Hi What-About-The-Kids! The last 5 years I have taken interested in the sun.
The solar activity has a major role in tectonic plate and fault line activity. The crossing of the Galactic plane has a potential to increase earthquakes magnitudes..
The Density of the crossing of the Galactic plane increases.
Meaning the suns effects on earth quakes increases, like smacking two rocks together above water, and then below water. The intensity of shock increases in the density, and the sound is more dramatic.
When the sun has a CME, it is more dramatic. More dense, and has a larger impact on earth.
The importance is the earth quakes produced by solar activity has
a greater threshold of damage, and if the CME punches the Earth strong enough then the most probable EQ will occur. But it's totally unreliable. Relating the NPP's and trying to warn of future possible EQ's is most humbling. Its an inaccurate science.
Report Comment
Thanks for your reply, CB! I didn't know we were crossing the Gallactic Plane. (Didn't even know what that was! Sounds Trekian!)
How long will the "crossing" last? Is that part of that big cloud too I read about that we were going to pass through?
I know, predicting earthquakes is an inexact science. I remember interrogating the head of the seismology dept. at a large university in CA years ago, just after the Northridge quake, and asked if and when he thought seismologists would be able to predict quakes. His answer? Never. Why? Chaos theory. Too many factors to try and figure into the equation. That's what makes it so endlessly fascinating, I suppose, hmmm?
Just wish the suspicions/claims about man being able to make eqs using EMF frequencies would prove to be false. No one should ever be given such power against their fellow human beings. Ever.

This is such a travesty. This pollution of their drinking water with uranium is a "legacy" left over from uranium mining they did back in the late 50's and early 60's! And of course, as per their usual m.o., they once again exploited the native populations, recruiting them to be the miners, from the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribes, who are now suffering from cancers and nervous disorders as well.
It's about time we ALL knew what was in our drinking water. Following up on Jeff McMahon's article last week in Forbes.com, about the Inspector General citing the EPA for poor performance of RadNet after Fuku, Jeff has promised to report back when he hears from the EPA about how we can find their promised quarterly testing results for radiation in our drinking water. (The results are not currently posted anywhere we could find them).
Stay tuned and be sure to check back on Jeff's article on Forbes.com to find out what the EPA says:

But he did say there WERE testing all along and posted some numbers (in the negative mainly) for gross alpha and beta in Seattle drinking water.

Watch Out for Dead Fish
… Dead jellyfish are not the only seaside problem in Galveston. Dead fish, such as trout and shad, are found along the shoreline, and both pets and kids might be a little too curious.
Stick to areas of beach that are clear of debris. You'll found more of these on Surfside beach than you will on Galveston, so you might want to head west and take the toll bridge to cleaner sand. Beyond that, do not touch any dead fish or pick up any shells or debris around the carcasses. …

Super moon this Saturday night, The moon doesn't orbit earth in a perfect circle, sometimes it is closer, and sometimes farther. This weekend it will be close, the effect will be most noticable right after sunset, turn around and watch the moon rise. I know this is off topic, but take a moment to relax and see the wonders of our night sky. Venus will be very bright in the western sky, Mars will be almost straight up and appear slightly reddish. Thank You All for your hard work, but take a moment and enjoy the beauty.

The earth is tilted on the solar plane causing seasons, most think the tilt is because the moon crashed billions of years ago. They also think the tides caused by the moon may have been the reason life took hold on land. Meaning if it were not for the moon we would not be here. I challenge you all to take the weekend off and enjoy life, watch the moon rise Friday and Saturday. Look at the very bright Venus in the western skies. Relax and enjoy life. I will see you back here on Monday.

Heartland Inst. compares belief in global warming to mass murder
Poster campaign comparing Unabomber and Osama Bin Laden to those concerned about global warming
Their press release says: "Billboards in Chicago paid for by The Heartland Institute point out that some of the world's most notorious criminals say they "still believe in global warming" – and ask viewers if they do, too…The billboard series features Ted Kaczynski, the infamous Unabomber; Charles Manson, a mass murderer; and Fidel Castro, a tyrant. Other global warming alarmists who may appear on future billboards include Osama bin Laden and James J. Lee (who took hostages inside the headquarters of the Discovery Channel in 2010).
These rogues and villains were chosen because they made public statements about how man-made global warming is a crisis and how mankind must take immediate and drastic actions to stop it.
Why did Heartland choose to feature these people on its billboards? Because what these murderers and madmen have said differs very little from what spokespersons for the United Nations, journalists for the "mainstream" media, and liberal politicians say about global warming. (…) The people who still believe in man-made global warming are mostly on the radical fringe of society. This is why the most prominent advocates of global warming aren't scientists. They are murderers, tyrants, and madmen."

"Not dissimilar to Christopher Monckton's use of Hitler and swastikas.
What is it that attracts climate science deniers to images of psychopaths, murderers and dictators? I know the ultraconservative brain is somewhat lacking in insight and is oversensitive to fear stimuli. What they probably don't understand is that normal people aren't as fearful. Most rational people will just find their 'campaign' gross and distasteful and very very silly.
Let's guess the next Heartland poster session. Perhaps: Stalin thought the world was round, which proves that earth is flat?"

Mitch Battros theorized in 1998 that large solar flares affect Earth's magnetic field, which in turn shifts the oceanic and atmospheric currents, which can cause earthquakes and extreme weather. As Battros summarizes his formula:
Sunspots => Solar Flares (charged particles) => Magnetic Field Shift => Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents => Extreme Weather [including earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes or other extreme natural events]

Diageo to end funding of Heartland Institute after climate change outburst
One of the world's largest drinks companies has announced it will no longer fund the Heartland Institute, a rightwing US thinktank which briefly ran a billboard campaign this week comparing people concerned about climate change to mass murderers and terrorists such as Osama bin Laden, Charles Manson and Ted Kaczynski.
The London-based drinks giant owns brands such as Guinness, Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker and Moët & Chandon.
Following the widespread outcry triggered by Heartland's billboards, a Diageo spokeswoman told the Guardian: "Diageo vigorously opposes climate scepticism and our actions are proof of this. Diageo's only association with the Heartland Institute was limited to a small contribution made two years ago specifically related to an excise tax issue. Diageo has no plans to work with the Heartland Institute in the future."
