    after watching the historic protests yesterday i realised i needed to learn the new tools of 'citizen journalists'.

    utream.tv is our friend (at this stage).

    it was the conduit of providing multiple camera vantages for the one event, using people's mobile phones and other camera/wifi devices.

    i've just completed my first successful ustream test. later, i am willing to try it out with some enenewers if they wish.

    i downloaded and installed ustream broadcaster (free) from the apple store for my iphone. it was easy and simple to get ready.

    i created an account on ustream.tv, so i then had a channel to transmit from.

    then i started the stream from my phone.. amazing — i then had multiple computers look at the stream from my phone. this is brilliant stuff people.

    if you have a smart phone or truley portable computer with a cam, get yourself ready as a mobile journalist. get ready. test it. try it out. test it again.

    as the protests will spread from japan, we will need mobile journalists ready.. we all know not to expect the lame stream media to turn up. and be prepared for no support either. have battery chargers ready and a good 3G or wireless access.

    please get ready now, while it's still comfortable. if you want a hand sing out – i am happy to help.

    please get ready. and hopefully we'll never need it.

    Toyota starts monitoring electricity usage at plants to save power
    Toyota Motor Corp. began monitoring electricity usage and power generation at its plants in an integrated manner on Monday to make more efficient use of energy and conserve power, company officials said Tuesday.
    With the new system, workers are now able to monitor real-time and projected power use in line graphs as well as the state of power generators at the company's plants, the officials said. The system is designed to activate an alarm when power usage approaches a preset conservation target, they added.

    On Tuesday, the major automaker also announced the installation at six of its plants in Aichi Prefecture of eight energy-efficient "cogeneration" power units using utility supplied gas and plans to start operating them in stages from July 27.

    Taiwan: Cow dung thrown to protest against ractopamine in beef

    Taiwanese farmers threw cow dung at parliament in protest against a bill being debated which would allow the import of beef containing ractopamine from the USA.

    Ractopamine, an animal feed additive that promotes leanness, is banned in Taiwan, China and the European Union because of possible human health risks. However, other countries including the US, Canada and Australia claim it to be safe…

    "We urge President Ma Ying-jeou and the lawmakers to be brave and tell the United States we don't want beef containing ractopamine, to guard public health," the Consumers' Foundation said.

    Australian beef and veal exports to US up 28%

    "AUSTRALIAN cattle exporters are reaping the benefits of a "pink slime" controversy in the US, but the trade with Indonesia continues to plummet.

    Beef and veal exports to the US are expected to increase by 28 per cent to 205,000 tonnes in 2011/12, the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Sciences (ABARES) said in its June quarter commodities report today.

    Exports to Japan and South Korea are also strong, while shipments to Taiwan, the Middle East, Latin America and Hong Kong are offsetting lower exports to Russia and Indonesia."

      Gotta watch out for those "non-terrorist" Texans. Some Texans bought a lodge property just down the road from my driveway last year after the previous owner went bankrupt. Got a heckuva deal on scattered 140 acres of southern Appalachian mountains, one of the plots abuts my property and is part of our access (half-mile driveway).

      First thing they did was put up a heavy gate, offensively nasty signs, great big lights on tall poles that burn all night long. Then they hired a 'caretaker' who has actually threatened my grandchildren with a gun as they were walking up the creek to the swimming hole – damned stupid Texans do NOT own the creek, that's state land. Now they're installing 12' chain link with barbed wire – facing out. These jerk-offs are definitely up to no good.

      The other day the helicopters started coming in and out. I presume bringing 'clients' of some sort, though they've filed no business papers so we could know what the hell they're doing in there. It sure ain't a mountain biker's B&B…

      The moment I hear more shooting than is usual from our neighborhood black powder range, I'm calling the FBI. Don't want any traitorous Timothy McVeigh types around here, and threatening the neighborhood children with guns is absolutely unacceptable from ANY flatlander transplant!

