Nuclear Expert Arnie Gundersen, Fairewinds Energy Education: On my birthday two truly appalling nuclear events occurred, or at least came to light.
The first one is in Japan, and within Japan is making a lot of people angry. It’s certainly a true scandal and within Japan a lot of people are very, very concerned. (More on scandal here)
The mainstream media in the United States hasn’t covered it, but it is a real big deal. [...]

Solidarity Party in Santa Fe to Support the Los Alamos National Laboratory 6! -Video

6 January 2012
Published on Jan 6, 2013
Six activists — Janet Greenwald, Wind Euler, Summer Abbott, Cathie Sullivan, Pam Gilchrist, and Barbara Grothus — were arrested on August 6, 2012 when they blocked entrance to Los Alamos National Laboratory as part of the Nuke Free Now week of action. The LANL 6 are anti-nuclear, antiwar and environmental activists calling attention to the dangers and harm of obsolete nuclear weapons, as well as the devastating U.S. policy of ignoring the real national security threat of catastrophic climate change. They are charged with trespass, disobeying a police officer, and obstructing movement. Each defendant faces up to 6 months in jail. Their trial is taking place on Thursday, January 9 at the Los Alamos Municipal Court.

Not enough passive direct action is discussed on this MB… These folks are heroes… They will be left uncovered at best or vilified at worst by our globalist media… Our so called free govt will keep/see them jailed and harassed on trumped up charges too
Listened to Bob Hanson on Climate Change on the Commonwealth Club NPR the other night and non violent direct action was the first thing he spoke to…
OCCUPY!!!!!
It is only OK to occupy the streets in this country, when you riot and destroy public and private property – when it is in favor/supporting, the cover up of a child abusing coach for profit and a football program – Ala Penn State – no arrests were made… At the same time, 10,000s of Occupiers were being arrested (many on faux felony charges) or beaten and gassed in the streets for using their right to peaceful assembly… Go Figure!!!!
We live in a poisoning toxic corpo globalist border less controlled nation state dedicated to profit of the few and thralldom and slavery for the rest what ever the costs .. Not to mention being engaged in an endless global state terrorist wars for profit for these same border less few..
Read what Salvador Allende had to say about this in the early 70s before he was rubbed out!!! Another hero destroyed, while we watched the NFL and had animated debates about it on sports talk radio…

Hi Arclight, Thanks for posting this info. I am Wind, and I am on my way to Los Alamos now for trial. After reading enenews since March 2011, it felt like my moral duty to stand up against these monsters. Wish us luck, most of us look set to spend a few days in prison…..

Wind, best of luck to you and the other 5 activists.
How ironic that jail time is even being considered for humanitarians trying to raise awareness on the dangers of nuclear energy.
Yet the profiteers/pushers of nuclear power plants remain free and wealthy as their power plants pollute the world and cause cancer.
Why aren't THEY in jail?

Happy Birthday, Mr. Gundersen.
What's unbelievable is that Japanese leaders have Not learned any lessons from the Fukushima meltdowns……and want to move full steam ahead.
Look at these headlines:
=== "Japan officials considering move to become reprocessing center for spent nuclear fuel generated across Asia"

=== The title of this article says it all:
"WHEN LIFE IS CHEAPER THAN NUCLEAR POWER"
An article on nuclear power in India which includes this frightening statement:
"Most of India’s 20 reactors are on the list of the most unreliable 50 in the world…"

>>An important paragraph in the Enformable document:
"The Japanese have a bilateral nuclear energy pact with the United States, which allows Japan to reprocess spent fuel rods through 2018, when the agreement would need to be renewed, and the United States could revise the agreements and prohibit Japan from further reprocessing. Japan already has enough plutonium stockpiled to create hundreds of nuclear bombs…"
