Fukushima a “ticking time bomb” — Fires now “raging” near nuclear plant — Blaze doubles in size; “Smoke rising from wide areas” — Concern over fallout of highly radioactive material; Officials closely watching radiation levels (VIDEO)

NHK World, May 1, 2017 (emphasis added): Wildfire continues in Fukushima — A wildfire has been raging for more than 2 days near the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant… The area is part of a zone designated as “no-entry” due to high radiation levels… Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures and the Self-Defense Forces are using helicopters to fight the blaze. They are also looking at the possibility of using ground crews. Footage from an NHK helicopter on Monday morning showed smoke rising from wide areas and fires burning in several locations

Mainichi, May 1, 2017: Wildfire rages in highly radioactive Fukushima mountain forest — A fire broke out in a mountain forest near the crippled Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant on the evening of April 29, consuming an area approximately 20 hectares in size, according to prefectural authorities… As the fire continued to spread, however, helicopters from the GSDF, Fukushima Prefecture and other parties on May 1 resumed fire extinguishing operations from around 5 a.m. … As of May 1, there were no major changes to radiation levels in the heart of Namie and other areas near the fire scene, according to the Ministry of the Environment. “We will continue to closely watch changes in radiation doses in the surrounding areas,” said a ministry official.

Common Dreams, May 1, 2017: Sparking Fears of Airborne Radiation, Wildfire Burns in Fukushima ‘No-Go Zone’; Contaminated forests such as those outside fallout sites like Fukushima and Chernobyl ‘are ticking time bombs’ — A wildfire broke out in the highly radioactive “no-go zone” near the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant over the weekend, reviving concerns over potential airborne radiation… Local officials were forced to call in the Japanese military… In a blog post last year, Anton Beneslavsky, a member of Greenpeace Russia’s firefighting group who has been deployed to fight blazes in nuclear Chernobyl, outlined the specific dangers of wildfires in contaminated areas. “During a fire, radionuclides like caesium-137, strontium-90 and plutonium rise into the air and travel with the wind,” Beneslavsky wrote. “This is a health concern because when these unstable atoms are inhaled, people become internally exposed to radiation.” Contaminated forests such as those outside fallout sites like Fukushima and Chernobyl “are ticking time bombs,” scientist and former regional government official Ludmila Komogortseva told Beneslavsky. “Woods and peat accumulate radiation,” she explained “and every moment, every grass burning, every dropped cigarette or camp fire can spark a new disaster.”

Sputnik News, May 1, 2017: Japanese Authorities Fighting Wildfire in Evacuation Zone Near Fukushima NPP… There were no reports either about the wind direction or the changes in the background radiation level in relation to the fire.

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire. We don't need no water let that motherfucker burn, burn motherfucker burn.

Stop worrying over something that can't be fixed or stopped. Enjoy the time we have left.

    Jesus will fix everything 🙂

    • Byrian419

      First 🙂 lol

    • Byrian you are a disgrace. begone!

      • Byrian419

Oh I'm sorry, do you know something I don't?

Is it going to be fixed?

        Can it be stopped?

          • Byrian419

No I'm concerned, my interest is in making people realize it's NEVER going to be fixed and it's NEVER going to stop. I'm concerned that you people are worrying yourself to DEATH. Yes FUKUSHIMA is a life killer but WORRYING about something that can't be fixed isnt doing you any good either. My suggestion is to enjoy life and try to stop worrying.

ADMIN does this really make me a TROLL or are the majority of people on here BITCHES that WINE AND CRY when they don't get there way?

            • How about a little whine with your cheese? spell much idiot. begone.

No one here is "worrying themselves to death" sounds like something a paid troll would say…..

The fear is worse than the internal radiation…..shameful. Amazed that admin lets your paid disruptor meme continue here.

It is appalling. really. Have you even added ANY VALUE? no, because that is not your intention.

I very much agree with you, for whatever that's worth. You must remember though, that in most cases, it's all about the poster, not the issue. Your questions re: "the fix" are rational and spot on, and, unfortunately, unanswerable.

                    • Byrian419

stock, I bring value. Last summer you agreed that the Bible CHANGES I listed here were in fact taking place in your very 1997 KJV Bible. You wanted my spreadsheets so I emailed them to you.

