Carol Swift, of Overland Park, Kansas, the mother of Joshua Swift of Inzai, Japan, on YouCaring.com had set a goal of raising $25,000 by August 31 because her three grandchildren "are sick from radiation poisoning and the food source has been compromised" as a result of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident.
The online appeal listed various medical ailments affecting the family including autoimmune diseases affecting all three children.

I mentioned the new movie "Chernobyl Diaries" mutant monsters attack chernobyl visitors. For the last three years I have been concerned about an economic collapse. zero interest for 4 years, central banks purchasing equities to prop stock markets. Greece burning investors out of 100 billion to borrow 130 billion, deeper indebt now. BOJ is doing same thing. Then I saw a story about FUKU, been here 10 weeks.
I have nightmares worse than anything that movie can come up with. We need to do flyers to hand out at the opening of the movie in our towns, The movie is fiction, but the radiation danger is real, reference the real mutants in chernobyl and Belarus, Pictures of deformed children, put together a fact sheet about the real horrors of radiation. Give them info about the ongoing horror show. let them know that the movie is fiction but there are real people dying everyday. names of movies about the real chernobyl disaster. WE need to use this to spread the word that the problems are real not just a movie, no there are not monsters running around but children enduring a lifetime of deformities. Tell them that this movie may happen to your own children if something is not done to fix the ongoing problems. I am not that savvy on the internet, I need help developing these ideas and spreading them. I think we need to use this movie to spread our word, that they are slowly killing us all. @sharp – hi, i've read your comment. i relate to your dillema.
I think we are all looking for a magic formula to help the situation, no one has the complete answer, but with a site like enenews that we have here, and so many ideas and interim solutions maybe you can find a way to relieve the anxieties.
There is most likely a tough road ahead, whether we find solutions or not. So get yourself as physically fit as you can, eat as well as you can, be as strong as you can.
Of course, I say these things and try myself, but, being human, none of us are perfect, I slip up from time to time myself.
And you know, I do wonder sometimes if it's all really as bad as we wind it up as. So be prepared for nothing to go further wrong as well
Try the flyers things if you wish, I'd like to know how it goes. I'm not convinced that a lot of people would listen or want to take notice.
Get a dosimeter if you can afford it. Keep an eye on levels. It can be some relief to find you are not soaking in as much as you may fear. (Or it could go the other way, sorry).
In the end, I suppose it's really down to the people in Japan. It's their country, their domain. They are the ones you need to convince first.
Short anwser, I don't fully know what to do.. just keep watching, and keep exercising and taking care of yourself. Get as strong as possible, because if the infrastructure fails, your own capacity will be all that you have.

Solar activity has declined somewhat since the M-Class flare on Monday. Only C-Class flares have been detected around large Sunspot 1476. This region has a Beta-Gamma magnetic configuration and may produce a strong solar flare within the next 48 hours. It continues to rotate into a more geoeffective position, so any Coronal Mass Ejections produced could be Earth directed.
Elsewhere, a small new sunspot rotated into view off the southeast limb. Sunspots 1470-1471 are currently stable.
UPDATE: An impulsive solar flare reaching M1.4 was detected at 13:08 UTC around Sunspot 1476.

Am hoping there is not a large EQ in Northern California near the Mendocino Triple Junction (southwest of Eureka, CA). The Eureka, CA nuclear plant is being decommissioned. There are spent fuel rods stored there. They will continue to be stored in a cooling pond until 2015.
The SFP is probably not above ground, so at least it appears to be more safe than the ponds up high in buildings.
If I'm not mistaken. the large building was removed so the SFP must be near ground level.
PG&E owns the facility. I think I recently read the "plan" is to move the spent fuel rods into dry cask storage by 2015.
The Mendocino Triple Junction is a very tectonically active area, and is part of the Cascadia Subduction zone. Let's hope and pray there are no major EQ's in this zone before we figure out what to do with all the spent nuclear fuel!
That goes for Hanford, as well. Even though it's well inland from the coast, if there were a 9.0 magnitude EQ near the Washington state section of the Cascadia Subduction zone, it would likely affect Hanford, too.
These plants are like ticking time bombs.

Two important ones..

Hello. I realize I had a main role in this incident. But I'm not yet ready to speak directly about it. I'm not ready now, and probably never will be ready, to call anyone else names like "shill" or "pro-nuke." What is happening here now is much more complex than that, much more a matter of our developing human interaction as we attempt to evolve consciouness beyond the dominator syndrome which has operated for—however long– far too long.
I believe I misread xdrfox's reply to me out of my own insecurity and/or feelings of being misunderstood in other instances. Not that there are not many sides to this issue.
I will say more later. But I feel the situation is too raw right now to say much more.
Blessings to eneNews, the contributors here, and to the evolution required to adapt and survive the mess in which we find ourselves and have created through our evolution thus far.

It doesn't pay to wear your feelings on your sleeve. I can take offense at postings as you may have seen today, but I am never one to take offense at advice aimed at me. I may not like it, but I always try to find a single shred of truth in the critique. Just a little is enough to pacify me.
Advice was given, and Doc took offense.
There's another old saying, don't crap where you eat.
It means many things…don't date people at work, don't mix business with pleasure, and …don't insult your host.

Although the report has generated a deluge of coverage in the establishment media, not one of those news stories points out that the Club of Rome admittedly manufactured the “idea” of man-made global warming back in 1990.
On page 75 of their 1990 publication entitled The First Global Revolution, the organization outlined how they would manufacture ecological scares in order to manipulate the public into accepting the imposition of a dictatorial world government run by them.
“In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill…. All these dangers are caused by human intervention… The real enemy, then, is humanity itself,” states the report, which can be read in full at the end of this article.
The passage appears under a sub headline entitled, “The common enemy of humanity is Man.”
The Club of Rome’s 1972 publication The Limits To Growth was a Malthusian blueprint on how the human population needed to be reduced in order to prevent an ecological collapse, which in itself was merely a disguised version of the abhorrent eugenicist ideas that were circulating in the early part of the 20th century and eventually died out with Hitler.
