Maybe you guys know Rich Misty at HP. He has this to say about what we’re seeing. He’s pretty knowledgeable. I learn stuff all the time from him.
“The heat from the exposed fuel causes lighter radionuclides like Iodine, Cesium, and Strontium to vaporize. When the vapor is released mixed with steam it begins to cool as it rises. As it cools the radionuclides condense out into microscopic particles, a very fine dust. This dust is carried on the wind. When it drops out of the atmosphere it is called “radionuclide fallout”. So this steam is not pure steam, it is steam mixed with vaporized fission products, and it is highly radioactive and persistent in the environment.

I live in a quiet town in the mountains of Maine. Most of these people don’t have a clue this is still going on and are oblivious to it.

I actually took the time to watch a baseball game on TV yesterday. It was like being in the land of OZ.
No mention of anything menacing during the news breaks and every commercial saying BUY, BUY, BUY, and you life will be great!

My theory is most of them are sort of aware subconsciously but feel they are not allowed to mention it.
For instance, a lot of iodine was sold out up here in the Pacific NW soon after 311.
So, could it be that people know, but they’re just not sayin’?
Some strange sociological phenomenon that causes the group to clam up and refuse to admit the danger “within” their group?
Could it be that there are only one or two Paul Revere’s in a population of several million, ready to jump on the horse and sound the alarm?

All I can say is I’m definitely running into the “what radiation” phenomenon as well. Blank looks when you mention the “R” word. (Even my cat thinks I’m crazy, I fear).
Suffice it to say, we do know there are 3 reactors in meltdown with #4 SFP smoking away continuously with no cover, so whatever it’s emitting can’t be anything good. Plus bioaccumulation may cause the death of millions all over the world.

Lots Iodine sold – here in scandinavia means 101% uninformed folks. My guess is that 101% dont know, dont want to know, and if know, live in total denial. Blisters on bare feet, hurting eyes is “just the yellow pollen.”

I don’t know how you can link Al Gore with the Catholic Church. Al Gore is a Southern Baptist and God only knows if he’s a practicing one, at that.
Anyway, the Catholic Church is against birth control, abortion, capital punishment, and euthanasia. They participate in Right to Life rallies in Washington, D.C. Al Gore. as well as members of the Obama admnistration, the Bush family, Rockefellers, and others are for abortions, family planning, and population control.
Gore has made comments to the effect of limiting the population to save the planet and reduce global warming.
The Catholic Church is expressly against all population control, period. Catholic Bishops have protested and marched to oppose muclear energy as well.

Everyone thinks I’m nuts… it is infuriating. The only two people who are actually concerned about this situation is my Mom and my husband. I suspect I have just talked about this enough that they are sick of listening to it.
Sometimes I wish I was ignorant to this too. I mean, if this is going to kill us all, what are we going to do about it? I think I’d rather not know. Although, if I don’t die from the immediate fallout, at least when I get cancer later on, I won’t blame myself.

I’m off to Costco but I want to warn you all that the June 18 event you can see recorded at Lucas’ webpage led to a decided radiation spike between Jue 19-21 in the US at radent.
This event is going to produce a very large spike! People should be aware and prepared.

If this is as bad as it looks, I don’t think that they have the expertise or the will to fix it.
Don’t forget that article that xdrfox posted, saying that most of the workers are hired by TEPCO sub contractors, and have little if any, Nuke Plant training. They are little more than day workers you would hire outside of Home Depot.

Before I came to Enenews, I looked at the webcam and saw heavy smoke from reactor 4 just at daybreak. It was swirling and darker than steam so I came here to see if there was discussion about it. Should have known you would be on the ball.

I just checked the live cam and was surprised…it could be fog, but then again…I think it looks pretty strange, totally obscured now.
If it’s not fog, this would be going on the third day that there have been unusual amounts of ??? spewing from the plant…if it keeps up I will be worried…

if you watch the timelapse from yesterday, near noon the same thing happens (screen totally gets covered with ‘fog’). i believe, it was around the same time frame as it is now totally obscured, which may mean this is a controlled release. just a thought, but even if it is ‘controlled’, this is a lot of vapor to be released.

and since fukushima is on the sea, here is a key part to point out in my opinion:
Sea fogs are always advection fogs, because the oceans don’t radiate heat in the same way as land and so never cool sufficiently to produce radiation fog. Fog forms at sea when warm air associated with a warm current drifts over a cold current and condensation takes place. Sometimes such fogs are drawn inland by low pressure, as often occurs on the Pacific coast of North America. funny they call this radiation fog also, ironic, isn’t it

yes, whatever it is, it is not good. heck, let me just say, that even if this is ‘fog’, it doesn’t make it any better because that ‘fog’ is just rolling out from fukushima and absorbing all the radiation steam. notice i am not saying this is fog, but if it is, that doesn’t make it any better, especially since the winds are blowing inland.

i was actually up watching that smoke event, and it was epic to say the least. most i’ve seen personally coming out of reactor 3, but i read that they had a plan to inject more boron into reactor 3, so maybe that steam or whatever was just the reactor reacting to the boron being added…just a thought. their time frame of injection was sunday into monday, i believe.

Working and hiking in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have seen my share of fogs rolling from the Pacific. In the East Bay area where I live, we experience sometimes tule fog, which I just found out, is also called the radiation fog. The tule fog can be so dense, that you cannot see the front of your car, while driving. I wonder how on few occasions, I made it back home through this fog: more lucky then smart

i have seen such fog, with me visiting the bay of california several times a year. more in the summer do i see a lot of fog, and that is why i don’t count out the possibility of fog like everyone here seems to. but like i said, watching the vids it doesn’t seem like fog, and could be steam from reactor 4 blowing inland causing the fog effect, but even if it is fog there, that doesn’t make it any better.
