engaged in primitive cruel acts, of mass torture of prisoners, of collective punishment and guilt (destroying family homes of guerrilla suspects, taking family members hostage), systematically destroying farmland and uprooting hundreds of thousands of farmers and communities for over six decades. The creation of the apartheid only-Jewish State of Israel has been based on the vision or fantasy of the revival of a “lost kingdom” of superior people, members of a survivalist culture which has endured a unique suffering and, therefore, possesses the righteousness to commit violence and use power to strike down adversaries anywhere and not to be bound by conventional international laws which only serve to limit…

use power to strike down adversaries anywhere and not to be bound by conventional international laws which only serve to limit the prerogatives of a “righteous people”.
The Zionist Jews consider it their spiritual obligation to fleece the sheep, to hold themselves (God’s chosen people) above all others, and to take what they want in this World as their “reward”. They have done this religiously and secularly. Taking over Palestine by acts of terror against innocent men, women, and children, was the self-righteous act of fanatics and terrorists. Israel has practiced active genocide against Palestinians ever since. All these crimes happened with the support, financing, arming, and political backing of the civilized Euro-Americans. The Zionists, in their refusal to assimilate or mix with other peoples, forcibly expelled the Palestinians from Palestine, who fled in fear for their lives. Israel was established as a racist, apartheid state, not a true democracy. It never was and never will be a bastion of democracy, freedom, equality, morality, or goodness.

"Once we go down these various paths of creating reality television or whatever it is, of turning pieces of our cities into little Disney Worlds, we can’t turn it back except in our individual lives. In terms of the American life being what I call the fantasy-industrial complex, I’m not without hope, but once this set of boxes is open it’s hard to imagine a future where we return to the previous version of normalcy.
In her book, The Human Advantage, Brazilian neuroscientist Suzana Herculano-Houzel reminds readers that “evolution is not progress, but simply change over time.” America has experienced a variety of changes, yet as Andersen shows the country has long been rooted in mindsets separate from the facts of reality."

Also there is no mention that molten salt reactors have failed miserably in the past. There are no longer superfund clean ups where there are already huge radioactive waste such as Hanford, Santa Susana, St Louis and every other nuclear waste disaster.

The entire fuel cycle from uranium mining, uraniium processing and reprocessing and waste storage and transporting are not carbon free at all but rather create tons more carbon.

There is no mention of all the radioactive disasters that have happened in the past all over the world. Nuclear accidents are extremely common and not rare at all.

There is no mention of all the lethal radiation added to the environment from just refueling and everyday destruction of our water, air, and soil from every nuclear energy facility in the world. Also the accumulation, bioaccumulation of radiation is lethal and already more than the world can sustain.

Regulators kill Perry’s proposal to prop up coal, nuclear power plants

In a unanimous order released Monday afternoon, the five-person commission — four of whom President Trump nominated — said Perry and other supporters of the proposal failed to show that current electricity markets are not just or reasonable, findings that would be necessary in order to mandate the higher electricity payments that Perry sought.

The rejection is a major victory for natural gas, wind, solar and other industries that compete with coal and nuclear. They joined with conservative activists, environmentalists, grid experts, big businesses and others in opposition to the proposal.

"During normal power operations at 100 percent power on Unit 2, both trains of Containment Air Return Fans (CARF) were declared inoperable at 19:28 [EST] on January 9, 2018 due to a common issue with control power fuses.

The fuses potentially could not handle the in-rush current upon re-energizing the circuits.

This condition resulted in a loss of a reasonable expectation that the Unit 2 Containment Air Return Fans would meet their design safety function and mitigate an accident.

This loss of safety function is reportable under 10CFR50.72(b)(3)(v)(D), 8 hour report.

On October 17, 2017, Palisades alerted Curtiss-Wright of the failure of the under-voltage dropout mechanism in a molded case circuit breaker to trip the breaker in an under-voltage condition.