I provided links, videos, testimonies, etc. about how and why it's taking place but you label me a TROLL cause you're blind or scared or whatever.

I could care less about who here likes me.

                    • You didn't email shit, although you claimed to several times.

And the fact that you "remember" the date shows that you are using the dossier.

Imagine that. I am on several "lists" and have several dossiers. Great, mission accomplished, partly.

A normal person would care if 100% of the group he spent 90% of his free time with did not like him. BOOM

                    • Byrian419

It's OK stock we both know who's telling the truth about your 1997 Bible and the CHANGES that I brought to your intention, then YOU wanted my spreadsheets. I emailed them yes several times, for what ever reason you didn't get them then I apologise and still don't understand why you didn't get them after several attempts. But fact of the matter is I know and YOU know what the truth is. You can lie all you want but you'll have to answer for that someday.

That's not even the bad shit (like personal stuff).

And still, prominent ENEnews posters wonder why they aren't considered.

                    • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

oops, disinfo Farthington. You misquote me.

You have done some research and you have some intelligence but you come off as insipid, uncouth, cryptic. Didnt you say you have killed the earth…that you were going to die several days ago, that you are an unappreciated genius (writing simplicies code before your time). Even your useful info is so obscurely or obliquely referenced, nobody can get it unless they know already. Whats the point of that?

                    • FaunaLord Farthington MacMananus

I didn't say I was a genius. I didn't say I killed earth (I said civilization), that was a rhetorical response to autobot (equating me to being pro-nuke and being death).

But hey, maybe some of that is true, who knows?

Btw, if you hadn't noticed, some people have found some of my posts interesting (maybe).

I mean, if I directly mention nuclear damage, crap like the dairy industry, mutagenic damage from glyphosate etc, with numerous links, not ALL of that is super obscured.

I am the lord running the show, haven't you heard?

                    • FaunaLord Farthington MacMananus

                      Oh yeah, again.

If I remember correctly, I said "I'll be dead soon anyway. 3 days or so."

Yeah, maybe the second sentence wasn't related to the first. But hey, I hear having arrhythmia and other heart issues along with significant b12 deficiency and being alcoholic isn't necessarily super conducive to staying alive.

Never run straight, as they say.

                    • CodeShutdown CodeShutdown

Farth, ask yourself what you wish to achieve by posting. What face you wish to put forth and why. If you are succeeding, then you are.

'I am the lord running the show, haven't you heard?'

can you explain what you wish people to get out that? Megalomania? Enlightenment? Confusion?

What do you get out of it? Some satisfaction? An alcoholic with seemingly easy to overcome maladies and deficiencies, indulging in arcane innuendo and crass obtuse commentary. On the other hand its simply great you keep em short!

But I say carry on! Its your style, this is your art, your effort. Maybe its great and I cant appreciate it…or perhaps thats what you wish people to believe, balanced by dark cultivated nonchalance. What hoops the ego makes us jump through!

    • There are small spikes in radiation levels showing up on the Japanese ATMC monitoring network. Start with the Kitaibaraki and Takahagi monitoring stations South of Fukushima, and work your way down the East coast of Japan. Some Eastern in land stations are also showing the a spike in background levels.

      • The spikes are also showing up in on the ATMC Tokyo monitors. When I looked last night Australian time, the Nuclear Emergency Tracking Centre Tokyo monitors were also showing a background increase.

If you click the Animate button at the left bottom of the Nuclear Emergency Tracking Centre map, you will see the 24 hr background level increases reflexed in the number of stations showing elevated levels over a 24 hour period.

Since yesterday the wind direction has changed to a northerly direction so in the animation you see the elevate levels moving from the southern stations to the northern stations on the NETC animation map.

Most of the costs will not be seen and will remain hidden behind curtains and inside hospice centers worldwide..the human butcher shops are now ramping up as I type… and the rich are seeing to it that no one has any health insurance worth a crap.. so that they can grab cash from all the human livestock..not in their exclusive clubs.

  • Japanese radiation monitoring stations indicating background increases in the last 24 hours.

