Areva was processing uranium in Lynchburg, Virginia, but in February moved that over to their uranium processing plant in Richland, Washington. Why do they choose the most beautiful areas?

Apparently AREVA stuff just plain don’t woik ! lol
I just read over at EX-SKF where tempco is dumping the AREVA water decomtaminator for the SARRY one ( toshiba/shaw )
Seems it was not performing up to snuff. Of course SARRY has had it’s ‘moments’ also, but it’s the star right now..
Plan A ( when that doesn’t work )
Plan B (when that doens’t work P
Plan A
and so it goes.
PEACH OUT ! lol
sorry I missed ya’ll on the ‘love fest’ at the other board.

I can’t believe some silly with a sense of humor actually got a peachpeace moniker. If it weren’t for a little joking around here occassionally, it would be like a dam morgue.
humor and smiles and laughs are good meds !!

“TEPCO press release Aug. 20th. Toshiba’s SARRY decontamination system, which has been plagued with problems, seems now to be working smoothly, tho not up to par: the decontamination factor is 50,000 (5 “man”), whereas the target is 1 million. It processes 25 tons/hour. By combining it with America’s (Kurion?) and France’s (AREVA) decontamination units, they [...]”

HEEYYY.. this is great news! It looks like DEMAND for nuclear fuel is being significantly impacted.
This is an important first step toward sunsetting the people-killing enterprise of “nuclear power”.

@bincbom
there is still hundreds of billions of euro investment tied up in this industry…not to mention the public and more recent private monies! but the industry isnt looking like such a good bet!!

“Sixty-two percent of French people want a “progressive halt” to the country’s nuclear energy program in the next 25 or 30 years, while 15 percent want a rapid withdrawal, according to an Ifop opinion poll published in June.”
“Socialist Francois Hollande, who polls indicate is a leading contender against Sarkozy, has said France should reduce its dependence on nuclear power. Sarkozy, meanwhile, has thrown his support behind future investment in the industry.”

Accident of September 12, 2011 on the site of CENTRACO in Marcoule (Gard)
Note n°6 of the 16/09/11 16:00
“These statements indeed indicated values of background radiation 3 to 8 times higher than the natural background noise, between 14:00 and 17:40, in the south of the site of Marcoule, with a East-West extension of approximately 140 km. This information raised the question of a bond with the dramatic accident which has occurred at the end of the morning of September 12 about the installation CENTRACO which company SOCODEI exploits on the nuclear site of Marcoule. CENTRACO is an installation of treatment of waste slightly radioactive by fusion and incineration.”
“there no were certainly massive rejections of radioactivity at the time of the accident on site CENTRACO, on the other hand one cannot still conclude that there was no radioactive rejection. Indeed official press releases raise more actions of communication than of information in measurement, for example, where 4 days after the accident, it still specify the quantity and the nature of the radionuclides present in the installation and the metal which was in the furnace at the time of the explosion, neither results of the control of the rejections in chimney of the installation, nor the volume activity of the air in and to the immediate vicinity of the installation.”

French Nuke Accident Leads India To Reexamine Its Nuclear Ambitions
Sep. 19 2011 – 12:06 pm
****The explosion at a nuclear reprocessing plant in southern France last week has added to a spate of recent bad news regarding nuclear safety. The Fukushima meltdown following the Japanese earthquake and tsunami in March prompted Germany to begin winding down its nuclear power and scale up renewable energy. Now the French accident, which killed one person and injured three, has caused India, where I’m currently traveling, concern over its own nuclear power ambitions.
India has about 5 gigawatts of installed nuclear power capacity but plans to increase that to 20 gigawatts by 2020 and to 63 gigawatts by 2032. Its goal is to supply 25 percent of its electricity needs with nuclear by 2050, according to the World Nuclear Association. The first of the several large nuclear power plants India is planning, the Russian-built Kudankulam-I, will soon be ready for operation. Following the Fukushima disaster, India began safety tests at the plant to ensure that it could withstand natural disasters.*****
