German Gov’t Study: Children living near nuclear plants have double leukemia rates, high incidence of solid cancers — Reactors cannot prevent radiation from escaping (VIDEO)
LINK TV, Oct. 21 — Dr. Helen Caldicott appeared on the LINK TV program Earth Focus to discuss the Fukushima crisis and other nuclear issues.
Caldicott received her medical degree from the University of Adelaide Medical School. In 1977 she joined the staff of the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston, and taught pediatrics at the Harvard Medical School from 1977 to 1978. She worked to establish the group International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985. -Wikipedia

- Chernobyl health effects are the biggest coverup in the history of medicine. WHO, IAEA, UN all covered up effects.
At 7:20 in
- German gov’t study on children under 5 that lived within 5km of reactors showed double leukemia and high incidence of solid cancers… deformities (teratogenesis). The closer to reactor, the higher the malignancy.
At 10:15 in
- Nuclear plants cannot prevent tritium (Radioactive hydrogen) from escaping… highly carcinogenic.
- It is probably what’s causing the cancers in the kids that live near power plants in Germany.

IAEA team praises Japan after Fukushima visit
Oct 14, 2011
A team of experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency praised Japan on Friday for steps it has taken to reduce radiation exposure for the public, particularly children, near the crippled Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant.

In case anyone from Tokyo is reading:
The Trip to the Supermarket reveals, while many products have “American” names, the products are LOCALLY made. Like Nabisco, Welsh juices, Oreo Cookies. So customers not paying attention and reads the “Nabisco” name, will assume the food was made in the USA. Watch out for dates. Rice products were dated with a date that proved it was rice from last year. He said it won’t be long before the rice products will contain radioactive rice. Very informative VIDEO. Educational to all.

For Japanese people there is the OK Food blog:

Why would the Japanese want to eat food produced in the USA? Is it any better?
Report Comment
I dunno. I ASSUMED the Japanese would eat it, but prob not Bobby.

I think the Japanese know about the US contamination better than the Americans do. They can get Australian and NZ food as easily as American food there anyway.

Afaik all of the Products made in the US, NZ, Australia, etc. are radiated before shipping!

The Vegetables must come from the close environment otherwise it will be “out of tune”!
What i observed is that many People here change the Food Origin as many times as possible!
But maybe the Food from F’Shima, Miyagi, Chiba. Niigata, Nagano and Aomori is the most safest because of the surveillance!

And we also need to be vigilant here in the U.S., since our food supply is not as closely guarded as we would like to think…some examples:
Naked brand “superfruit” juices (PepsiCo) being made from Japanese fruits only hundreds of miles away from Fuku (for those who want to raise their kids to look like Godzilla or the new Earless Rabbit).
Other commenters have mentioned tea, fresh seafood, rice crackers and a host of Asian import food products. I switched to yerba mate. When in doubt, buy from the south, even the equator since radiation lingers on the 30-60 deg latitude of the N. hemisphere. But in general, Europe is even better for grains than N. America, dairy and wine too, as long as you’re avoiding Chernobyl hot pockets.
In fact, when it comes to fruits, I now buy local or S. Amer. organic or at least know the source and have that invisible fallout map in your head whenever you’re at the supermarket buying anything!

New poser here, thanks to everyone for making this such a greater site. I’ve been reading for months now and follow most every link, you people are AMAZING! The disaster that is unfolding before our very eyes is nothing less then cataclysmic a real mind fuck if you know what I mean… I’d like to offer a little positive balance back to an otherwise dismal subject, this is too everyone and for everyone.

Reactors don’t prevent radiation from escaping. On 22 OCT 2011, in Van,Eastern Turkey a 7.2 MM magnitude major earthquake killed more than 1000 people and destroyed many structures and 182 km from the epicenter two nuclear reactors V230 most dangerous vintage without containment are situated, one operating and the other shutdown for decommissioning. By comparison Fuku Daichi is 154 km from the 11March 2011 9 MM magnitude quake’s epicenter and extinction processes are being let loose. These are in the Metsamor Nuclear Plant in Yeravan, Armenia which is due for a 1000 MW nuke there(Russian ). Every year the World’s 400000 MW nuclear reactors are causing t en Bhopals even during normal operations. IAEA will tell us after tests at Metsamor whether children will fare better after the major quake. A 6 MM quake also Van soon thereafter. And people in KUDANKULAM heard the officials proclaim that the KUDANKULAM reactors are having better safety features than Fukushijma Daichi reactors. Good luck life, the dry season in India has started in right earnest with quakes, floods, landslides, air crashes, and dams along with other contraptions of modern civilizations are by their cumulative synergistic effects leaving no stones unmelted! The 3000 billion lethal doses inflicted by Fukushima are multiplying to infinity as more and more reactors come in and more and more dams inflict earthquakes ever near the reactors! And rains extreme are throwing the dam designs outside of their safe envelopes of operation! Air planes are caught in vortices of hotspots and earthquakes and crash! Speeding trains oblivious of slight but significant rail displacements crash! And bridges collapse. And dams turn round and destroy themselves. Modern civilization destroys life itself!
