Title: Nuclear expert Arnold Gundersen with the first 2012 Fukushima update
Source: If You Love This Planet Radio with Dr. Helen Caldicott
Date: Feb. 11, 2012

At 20:30 in

Gundersen: They tested 3,000 kids and more than a thousand came up with not tumors, they called them lumps […]

Caldicott: […] To find thyroid bumps in children is extremely, extremely rare… I’ve seen only one in my [pediatric] medical practice […]

Gundersen: […] The only thing they’re doing right now is just monitoring it […] To see 1/3 of kids test positive for lumps in their thyroid, and we’re only 10 months into the accident here, that forebodes some real thyroid issues in the future.

the researchers at CHILD RIGHTS INTERNATIONAL NETWORK certainly know how to play the game!!

"[9 Februaru 2012] – The Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on a communications procedure which was adopted at the sixty-sixth session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, will be open for signature at a signing ceremony to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 28 February 2012 and thereafter at United Nations Headquarters.

This new Protocol will allow children to bring complaints to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child. Recognising that children, just like adults, have access to international human rights bodies, this new instrument reinforces the international system of accountability for human rights, and is a major step towards the full protection of children’s rights and the participatory approach of the CRC.

The Protocol shall be open for signature by any State that has signed, ratified or acceded to the Convention on the Rights of the Child or either of the two Optional Protocols thereto on the sale of children, child prostitution and child pornography and on the involvement of children in armed conflict.

Certified true copies of the Protocol, of which the Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish texts are equally authentic, are being printed and will be transmitted to all States as soon as possible. Electronic copies of the Protocol are posted in the United Nations Treaty Collection Web site: ."

this has cheered me up no end!! the children of japan are not legaly represented… the septemberr pettition for the children of fukushima failed because these children HAD no legal status!! this is good news!! and the organisations that support it will need financial support for their plane tickets and stuff!! πŸ™‚

"Children at risk from exposure to radiation in the Fukushima prefecture have filed a lawsuit demanding that the government transfer them to a safer location.

14 children of Fukushima, the plaintiffs of the lawsuit, go to school everyday where the contamination level of radiation is dangerously high."

  • Bobby1

Residents of Ebeye, in the Marshall Islands, who were alive at the time of the Castle Bravo nuclear test of 1954 were tested decades later, in 1993-1997. Using ultrasound and other techniques, 32.6% of them had thyroid nodules.

This was 40 years after the fact… Fukushima children already have 30% only 10 months later.

"On the atolls of Bikini and Enewetak in the Marshall Islands, the United States detonated 67 atmospheric atomic and thermonuclear weapons from 1946-1958.

For those twelve years, "the Marshall Islands experienced the equivalent of 1.6 Hiroshima-sized bombs every single day," Dr. Holly Barker, advisor to the government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, wrote in the "Seattle Post-Intelligencer" in 2005."

In other words, Fukushima children have already shown the effects, in 10 months, of 1.6 Hiroshima explosions every day for 12 years.

    • What-About-The-Kids

So tragic. πŸ™ My heart goes out to all the poor dear children and their families whose lives have been forever altered by that ungodly "Mark of the Beast" called nuclear radiation contamination.

      • Bobby1

It's the same as 23 atomic bombs exploding every day.

The families, the children, the children's future children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren etc.

It may take a while, but once the people realize what is going on here, there best be a few hundred minions headed to the electric chair.

  • charlie3

Yes, if any crime ever merited the electric chair, then Fukushima certainly does. I hope some party, perhaps a lawyer, is keeping a list of names of Japanese officials, nuke industry shills and doctors who have helped to cover up this disaster. They should all be prosecuted.

These are fantastic developments in the fight to make sure our children's health and their rights are protected! Thanks so much for some positive news, Arclight!

I'm new to posting here, but have been a silent supporter from the beginning. I'm all about making sure our children are protected! Thanks again for your efforts. πŸ™‚

    • arclight arclight

its the behind the scenes efforts of the charities/orgs behind crin that are doing the work !! but thanks! πŸ™‚

      • What-About-The-Kids

We need as much support as we can get! πŸ™‚

Our children are our hope for this planet, if we only give them the chance to make it to adulthood by being good stewards of our precious Mother Earth. So far, the adults in charge aren't setting a good example for them to emulate…so it is vital that those of us who care and are AWARE, stand up, speak up, in the name of our dear children. If not us, who will be there to protect our kids?

        • arclight arclight

totally agree! thats why enenews and other websites are so vital.. the nuclear movement in the uk is so oppressed with overt surveillance and the general paranoia that goes with it that it is completely fractured.. i do not know one other protester and if i go to meetings or protests i will forgo my opportunity to get off the "domestic extremist database"!! so for me, enenews is a vital outlet for my fight!! the uk websites are more for info there are no effective blogs like enenews in the uk.. or europe as far as i am aware!

no one is aware of the full plight of these children and the BBC et al have been playing it down! criminal!! just as they "play down" the european accidents and under reporting of emmissions!!

          • What-About-The-Kids

I agree, it is criminal and frankly, frightening that there are people in places of authority to whom our very lives and the lives of our children we entrust, who seem to be lacking in an ability to feel compassion or concern for our kids. I can only think it must be due to what Helen Caldicott called the "reptilian brain." Simply never evolved fully, thus their lack of compassion and no moral compass to guide them. πŸ™

    talikin about the guardian πŸ™‚

heres dear sweet helen TRYING too explain the truth too george monibot who only read part of the report by the acadamy of sciences…. george thinks the children of fukushima will be just fine and dandy! he says the un know the truth about these things and that is why the un petition for the children of fukushima failed… but we know different! eh enenewsers?? then helen gives him a good medical qualified answer (poor george got an intellectual spanking… so he ran from there and attacked busby instead using the guardian newspaper as a buffer against ridicule.. err thats my take on it!! πŸ™‚

Dr. Helen Caldicott and George Monbiot: Nuclear Energy 2-2 Democracy NOW!

    • What-About-The-Kids

Way to go, Helen! Monbiott shows nothing but pure cowardice, hiding behind Daddy Guardian. He should be forced to do community service in Fukushima hospitals, attending to the growing numbers of sick children. Only if forced to confront REALITY as it stares him in the face, will someone of his low moral caliber ever admit the dark, sad truth of what is transpiring there…