There are small spikes in radiation levels showing up on the Japanese ATMC monitoring network. Start with the Kitaibaraki and Takahagi monitoring stations South of Fukushima, and work your way down the East coast of Japan. Some Eastern in land stations are also showing the a spike in background levels.

The spikes are also showing up in on the ATMC Tokyo monitors.

The Nuclear Power Industry is Desperate

The nuclear industry is pushing for a so-called “Nuclear Renaissance,” which they hope will assure a future when nuclear power dominates energy production.

Why are these businesses spending millions of dollars on advertising now? Quite simple: the nuclear power industry is desperate to get the nuclear fuel cycle and new plant construction started before people get informed, and the booming renewable energies make them obsolete.

Wind and solar power generation is growing at about 40% a year compounded. This outpaces new nuclear generation by far, despite the current higher cost of generation. The only thing limiting the growth is the current lack of supply which, along with new investment, is coming on quickly. Renewable generation companies are some of the hottest issues on Wall Street today. Insiders say the cost of renewable generation will drop to a competitive level within the next three to seven years, through much more supply coming online and with new technological advances.

    What happened?

All I saw today is a bad rash of mitosis.

They puke and another one is cloned.

Today, they are desperate and the good people of this site are partialy to blame. 🙂

They even admit it now. Nobody can fix Fukushima.

    And that's on them…

  • Jebus Jebus

You know the nuclear industry is desperate when…

You know the nuclear power industry is getting desperate when it solicits its CEOs to start piling on ghost-written op-eds in publications chosen for their reach to key audiences. And you know the industry is really desperate when it brings out big guns like a couple of paid-for former U.S. Senators to support nuclear power in The Hill newspaper, which, as its name implies, is aimed at current legislators. And you know the industry is super desperate when it pulls out none other than Rudy Giuliani, who continues stuffing his wallet with nuclear-powered green.

    • Jebus,

Like a Bronto sinking into the primordial ooze, they are desperate, but nevertheless, potentially really dangerous in their death throes….

So joust them, expose them, now is the time for the death blow. not the stupid arse Renaissance they spend $2B per year to try to convince people with propaganda and paid disruptors of the internet.

America’s nuclear power operators getting desperate for tax-payer subsidies

The industry’s pitch is part economic, part environmental. A plant shutting down would devastate a local economy, they say. And, nuclear waste and water consumption issues aside, zero-carbon nuclear plants are better suited than natural gas or coal to fight climate change, they say.

The claim to environmental credentials has drawn jeers from nuclear power’s traditional critics.

“When did highly carcinogenic toxic waste become green?” said Eric Epstein, a longtime nuclear power watchdog in Pennsylvania.

    • Jebus, Yep, as I predicted years back, they would be playing the "fight carbon" card big time. THEY appear to be winning. Shameful.

      • Jebus Jebus

Your stuck on carbon and they are not winning.

They wouldnt be here if they were winning.

The meme is not the movement.

Intelligent people know it's not just about the carbon load.

        Lets try ecological change, instead.

        • Jebus Jebus

I want to add that, they wouldn't be shutting them down if they were winning.

They wouldn't be going bankrupt, if they were winning.

They wouldn't be begging for your money, if they were winning.

They wouldn't have to farm out their best and brightest as shills on websites, if they were winning.

They would be able to fix Fukushima if they were winning.

The Ocean wouldn't be dying if they were winning…

          • jebus, the ocean would be dying if they were winning.

Also, they extracted $8 Billion from rate payers in New York, I believe they will get Ohio and Illinois too.

They are winning based on the "fighting carbon meme". Hence I have railed against it for years.

They can win against all odds, by bribery, by corruption of the regulators and politicians.

Don't think they can't win, based solely on economics or what is right. You must fight them, if you wish to, on the basis of what is effective to prevent a win.

They don't give a hoot about Fukushima if they can cover it up, that just adds to their arrogance. "There was no Fukushima nuclear disaster" is one article THEY have wrote.

Economics will help, but WE are far from winning.

And they are not in general sending out their best and brightest to pollute the web-0-sphere….they are hiring at probably $40,000 Full Time Equivalent per year, with a dossier, and playbook.

            • Jebus Jebus

Oh, I did not say anyone was winning.

