Radioactive iodine spread south of nuclear plant, NHK, September 22, 2011:
A Japanese government survey shows that radioactive iodine emitted from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant spread not only northwestward but also to the south of the plant [...] at relatively high levels. [...]
Ministry officials say clouds that moved southward over the plant apparently caught large amounts of iodine 131 [...]
Iodine 131 could cause thyroid cancer through internal exposure. The ministry is therefore trying to determine at what levels the substance spread immediately after the accident [...]

2200 tests in 62 days is 35 tests a day!! is someone having a laugh!! with all the technology at thier hands and they come up with 35 tests a day in a life or death situation…..insurance mitigation…BLATANT…remember the gulf mitigation process of testing? well this is the same except they have documented the evidence against themselves!! time to sack adk i think lol!!

My sense of credibility exceeded design limits when TEPCO installed a $50 webcam to bear witness for the whole world. Like the dodgy sensor in reactor number one I swing between apathy and alarm, never quite sure what is real and what is not.

Morning Steven, regarding the “dodgy sensor”: I visited a presentation yesterday held by a nuclear physicist from the german ecologic Institute. He told us horrible facts about what the French nukers do to our river.
Anyway, I asked him about the sensor and the levels it shows and what he thinks that the sensor is broken.
He doesn’t think it is.

Sorry: “…IF he thinks the sensor is broken”.
Too early here.

Yeah B&B thanks, I didn’t really think it was busted either, just using a little poetic licence as it were.
I think the reactor is busted though.

+1 for thinking!

Poetically, painfully… yes.

… The south fallout path was prior to June 14th based on testing results. This could help explain the unexpectedly high radiation readings citizens have been obtaining. Officials said the amounts of iodine 131 were rather high but didn’t give figures. There was also no explanation why it took them until mid-Sept. to release this information.

There has been an enormous an amounts of radiation continuously being ejected for over 6 months now. Billions, possibly trillions of becquerels of the most aggressive types of nuclei known to man. Did anyone really expect anything else?