          Sorry for late reply, WSP. In and out during the week. There certainly are laws against pulling guns on people who are not on your property, especially neighborhood children doing nothing more than trying to get to the swimming hole they've been swimming in every summer all their lives. Soon as I can convince some neighbors to go with me, I'm taking grandpa's shotgun with me and walking right up that creek. WITH the plat maps and copies of relevant portions of the state constitution, statutes and regulations pertaining to the FACT that the watercourses belong to the STATE, not creepy, displaced Texans. Now they've got Jeeps with machine gun mounts doing donuts on the dirt road…

    X1.1 Solar Flare / Minor Radiation Storm
    Sunspot 1515 has been teasing us with countless M-Class solar flares and it finally did what it has been threatening to do over the past several days. A major X1.1 Solar Flare was detected at 23:08 UTC. This event triggered a 10cm Radio Burst and a Type IV Sweep Frequency Event. The blast did generate a Coronal Mass Ejection, but it looks to be headed south and to the west. This should have little impact on Earth. The protons blasted away from the flare site are currently streaming past Earth and a S1 Minor Radiation Storm is in progress.

    And just to get this Off-Topic fest going (cuz it can be fun and it's Saturday…) I'm re-posting johnnyo's question from yesterday here where it belongs:

    [If I were king of Enenews for a day I would run a poll. Very curious what the breakdown would be on a few questions not directly, but tangentially related to how we might stop the madness. I will only mention one. For me personally I would love to know how many people here believe the official story about what happened on 9/11.]

    The only comment I'll make on the happening itself is LIHOP – Let It Happen On Purpose. Am seriously not buying MIHOP, don't believe it was our spooks and/or Israeli spooks instead of dedicated a-holes from Saudi Arabia.

    But far as I've been able to see, there is no "official" story. There is garbage and pablum with an "official" seal of approval that even the senior members of the investigatory commission themselves have disavowed. So, sort of like Pearl Harbor, we aren't ever likely to get the real story on an event so convenient to ulterior designs of the elite Power Cabal (war against Iraq, an oil pipeline through Afghanistan the Taliban had refused). Opportune for opportunists. They knew it was coming, stood down to let it happen.

    Just my not-so humble opinion, because the question was asked. What's yours?

      Since this is OT Non-Nuclear Issues section, I'm going to spout along with you. There are so many questions, I'm not even going to put them all down.

      I think there was a lot of unanswered questions about 9/11

      I think we stick our noise into other countries problems at times, probably for a profit.

      There is a lot of things I don't understand like why spray our troops or anyone with agent orange?

      Why were the people in the Katrina disaster treated so badly?

      Why is TSA allowed to touch and feel and why have those X-ray machines without a medical tech? I really don't like to fly anymore.

      We still have a Gulf Disaster with corexit and such mixed in, why do they act like all is fine?

      Why do they think people can afford health coverage, people are being squeezed with everything they need. People crossing their fingers if they have enough gas to get to work.

      Why isn't there a furry of new safer energy being built like, solar wind, and so on. Cars running on different types of fuels, and so on.

      Why has there been some strange bills passed?

      Why have we lost some of our rights, even the right to know what is happening to our Country.

      Do I still like my Country? It's not perfect, there isn't a Country that is perfect.

      Our Country can be better, and should be, there is always room for improvement. There is corruption, like most governments.

      I have always felt lucky to be here when I know there are people in other Countries who…

      Joy, I've always been of the LIHOP persuasion. While recognizing the possibility of MIHOP, and admiring the hard work and ardor of the 911 Truth movement, I haven't seen that as a productive route. I could be wrong, and do respect all truth seekers/tellers. Like the assassinations of JFK, MLK, RFK, the Wellstones, Allende etc, will there ever be a tipping point of USers who "get it", and–if so–will they rise up en masse or seek solace under the covers?

        There probably aren't two human beings who remember where they were and what they were doing when JFK was killed, who actually buy the Magic Bullet bullshit. There are of course entire new generations of people who have never bothered to ask any questions about it because they don't care – it's just another historical factoid they remembered in grade school only long enough to get past the test.

        I was 12 years old when the Warren Commission report came out. I knew immediately it was total garbage, and I wasn't all that unusual for a 12-year old. It informed me in no uncertain terms that things were quite different from how we were propagandized to believe. That skepticism has remained with me all the rest of my life.