Pretty obvious no creature is. Large or small.

You missed the sarcasm, on their best and brightest.

But they are losing. Inevitable. Evidenced by the dollar. There is no time left for nuclear.

It's a movement in flux. It will happen.

It seems to me there is no time left on this planet for those who do not see, there is very little time left for a climate change. A paradigm shift. It's happening.

There is no time left for a seventy year old monolithic failed finite technology.

There is no time left for any fossil fuel. Uranium included.

There is no patience left for those who ignore the obvious.

I see so many see now, that there is no time for losers.

I see many, many who are doing something positive within their means.

I see those few who still choose to, "pick a statement" to support their disdain for anyone who tries to use their tremendous resources, to push on the paradigm shift.

It's happening, and I have a great hope that enough will see the obvious before we are out of time.

The future, after me, is why I post here…

            • enoughalready45 enoughalready45

They did succeed in Illinois in getting their bailout. Now they use that win to try and do the same in other states. How did they win in Illinois? Big environmental groups made a deal to get renewables, Exelon is politically influential $$ in Illinois and the fear of Trump being elected scared the rest of the enviros to go along and get something in the state for renewables before Trump pulled the plug on the Clean Power Plan.

Yes nuclear is fighting to remain but renewables are surging forward. I think we anti-nuclear people will win eventually but the nuclear industry is slowing progress on renewables, Hope we don't have another meltdown before we move on to a truly clean renewable future.

              • Jebus Jebus

My take is Illinois had been established as the home of nuclear power long ago. Of course the money is fresh there. I might add one of the most corrupt states. Always has been.

4 out of previous 7 Illinois governors went to prison

                      January 30, 2013 (CHICAGO) —
Of Illinois' last seven governors, four have ended up in prison.
Rod Blagojevich was governor from 2002 to 2009. He was convicted of numerous corruption charges in 2011, including allegations that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's old Senate seat. He is currently serving a 14-year sentence at a federal prison in Colorado.

Blagojevich was impeached on this date, January 30, four years ago.

Dan Walker, governor from 1973 through 1977, pleaded guilty to bank fraud and other charges in 1987 related to his business activities after leaving office. He spent about a year and a half in federal prison.

Otto Kerner, governor from 1961 through 1968, spent three years in prison after being convicted of bribery related charges.

Nuclear weapons are about to be banned and we need your voice!

In one of its final acts of 2016, the United Nations General Assembly adopted with overwhelming support a landmark resolution to begin negotiations on a treaty prohibiting nuclear weapons. This historic decision heralds an end to two decades of paralysis in multilateral nuclear disarmament efforts.

Throughout June and July of 2017, governments will negotiate the ban on nuclear weapons at the United Nations. WILPF and our coalition are hitting the streets to celebrate and also demand a good treaty that prohibits these weapons of mass destruction once and for all!

The Women’s March to Ban the Bomb is a women-led initiative building on the momentum of movements at the forefront of the resistance, including the Women’s March on Washington. It will bring together people of all genders, sexual orientations, ages, races, abilities, nationalities, cultures, faiths, political affiliations and backgrounds to march and rally at 12 PM -4PM Saturday, June 17th 2017 in New York City!

Israel`s Declining Sperm Quality Tied To Depleted Uranium Exposure

    By Tim King

    15 April, 2010

The research confirmed that in 10 years, the average concentration of sperm among donors declined from 106 million cells per cubic centimeter to 67 million per cubic centimeter. The rate of sperm motility has also declined: from 79 to 67 percent, although the profile of donors did not change over that period; they are still young, healthy and do not smoke."[1]

Haimov-Kokhman says the problem is not entirely unique; the quality of sperm has also declined in a number of Western countries. But in Israel he says, it has been particularly rapid.

"If we keep going at this rate, a decline of 3 million cubic centimeters of sperm cells per year, we`ll reach an average of 20 million in 2030. The World Health Organization defines this as fertility impairment."

I felt like hell last week when some nasty black dusty crap blew into west Texas and I thought it was Chinese coal plants (and probably some was). But now I see the Fukushima wildfires are surging across the jet stream with new vigor. I'm afraid there is nowhere to hide, but some precautions obviously will help. Open windows are still a no-no since 2011. The rain and snow is not your friend. Carry an umbrella. Don't drink the tap water obviously.