The specific component was a Westinghouse / Eaton Cutler Hammer […].

Six of these components were supplied to Palisades in 1992.

Findings indicated that the under-voltage release mechanism's failure was a result of a misalignment of the solenoid due to excessive play in the design/manufacturing process which allowed the plunger to miss the target that would cause the breaker to trip in an under-voltage condition.

Palisades identified this failure and mentioned two previous failures, one in 1996, and one in 2009.

The under-voltage trip mechanism was redesigned in the 1997-1998 time frame. The new design has not exhibited any reported failures.

The observed failure on a 1992 breaker having failed in the installed condition took 50 trials to repeat the failure.

Given that the excessive play could be a result of combined tolerances, worn tooling, as well as the design itself, and since the OEM has redesigned this mechanism almost 20 years ago, Curtiss-Wright would recommend end users to conduct their own evaluation to determine if a defect, which could create a substantial safety hazard, exists.

"DMSO has radioprotective properties against lethal and mutagenic effects of X-rays in cells, cellular systems and whole animals. It also has cryoprotective properties, meaning that it is capable of protecting against injury due to freezing.
DMSO has also been shown to have cholinesterase properties (Sams, 1967), in other words, it inhibits an enzyme from breaking down acetylcholine, increasing both the level and duration of action of this important neurotransmitter. Acetylcholine is responsible for learning and memory and is also calming and relaxing. Acetylcholine is also a major factor in regulating the immune system, acting as a major brake on inflammation in the body.

As a source of sulfur, DMSO aids in heavy metal detoxification. Sulfur binds with toxic heavy metals (mercury, lead, aluminum, cadmium, arsenic, nickel) and eliminates them via urination, defecation and sweating."

Power Plants Use Water, But We Have No Idea How Much

As demand for energy rises, the power sector’s water usage is expected to increase even further, straining scarce water resources. Thirty-six countries around the world already suffer from high or extremely high water stress.

We’re already seeing this tension play out in drought-prone countries, many of which have experienced losses in power generation solely due to water shortages. For example, in 2012, record droughts in the United States caused at least one plant in Connecticut to suspend operations. In India, WRI found that water shortages in 2016 cost the country enough electricity to power neighboring Sri Lanka for an entire year.

Since many power plants do not disclose their water usage, WRI has developed a method to estimate this data ourselves. The new methodology details the distinct visual features of fuel and cooling type at each thermal power plant, which can be spotted via mapping services like Google Earth. Once one identifies a power plant’s fuel and cooling types via satellite images, they can be matched to empirical water withdrawal and consumption intensities. Those intensity factors are then utilized in combination with generation data (which, unlike water usage, is usually disclosed) to calculate roughly how much water a plant withdraws or consumes over a certain time period.

I'm patiently waiting on total heat rejection/addition to environment studies. I think it may be mind bending.

They are heating all this water on generation, then we are heating something when this electric is consumed.

Many man-made heat sources, adding heat, 24/7.

      How many BTU's a day? 😉

      • Jebus Jebus

Also, every ICE takes in ambient air and compresses it to combustion temperatures, burns the oxygen, and ejects it back into the environment, with pollutants, at anywhere from 10 to 500 to 1000+ cubic feet per minute…

Not just cars, not just aircraft, not just ships.

        Every engine, every day…

      • AirSepTech AirSepTech

Yes. 60-70% of the total heat is waste heat. Does nothing. ICE.

Same for power, huge losses. Then you getsome, and make more heat

You just got to love the SIZE of it all.

Folding some socks and BVD's, where did that 3500btu/hr go?

        10 min shower? 8500btu. x how many daily? + 20gal water each.

Where is all the heat going?

Pavement/roofing, transformers just trying to move/supply power.

Some day their will be 8 billion people. And then 9. 10. 11.

        Their will be a limit.

