‘Melt-through’ at Fukushima? / Govt report to IAEA suggests situation worse than meltdown, Yomiuri Shimbun, June 8, 2011:

Nuclear fuel in three reactors at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant has possibly melted through pressure vessels and accumulated at the bottom of outer containment vessels, according to a government report obtained Tuesday by The Yomiuri Shimbun.

A “melt-through”–when melted nuclear fuel leaks from the bottom of damaged reactor pressure vessels into containment vessels–is far worse than a core meltdown and is the worst possibility in a nuclear accident. [...]

    Stunned by Failed Policy

Those who are aware of the extent and scope of the worldwide DNA holocaust now underway are stunned and angered by the Failed Policy of their governments to protect public health during this crisis.

However, it is not failed policy, but policy implementation that is unfolding.

During a nuclear or biological event of this scope and magnitude, the policy in concept, is simply “quarantine in place”.

News blackouts are following crisis protocols, to contain the populace within the crisis area, in order to dampen mass migration.

The information around the Fukushima event was controlled so effectively, that the policy succeed without the use of military force or police action.

The populace exposed to the plumes stayed in place, reflecting the successful out come of the immensely tragic & criminal policy.

    • magnolia

      Spot on.

It is similar to the “failed policy” of Bush and “Brownie” during Katrina.

There was no “failed policy”, but a deliberate, criminal effort to withhold food, water and shelter from the victims, though countries around the world had sent supplies to the US, supplies that were DELIBERATELY refused by the US authorities.

The policy was a great success: many black people died, drowned or were shot; those remaining were transported to virtual concentration camps scattered throughout US, but far away from New Orleans to discourage returning.

In this instance the policy was to get people to leave the valuable waterfront areas which had been their home, rather than keep them in place, but the criminal intent is identical to the Fukushima policies you stated.

I was curious as to whether or not the explosion at R3 had already occurred when the USS Ronald Reagan (and accompanying fleet) detected radiation and fled.

Conflicting reports : “It’s unclear if the radiation was detected after an explosion at the plant Saturday leaked radioactive material, or whether it was after a similar blast Monday.”

    (from Military Times): http://www.militarytimes.com/news/2011/03/navy-ships-japan-radiation-move-031411w/

That site also includes a video in which the reporter suggests the R3 explosion had already taken place.

This is an important point, because an entire US Navy fleet doesn’t turn tail and run for no reason. These guys live in harms way, yet something came up on them unexpected and put them in full retreat, and the timing seems about right for the R3 event.

If so, this would likely indicate a sudden spike in radioactive fallout consistent with something other than a hydrogen explosion in the containment building, something even worse than the ‘worst possibility’ being suggested in this headline.

More smoke and mirrors, if I’m not mistaken.

Yeah Steven, unfortunately they are still way behind releasing the truth.

Truth is I believe that the nuclear fuel is out of the buildings at 1, 2,3 and 4.

In 1 at least, it’s in contact with groundwater. Either that or it has boiled the 5 million or so gallons of water in its basement.

Think about that, 5 million gallons of boiling extremely radioactive water.

About the Plutonium Dioxide that was released in the blast of number 3.

You have to remember at the time that Fukushima was in desperate need of diesel fuel for their generators and electricity to run the plant. The United States sent the USS Reagan and it’s carrier battle group (not the whole navy fleet).

They were reported to be steaming to Fuku and about 100 miles out when #3 blew. 100 miles in an aircraft carrier is about 3-4 hours travel time. The explosion happened just before nightly news time in the US – so all the news shows had live feeds on what was going on – because they hadn’t begun covering everything up yet.

So somebody on live TV revealed that the navy had detected “low level” radiation in the cloud and Reagan was diverting. This was met with surprise on the news, but accepted as normal. For those of us with military experience though, it meant much more. The Navy doesn’t divert an aircraft carrier on a mission. Those things are made to take on anything – (except for a MOX cloud I guess).

The later articles confirm that it probably wasn’t “low level” radiation, They confirm that the ship had a full-fledged nuclear emergency on board – took emergency evasive action for several hours, during which the air system and the water system onboard was contaminated; and then spent 3 days scrubbing every square inch and still “hot spots” remained. Then they went over to Sendai and did a couple weeks of cleanup work before leaving Japan.

Now this part is speculation on my part – but it seems like you concur that “low level” radiation…

    Report Comment

  • James2

    rest of message:

Seems like you concur that “low level” radiation wouldn’t divert a carrier battle group. So it had to be something more. You have to remember also that the Navy has the best trained and equipped nuclear engineers in the world on those ships.

I believe what they detected in that cloud was plutonium dioxide from the MOX fuel. If so, then that’s very bad. Plutonium dioxide when inhaled is nearly 100% fatal within 5 years. Anyone on the crew of the Reagan or any of the other ships in the group that possibly inhaled plutonium dioxide needs way more than the iodine tablets they gave them to survive. That goes also for anybody downwind in Japan or the United States.