Now with the new proposal to just throw all the waste into the ocean we see a return to the controversial suggestions of early in the disaster. Shaped charges to push the Daiichi mountainside into the lagoon. That is the capitulation plan we all feared and now it might actually be revisited in part. The coria are uncontained so what else can they hope to accomplish? We are all pretty well screwed. The question remains do you want to slow down jet stream fallout killing billions or do you want to get it all…

And put a big X in the water(RED) where the USS Ronald Reagan was!! Thats 40 kbq/m2..or 40000 bq/m2. Thats a thyroid dose for sure..and then..they DRANK the radioative water from the R/O seawater system. R/O does not remove radioactive products.

Interesting topic jec, I'm not a proponent for a dose per cubic meter for perceiving the laid settlement at arrival in X of the initial plume during the first days. It was concentrated and much higher than the outdated cumulative deposit which could continue to rise in certain areas. This example of x release per total volume comes out at 33Bq per cubic meter, which is not a helpful soft shoe dance realizing what the sailors got. A 33Bq mean concentration is not exactly a metallic taste, which it was.

Please keep in mind, everybody, that the Fukushima accident killed or injured nobody, and there was no property damage outside the plant.

If you genuine evidence of health effects, on human or other flora or fauna, you might try to contact the WHO, UNSCEAR, major universities such as MIT, Oxford, major journals like Scientific American, not to mention the governments of Japan, the US, the UK, China etc.

All of those organizations have been looking wholeheartedly for evidence linking Fukushima directly with health impacts, without success.

Some people just don't like good news.

    • FaunaLord Farthington MacMananus

Keep in mind that indeed this guy is making it much easier to notice bullshit.

I'm gonna repeat this, since it's "insignificant" compared to the actual extent of the damage. Particularly considering TEPCO, US, Japan, etc government's continual lies.

"According to a 2012 Yomiuri Shimbun survey, 573 deaths have been certified as "disaster-related" by 13 municipalities affected by the Fukushima nuclear disaster. These municipalities are in the no-entry, emergency evacuation preparation or expanded evacuation zones around the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant. A disaster-related death certificate is issued when a death is not directly caused by a tragedy, but by "fatigue or the aggravation of a chronic disease due to the disaster".[60]"

      Discernment and dilligence.

      • Yourmomma

Again, you're confusing radiation effects with human-induced panic. Panic created by people such as yourself.

Yourmomma, how do you know how many deaths occurred or not due to the tremendous quantity of deadly fallout from Fukushima? Did you make any study? Did you try to even look into it? Note that there is a huge range of estimates about Chernobyl,…from some 6000 to over a million. The smaller estimate has been debunked…the higher estimate stands. Millions were affected detrimentally. For you to say that the four explosions/meltdowns at Fukushima caused no death and suffering is either a peak of misinfo or a peak of ignorance. Yep , 2000 + something manmade nuclear isotopes..all unknown to life on this planet and thus is no match for it..

Now that the fire has doubled in size and they are worrying-

Do you think those same Japanese idiot officials will halt burning nuclear waste at their other inland incinerators until this fire is out???

Then of course afterwards of the wild fire, these NUT JOBS will restart their incinerators again and burn nuclear waste.

So what in hell have they learned???

Like I said 2 years ago- Japan should be bombed off the map and then there is a better possibility the radiation could be stopped.

In fact, Japan is toast now! and their economy is a just a plain joke. Stock-market, yen and everything else- just plain useless!!! Valueless!!!

  • Checkmate

And the 2020 sports show is going to be a joke if anyone is around. Oh yes, I forgot they will be having Japan robots directing the foreign athletes around as there probably won't be any Japan citizens alive.

I'm not being funny- just very sad…

Simply put, nuclear facilities are no longer cost effective. They were intended as an alternative to dirty fossil fuels and expensive green energy, but neither of those are as problematic as they used to be. It seems as if the industry has no prospects left.

They might as well push the button. It wont take as long to die.

By the way, the ultra long antenna is for long wave. It the only thing that gets through to the subs when they are submerged. They can't answer back. They can only do as told.