AirSep…I took a stab at it, for what its worth

if you had 5800 candles in a basketball stadium (about one candle per foot) as a representation of the natural heating of the earth from the sun, all of mans energy use and waste heat would be equal to adding one candle. Not totally insignificant, but not substantial either.

          • AirSepTech AirSepTech

Oh boy, should have known arguing this one would be like setting the hair on fire. hahaha

1/5800 sounds terrible. Is this 340w/sq.meter sun input? Don't even want to think core(latent?) heat like volcanos etc.

I should apologize for the deflection from the OP, water resources. Messing with fresh water is bad mojo. In any way.

As much as we think we are grand, and can make some very massive numbers/changes, we are pipsqueaks in the bigger picture.

I wasn't really looking at this as a 'climate' issue, although I did start a paragraph going that direction, it seemed as though 'mind control' has taken some effect. Understandably, we are beaten senseless daily with it.

No, it was more about ape mans insanity, the constant obsession with what is right/wrong.
The justification of what is tolerable, as long as it provides convenience.
And the notion we can fix or change it all.

170 Million in U.S. Drink Radioactive Tap Water. Trump Nominee Faked Data to Hide Cancer Risk.

    Thursday, January 11, 2018

By Bill Walker, Editor in Chief, and Wicitra Mahotama, Environmental Analyst

[ huge article, some excerpts ]

Drinking water for more than 170 million Americans contains radioactive elements at levels that may increase the risk of cancer, according to an EWG analysis of 2010 to 2015 test results from public water systems nationwide.

The nominee, Kathleen Hartnett White, former chair of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, admitted in a 2011 interview that the commission falsified data to make it appear that communities with excessive radiation levels were below the EPA's limit.

She said she did not "believe the science of health effects" to which the EPA subscribes, placing "far more trust" in the work of the TCEQ, which has a reputation of setting polluter-friendly state standards and casually enforcing federal standards.

In 2001, TCEQ reported to top state officials – including Hartnett White and then-Gov. Rick Perry, […] – that some types of radiation in the tap water of some Texas communities posed an increased lifetime cancer risk of 1 in 400. The EPA’s increased lifetime cancer risk for five types of radioactive elements ranges from 2 to 7 in 100,000.

    • freebywill

[cont.] A 2011 investigation by KHOU-TV of Houston unearthed TCEQ emails documenting the deception.

Instead of reporting the levels measured in laboratory tests, TCEQ would first subtract the test's margin of error. Because TCEQ’s falsifying of data made it appear that the system met EPA standards, the system did not have to inform its customers that their tap water contained dangerous levels of radiation.

In a 2011 interview with KHOU-TV, Hartnett White defended the deception, saying the EPA's standards were too protective and that it would cost small communities millions of dollars to comply. She said TCEQ continued its practice instead of challenging the federal rules in court because it would be "almost impossible" for the state to win:

As my memory serves me, [subtracting the margin of error] made incredibly good sense … We did not believe the science of health effects justified EPA setting the standard where they did … I have far more trust in the vigor of the science by which TCEQ assesses, than I do EPA.

KHOU investigative reporter Mark Greenblatt pressed Hartnett White: "But what if you're wrong? What if you're wrong and EPA's right about there being a danger?"

"It would be . . . it would be regrettable," she replied.

". . . it would be regrettable," she replied."

Tim Mousseau responds to my questions about his paper on grasshoppers reared from parents at different locations around Chernobyl at CafeRadLab

  • Mousseau (USC) has done some very comprehensive work on insets and radiation…

Why? Because they live shorter lives and show the contamination quicker…

A old friend that is helping me work on my house as we speak just took his cat to the vet to get a tumor removed, I asked him…

So your cat has cancer right? Yes…

Have you asked yourself why your cat has cancer? Hummmmmmmmmmmm….

Roots around in it's own shit and then licks it's paws and wipes itself allover?

And a bowl of old tap water to drink?