        And sure enough, the moment you hear that a "Blue Ribbon Commission" is going to do some kind of "investigation" of something that demands investigating, you know for sure it's going to be propaganda pablum and nothing more. THAT has never changed…

      Would also like to add the main reason, IMO, why we won't leave Afghanistan….USGS study states well over a $trillion dollars worth of rare earth minerals, lithium deposits there, lithium being the next "oil" energy boom. We won't leave Afghanistan until most of that stuff is locked down with solid corporate contracts.

      Thanks Joy for putting this up. I have slogged through thousands of pages on this. Some of it was hysterical hyperbole, some was clearly intentional disinfo to spoil the broth. Much of it is impossible to deny or refute.

      First, Al Queada was created by the CIA, as was Osama. Fact.
      Dem Muzlems could not have planned 4 War Game exercises for the exact same time. One aspect of these were "simulated" hi-jackings that produced many transcripts like the NEADS guy in Boston who asked, "Is this real or exercise?" They could not have placed the nano-thermite in the WTC that scientests have found in multiple samples. Only our military had access to that cutting edge material.

      Then there were the 5 dancing Israelis. Google them. 2 other Israelis were arrested by the GW bridge in a van that tested positive for explosives. Larry Siverstein bought the WTC complex just that year, insured it out the wazoo and made many a billion. He also said, on camera, "We decided, the best thing to do was to pull it" talking about building 7. Some probably do not even know about that one. Huge. Would be the tallest building in 35 states, not hit by an airplane, blown to smithereeens. I DARE to you watch the video.

      over 1500 Architects&Engineers have signed a petition demanding a new investigation because it is IMPOSSIBLE for an airplane and a small, localized fire burning for an hour to turn those 2 mamoth edifices into dust.

        there is a chapter entitled, "The System Was Blinking Red" all about the many warnings pouring in from all over the globe and our own intel. In July a meeting was held to alert all the major agencies. They were told to be on alert and cancel any exercises.

        My nearly-adopted son (didn't do the legalities, he was in boot camp at Paris Island when his Mom died, they wouldn't let him attend her funeral) was at Quantico on 9-11. The alarms sounded and they had to muster on the lawn, watching the skies terrified some other 'missile' would come down after them…

        I hope the Tillman family doesn't sign anything per their quest against the government that will keep them silent forever. I sure as hell wouldn't…

    ok, so I stepped on some toes again.

    As HoTaters put it, with all due respect. It was filling up the original thread and I'm happier to chat about it here.

    And I do mean due respect back to the commentators. The people's thoughts, opinions and facts around are on the whole intelligent and well considered, a good reason why I like to stick around.

    So I've read your arguments re chemtrails v contrails. I'll take it onboard for some consideration. Of course, my opinion doesn't really sway anything and sometimes I question what I'm doing here. But blogging seems to be something worthwhile, for whatever reason, so you'll have to put up with me till Admin has had enough ;) or I've had enough :)

    The chemtrails are, as I said, not high on the list for me. So I probably wont sit thru a 90 minute doco. But I'll read and look around. And as mentioned, time gets limited, but I'll try.

      When I first landed at LAX in around the mid 90s, and traveling along the west coast up to San Fran etc, one of the features I clearly noted was the amount of contrails around.

      I come from a land that probably only has about 10% of USA air traffic, so to me especially ithe amount of air traffic and contrails was very noticeable back then, almost 20 years ago. It's probably thickened 10 times again since then.

      Just making that note on how thick the USA air is, 'natively', with contrails. (and their inherent exhaust/pollutants, without getting exotic).

      The other point is that aircraft engines have improved their efficiency a lot as well, where far less fuel is wasted (ie, burned more thoroughly) and the exhaust is 'cleaner' with a higher water ratio then 20 years ago.

        Well, I can see that some of you are very passionate on this matter of chemtrails.

        As I said I would do, I've taken the time to have a closer look at this subject, in order to see if I'd missed something that may hold validity.

        I mean no offense to the good people who have provided me with so much great info over this time, so it pains me to have to say that I can't support the cause for chemtrails.

