H2 Explosions

The H2 that was produced reached the [Unit 1] reactor building (secondary containment) via one or more, still not clearly identified, paths. Initially, the presence of H2 in the building was related to the controlled vents made to limit the PC over-pressure. Another plausible hypotheses is the loss of airtightness of the upper head of the drywell which, according to studies performed in the 1990s, under high pressure and temperature conditions, could lose its hermeticity and allow gases to escape from the inside.

yes, the bolts bolts on the lids of GE Mk1s stretch under excess pressure apparently…I remember Arnie Gundersen saying this in a Fairewinds clip months ago..anyone have the link? I'll look for it…are we saying the same thing?

The dreadful reality is that if loss of coolant or other criticality problems arise, it takes hours to get the control rods up into the pressure vessel, and days to actually reach 'cold shutdown'.

Unless of course you TEPKiLL, which means you can do it anytime you like…even 9 months and 5 days (give or take a day or two) after a full core meltdown (or three)..

..if only they could apply this incredible skill to containing the radionuclides and other cancer causing DNA trashing shite that is still spewing forth from DaiichiSauna, and mitigate the eternal consequences of their profound stupidity, arrogance and corruption…