But let's not forget the truth…

A cat only lives around 10 years so it's just a omen of things to come if you live in that environment…

Mousseau's research is centered around that fact…

So the shorter your lifespan (immune system and lifestyle) the quicker it shows up.

Drinking tap water out of a bowl on the floor contaminated by dust doesn't help either…

Oh and rooting around in a litter box then licking your'e paws and wiping it allover yourself adds to it too…

Cancers in animals have quadrupled in the last few (that would be 3 if you were guessing) years…

Almost unheard of 50 years ago.

What does that tell us without doubt?

Peter Gabriel – Digging In The Dirt:

    • HoTaters HoTaters

My cats lived to be 18 and 20 years old. There is no reason a cat's normal lifespan should be limited to 10 years under normal circumstances.

      • Agreed HoTaters it's all about exposure and immune system…

Not putting anything down, simply pointing out the reason dogs and cats live shorter lives is exposure and immune system resiliency…

Dogs shake hands differently than humans (know what I mean 🙂 and walk with their nose to the ground…

Cats contaminate themselves through habits like rooting around in a litter box and licking their paws…

Neither wear shoes and most will eat turds in the yard (even their own turds) if left to themselves.

And cancer is now showing up as a epidemic among these fully domesticated animals…

It's a indicator… And they haven't done anything wrong or anything they haven't been doing for generations…

So what has actually changed? Pollution and radiation in our environment…

Mousseau (USC) has shown it through comprehensive study and fact…

So why do you think domestic animals show symptoms of cancer outbreaks before the humans they live with that (almost like clockwork) also develop cancer later in life?

Well this is a great page to start studying this subject on…

So if the studies are right owning a pet does not cause cancer (duh)!!!

But if this conclusion is correct and your pet gets cancer, it's not the pet or you that caused it so where did it come from?

Ding ding ding!!!!! A outside source must be present!!!!

    • HoTaters HoTaters

BTW most dogs (over 50% now) have cancer by age five or six. It is attributed to environmental contamination, vaccines, flea and tick killing agents, etc.

Our dog gets NO vaccines unless her titers are low, organic food, herbal flea and tick treatments, and her feet are cleaned each time she comes indoors.

Age eight and so far, so good. Spunky as a puppy….

    • HoTaters HoTaters

HD, just wanted to point out we should not lower our expectations of our animals' lifespans unless we factor in environmental contaminants and the unhealthy things with which we feed and medicate them.

Glad to report so far the herbal treatments are working well.

The dog, like me, doesn't do well with vaccines.

    • HoTaters HoTaters

And yes, you're right, the cancers in animals have increased tremendously. We had never heard of a pet with cancer until sometime in the past five years.

    • FaunaLord q

"Cancers in animals have quadrupled in the last few (that would be 3 if you were guessing) years…"

That's a pretty bold (I also think bullshit) claim. Care to link to some info?

      • Sure no prob q…

But the real obvious questions are?

So your dog runs outside barefoot bites a flea on it's butt with it's mouth and then cleans it's butthole with it's tongue and then jumps onto your bed and starts digging that dirt clod out of is paw with it's mouth…

Then you come in and the dog licks your face and you pet it stirring up dust and getting a face full of dog spit mixed with a dirt clod and butt cleanings…

Could this be a major pathway to contamination? Oh and when's the last time the dog had a bath? I'll go out on a limb here and predict not nearly as much as the owner…

What's the contamination? It ain't the animal? Isn't that the path it took (on the dog's foot and back and butt hole) to get onto your bed and expose you to it? Right??

So dogs aren't dirty, dirt is dirty and dogs carry loads of dirt around with them…

Cats? Virus heaven… If you were a virus, finding a cat would be like hitting the lottery…

Known fact and the cat's habit of licking it's paws and wiping itself allover should be self explanatory for both virus and pollution inroads…

And the cat doesn't wear shoes or bathe regularly either…

And here's one worth reading to…
