Couldn't be that the milkweed plants are contaminated, could it?
    Not just rads either, pollution.
Now where did I put my 55 gallon drum of roundup?

Monarch Migration Plunges to Lowest Level in Decades

The number of monarch butterflies that completed an annual migration to their winter home in a Mexican forest sank this year to its lowest level in at least two decades, due mostly to extreme weather and changed farming practices in North America, the Mexican government and a conservation alliance reported on Wednesday.

“This is one of the world’s great migrations,” he said. “It would be a shame to lose it.”

  • Not sure if we can attribute this to a global nuclear disaster, but it did start 18 months ago:

Alberta Premier Redford losing hearing in one ear
The Canadian Press Posted: Mar 21, 2013 7:27 AM MT Last Updated: Mar 21, 2013 7:31 AM MT
    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/story/2013/03/21/edmonton-alberta-premier-redford-hearing-problem.html

"Alberta Premier Alison Redford says she has been losing hearing in her right ear over the past 18 months.

Redford, who is 48, told reporters that it's at the point where she's now "almost deaf" in that ear.

She says she just got an appointment Wednesday with a specialist in Calgary after trying for more than a year."

    • I've had ear ache problems for over a year now. I would also say an unusual number of people I know have had recent ear issues also.

I have been treated with several kinds of antibiotics. Finally, the infection has mostly cleared, but I still feel it's not completely gone.

Saw the doctor today and she made an interesting 'out of blue' comment. She said, "You know my ears have been aching for some time now and I've never had problems before."

She went in to say, "It's also seems like there are an extraordinary number of people who are having ear issues."

That was followed with a puzzled look and the final comment, "Must be bad allergies this year".

  • Damaged tail feathers on bird. :(

Reviewing a recording from June 29, 2011 I noticed this bird's tail feathers looked severely damaged.

It made me think that if high exposure causes skin problems on humans, I wonder what it does to birds. Feather loss? hmm…?

  • Anyone here, or know of anyone that has had dizziness recently?
A feeling of vertigo as if you're about to tip over, kind of a background 'buzz' through the temple area?

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/dizziness/DS00435

"Dizziness is a term used to describe everything from feeling faint or lightheaded to feeling weak or unsteady. Dizziness that creates the sense that you or your surroundings are spinning or moving is called vertigo.

Dizziness is one of the most common reasons adults visit their doctors — right up there with chest pain and fatigue. Although frequent dizzy spells or constant dizziness can keep you from doing much of anything, dizziness rarely signals a serious, life-threatening condition. Treatment of dizziness depends on the cause and your symptoms, but is usually effective."

No, but I have had a severe allergic cough in my throat nonstop for three days. Suspect it's pollution related as the winds have been fierce. Not a normal cough…uncontrollable cough a minute episodes that fails to respond to endless drinks and cough drops. Haven't had this bad a cough since spring of 2012. Very debilitating. I can only imagine the respiratory distresses in Fukushima. ;-(

Sorry about symptoms and for anyone who can't get away from being "too close" for comfort…

I'm on the east coast USA and haven't had any symptoms or health issues (except for the spring of 2011, when I noticed "something" in the air!)… But, I honestly think this stuff is so insidious and subtle that many of us may have a longer latency period. Also, I've pretty much gone OFF all dairy, seafood, seaweed, mushrooms, and any likely exposed oils or nuts…not to mention most anything fatty that is reliably downwind. (I got that advice from Chernobyl studies and successful survivors!) I most always filter my water and try to informally detox my system and pump up my immunity with safe anti-oxidants, exercise, love, prayer, etc.

However, despite your best efforts, it is clearly a crap-shoot. Also, I've got a busy professional and personal life, so it's hard to watch your intake and exposure along with daily obligations….

While I may be enjoying great health and can blend in with everyone else without noticeable signs of this tragedy, I do take it extremely seriously!! Scientifically, this is a MONSTER!!!

I have noticed other people ailing… And any glimpse of the SCIENCE here is staggering. Last, but not least, I totally resent paying taxes and getting NOTHING in the way of basic, simple tests or warnings to vulnerable populations!!!…

Where are our tax monies going, if the U.S. will not invest in addressing this massive crisis and doing some…

??? That was a question!… I don't know how they can justify overlooking basic tests and precautions!! It is crazy.

p.s. I'm also blessed that cancer does not run in my genes… That said, this situation is a total crap-shoot. I say you should MOVE, even if you think you can't, and always protect the young… and try to avoid Internal emitters!!…

It's disturbing how many people have noticed metallic tastes or health issues since the disaster…

    Disease caused by Climate Change?
Do they know those salmon just came back from the ocean?

    Category: Disease
    Observation: 16.09.2008
    Continent: North-America
    Country: USA
    State: State of Alaska
    Location: Yukon River area
    Severity: Hight

More Alaskan salmon caught here end up in the dog pot these days, their orange-pink flesh fouled by disease that scientists have correlated with warmer water in the Yukon River. With global warming, cold-temperature barriers are giving way, allowing parasites, bacteria, and other disease-spreading organisms to move toward higher latitudes. "Climate change isn't going to increase infectious diseases but change the disease landscape," said marine ecologist Kevin D Lafferty, who studies parasites for the US Geological Survey. "And some of these surprises are not going to be pretty."