And that is why immediately following, the US started evacuating the military families from Japan, in my opinion.

We simply must be truthful about this. We cannot allow them to cover it up and tell us later “oh this is what really happened” – as they are doing time and again. People need to know now. Families of those sailors deserve to know if their loved ones were exposed to a deadly toxin and will likely develop bone or lung cancer in the next 18 months.

And even more importantly, families in Japan need to know. How many folks have logged in here and asked, should I stay or should I leave? Well, with crucial information withheld or covered up, then it’s impossible to make a good decision – so they wait for more information – that may never come until it is too late.

First, seismometers ALL OVER the WORLD recorded the Japanese earthquake. Getting those countries to simultaneously fake such data on exactly the same day at just the right time with everyone keeping the secret is a ridiculous idea. Second, the entire population of Japan felt the earthquake at exactly the time they should have. Saying that they were all lying about it is even more ridiculous. Last, the displacement caused by the earthquake can already be measured. Providing excellent evidence after the fact that an earthquake occurred. Evidence that can be verified by anyone who cares to check it out. Last, as others have pointed out multiple aftershocks have occurred and are still taking place. Thus, providing even more irrefutable evidence that a great earthquake occurred off the coast of Japan. In conclusion, your parents bought your Christmas gifts when you were a child, not Santa Clause (I know it may hurt your feelings to tell you that but it’s true) and an earthquake initiated the catastrophe at Fukushima, not some imaginary super weapon.

I apologize for the sarcastic Santa Claus comment. That was uncalled for. What I should have said was the following:

I think all this fascination with HAARP, or whatever, is a desperate need to cling to the concept that mankind somehow had control over this mess (however evil that control was). When all the evidence should make you come to the exact opposite conclusion. Natural forces are in charge (earthquakes, sub-atomic particle physics) and mankind better stay on-guard in the face of them, or he will pay a heavy price.

HAARP HAARP HAARP. Here’s an idea, may be nuts, but here goes. Assuming there are nano-mox particles in the jet stream and we don’t want them to fall on our heads. HAARP, whatever else it is, does heat the upper atmosphere. If you heat the air under a cloud of mox particles, would they likely rise with the heat? If we can track clouds of particles (I’m sure we can), we could keep firing HAARP blasts to heat the air under them and force them to stay upstairs.

WellWise Features Informative Series on Fukushima Radiation

    on 08 June 2011.
Despite the relative lack of new reporting on the Fukushima nuclear reactor accident in Japan, there are ongoing developments that will affect the food supply and the future of energy resources. Natural products expert Steve Hoffman has gathered information from widespread sources to shed light on this crisis.

Independent testing continues to find elevated levels of radiation in milk, drinking water and certain foods in various U.S. cities and states.

In a special four-part series, “Fukushima in our Food,” nonprofit WellWise.org blogger Steve Hoffman, a widely recognized expert on organics, sustainability and the natural products industry, outlines the extent of the problem of radiation from the Fukushima nuclear accident, including its little-reported effect on food in the United States and Europe.

Coverage about Fukushima has largely disappeared from American mainstream media, despite recent revelations that the accident was far worse and the amount of radiation released nearly double that which was originally reported.

Among other insights, Hoffman explains that little to no official testing for Fukushima radiation is being done around the U.S., and yet independent testing continues to find elevated levels of radiation in milk, drinking water and certain foods in various U.S. cities and states.

Additionally he discusses how nuclear fallout will continue to rise until Japan gets the leakage problem under control, which foods are collecting radiation, and why ingesting radiation-contaminated foods is different than being exposed to radiation on an airplane or other external sources.

In the series, Hoffman also describes what dairy farmers in affected states are doing to reduce radiation content in milk, what can be done to minimize radiation dangers to ourselves and our families, and he offer dozens of sources for more solid facts about this disaster.

Hoffman’s series begins today, and will appear in full over the next week. Read the first in the Fukushima radiation series here.

We need to be proactive and protect ourselves and our loved ones. An environmental MD friend of mine said this:
“Many studies done by our own defense department and NASA have shown that radiation (and heavy metals, for that matter) kill you by increasing oxidative stress in the body. Those smart enough to take measures to lower heavy metals and oxidative stress will live, those who, for whatever reason (intellectual, emotional or financial) won’t will see a dramatic increase in almost every chronic disease and death. I think that is what they are trying to do.”

It’s not really related to this thread, but I read where the contamination levels of the water at the Daini plant was very low. I take that as great news meaning that the spent fuel pools at those plants aren’t leaking. That’s assuming that the report was accurate. Still, it was good news in an on-going storm of bad news.

Here’s a good article about their plans to clean the water at 1-4.

Wonder what they’re going to do with all the contaminated filters and sludge that they’re going to end up with?

Another video I made. A bit different but still relevant to why I believe the nuclear industry holds to much power:
