Also from today: Intense M5.2 quake hits Fukushima -- Centered just miles from plant (MAP)
The quake occurred on June 28 at 14:52 JST and the spike began around 17:00 JST.
The charts measure radiation dose in micrograys per hour, equivalent to microsieverts per hour (Source)

Seems to be a correlation between Eqs (even smallish ones), radiation spikes, and other weather conditions. See "Related Posts" for this article.

Any translation to the charts?
WHERE were these spikes? Was it somewhere in the plant? And if so, what part had these readings?
I think it is important to have some accuracy – especially as you demand accurate information from Tepco and government.

Spikes of 11 and 42 uSv for 4 hours in Fukushima Prefecture.
Based on what I know, what I've read and my gut feeling.
I think that Fukushima's Nuclear Power Plants will be abandoned by September of 2012. They have known from the start that ANY sort of recovery or decontamination was not doable. The entire folly has been to delay, mislead, deny, lie and keep money flowing as long as possible.
Everything from the building of the tent on Unit 1, to the covering of the Spent Fuel and removing fallen walls on Unit 4, are not fixes. Just temporary band-aids for something that those 'in the know' already knew.
There is NO WAY to fix it or stop it. Not really. Not at this time or anytime in the near future.
(near future=decades at the earliest)
The population needs to be informed so at least some can decide if they wish to take mitigation measures or not.

SP: That would be Obama's worst nightmare for the final stretch of the presidential election. He is praying more than some of the victims.

Strong prognosis. I am sure they desperately want to escape from this mass, but the global nuclear fanatics will not let them. Such a thing can end this industry in any form, showing how dangerous and impotent it is.

Hi entropy. Hope all is well with you. I have been looking at some old threads, wondering about folks who used to comment here. What an amazing, ever-changing community. The nuke show show goes on, getting threadbare, and ours goes on. I'd like to believe the truth is spreading.