        There are a number of reasons, the first being that there are other extremely high priority tangible calamities facing us – ie, fukukuku. That involves several issues, nuke clean up, stopping nukes, stopping uranium mining and kick starting renewable energies.

        The second point is the lack of real tanglible facts related to chemtrails, all I could ever find was repeated dogma. I noticed that the supporters claim it's a global issue. It's not. The rest of the world has no concern of chemtrails. So the thought of it being a defence against global warming doesn't hold water, because all this 'activity' is in the USA, not around the planet. It reminded me how americans have 'world series' baseball, but the rest of the world doesn't play baseball ;) go figure.

        Thirdly, I notice that the 'news' of chemtrails has risen proportionally to the spread of the internet. Prior to 199x this issue was not on the 'radar'.

        I know some of you will not be impressed with my answer and may take it personally, I'd prefer that you didn't take it too hard. It's only my…

        But at the same time, I'd like to encourage people to keep a focus on the real and evident issues that we face. A particular reason for that is I'd like to get more 'average' people involved in the anti-nuke struggle. If the issues become diffuse and vague then we wont be able to hold their attention – to all our loss. This is a very important point, although others may not agree with me.

        I've also mentioned before about WMDs. This is a true side issue that could do with some investigation and there are actually real truths out there about how we were lied to in order to achieve 'mission accomplished'. Again, to me this is an important issue that shows the deception of governments (USA and UK and OZ) with very real proof available in abundance.

        In closing – if there is such a devious and corrupt government order, then the nukes and the WMDs can help expose that – these are very real issues that can be measured and demonstrated.

        By using these leverage points we may break down the shell and find the core truth(s) and then the issues of chemtrails et al can be dealt with.

        I'm not too much of a fool, so I know that I wont sway many or any of you, I'm not here to do that. But I'll stick to my belief that the BS meter is alive and well and has withstood the test yet again. Chemtrails = hoax. Someone is having a huge belly laugh at the meme monster they created.

      Richard, I agree we must "choose our battles" and remain focused.

      Morgellons and chemtrails (as two different subjects for me) just happen to be two different areas where I've done a fair amount of research.

      The stuff being developed as weaponry and to further the agenda of those who would "terraform" the planet (including the likes of Bill Gates) and basically hold patents for all life is mind boggling. Monsanto for example has openly stated its goal is to hold patents for all life forms on earth. And the info. on developing GM crops to survive the onslaught of airborne particulates like aluminum is something I've seen elsewhere.

      At some point it becomes like a rabbit hole. The mob.gov.media. whatever it is you call it is attacking us on so many fronts all life on earth as I believe God intended it to be (created) is under siege. But that's as far as I'll go with discussion of a "created" planet.

      One can only focus efforts in so many directions … and remain truly productive.

      I respect your position. Next time I'll respond briefly and will try to steer the discussion here as you have done so the thread isn't derailed (OT).

        It simply isn't that difficult to maintain an overview of the major important issues & 'ops' that TPTB are running on & against us.

        Most people would agree that if they are spraying toxic chemicals in the air that are coming down & being inhaled by us & getting into food, soil, water, etc. – that is worth paying attention to/learning about.

        Contrails are visible because they are up high – higher than most commercial jets fly that leave chemtrails. The visible part of contrails are ice crystals – up high, the water in the exhaust is frozen-in the form of ice crystals. These contrails disappear very quickly.

        In contrast, chemtrails consist of PARTICULATE MATTER – things like barium & other heavy metals that are toxic to us. Also they contain a GMO creation called Morgellons. There is a whole lot of info in this subject available online. One of the chief researchers on it is Clifford Carnicom. He is a scientist by profession & has done a lot of scientific research, just on his own dime, & has published his results online & held seminars also.

        You will find a lot of info on Morgellons on U Tube. Also that slideshow, STRANGE DAYS, STRANGE SKIES, contains a lot of info – pix & written info too.

        So you can do the 3 little monkeys, see/speak/hear no evil thing about it if you choose – but I think it's pretty important & newsworthy – if 'our' govt is infecting us with some strange GMO creation & poisoning us with heavy metal aerosols.
