Fukushima residents call TEPCO nuke disaster report ‘sloppy’ and ‘false’
Mainichi
June 21, 2012

(TEPCO)’s final report on the Fukushima nuclear disaster has triggered a major backlash from prefectural residents and authorities who call it weak and even laced with falsehoods, it has been learned.

[…]

Yoshihiro Koyama, head of Fukushima Prefecture’s nuclear safety measures division [said] “We still don’t know what happened in the cores of the No. 1, 2 and 3 reactors, among other unclear information.

[…]

Meanwhile, Mayor Tamotsu Baba of the village of Namie points out a significant fabrication of data in TEPCO’s report. While the document states that “TEPCO employees visited the village of Namie from March 13, 2011” to inform city authorities of details regarding the crisis, Baba says that they heard from TEPCO officials for the first time only in late March.

“This report is not just sloppy in content — it includes falsified information,” said Baba, who is expected to seek charges against the former TEPCO president and other officials for violating a liaison pact by not reporting to the Namie Municipal Government immediately after the outbreak of the disaster.

A 71-year-old resident who evacuated from Tomioka — inside the evacuation zone around the plant — and now lives at a temporary housing complex in the prefectural city of Koriyama, also criticized the report, saying that it is likely TEPCO may still be hiding information from residents.

No truthful disclosure from Big Tepco Nuke … No surprises here ..

Give it to 'em slowly, don't upset the apple cart …

Big power companies are so dependent on the complexity and scale of nuclear, to guarantee their hegemony over the grid …

They are revolted by independent producers and a smart grid, which ensures their obsolescence, and is an existential threat to them …

So they lie cheat steal murder obfuscate to protect their status quo monopoly over our lives "they have the power" companies …

    Peace …

Giving bad news, slowly progressing worse, is less shocking, allow acceptance, then give just a little worse, soon they don't realize, just how bad it really is. Kind of like putting your dinner in a nice warm bath and gradually bringing to a boil, they don't know they are in trouble until it is too late. Our government is using the same strategy with our economy.

  • If… Yoshihiro Koyama, [said] “We still don’t know what happened in the cores of the No. 1, 2 and 3 reactors, among other unclear information."

Then, I would go with the exact opposite.

They KNOW EXACTLY what happened to cores 1,2 and 3.
(Or at least they have a very good idea.)

As far as the "other unclear [nuclear] information", I would say it's VERY CLEAR and they just aren't saying anything. And they're not going to either.

I'm with you ChasAha and nedlifromvermont.

Tepco has been falsifying data for decades.

      "The Japan Times – Sept. 1, 2002
      Repair Reports Falsified

The president and chairman of Tokyo Electric Power Company are likely to step down to take responsibility for a scandal involving false reports on inspections and repairs at the company's nuclear power plants, sources said Saturday.

Tepco, the nation's largest utility, is suspected of concealing 29 cases of damage at three nuclear power plants during the 1980s and 1990s."

Following up this article..US army was planning to drop coolant onto Fukushima plants by airplane

Mr. Matsuda admitted “China syndrome” is happening in Fukushima in his interview. (cf.Corium may have been penetrated completely 15 hours after meltdown)

    He commented like this below

In the night of 3/14/2011, underground rumblings were heard in Fukushima plant area, which was caused by melted fuel underground. (He described the sound as “doon doon”.)
This is when Yoshida, the former chief of Fukushima stated “I might die here.”, reported to Tepco’s head office that they were going to evacuate all the nuclear workers except for selected members. Reported head office of Tepco proposed former Prime minister, Kan to evacuate nuclear workers from Fukushima plants on 3/15/2011.
This was after the explosion of reactor3 (11:01 3/14/2011)

Just mentioning this development… As it appears that tepco knows more about the corium of reactors 3, and 1; Than they are willing to admit too…

  • many moons

That sound might be similar to the ones people were hearing in the northern hemisphere last winter time. There are still many videos on you tube with a strange noise. It seems difficult…the connection but the TEPCO plant workers could really say how those sounds were being made…hell those nuke scientists didn't believe that a china syndrome was impossible.
