Title: Forgotten Fukushima-Japan Two Years After the Daiichi Accident
Source: Fairewinds Energy Education
Date: Feb. 24, 2013

Nuclear Expert Arnie Gundersen, Fairewinds Energy Education: The Fairewinds site has been getting a lot of anecdotal evidence from people all over northern Japan. We just got an email just last week from a woman, whose two sisters were pregnant, and one child was born deformed and the other died in the womb. And they’re pregnant during the accident and they could tell a metallic taste on their tongues and all that kind of stuff so I just am concerned that the Japanese government isn’t properly accounting for that. […]

Gundersen: Your symposium* is just one more opportunity to let people know in Japan that the experiences they’re feeling — the metallic taste on your tongue, the illnesses, the bloody noses, etc. — are not something that’s in your brain, and in fact these are real physiological issues that your government’s not addressing.

So I’m glad you’re doing it, because the Japanese have to know that this is not a psychological issue, that these are real physiological issues based on real physiological exposures.

I just checked the speaker list at Dr. Caldicott's symposium link – this woman is just amazing!! I wish I could attend, but there's an ocean to cross for me. Wonder if the speeches will be videotaped & published later? As for the deformed children: I guess all of us have been fearing the first pictures to surface – there haven't been any so far, I think. Govmt is doing a "great" job oppressing them. Truth will out. I remember a report of a doctor who took several pregnant women back to Minamisoma in April 2011, as he thought living in a shelter was too difficult for them. I still often think of those mothers and their babies. :-(

IMO – It will become more and more REAL to Japan and the world as the months, years and decades pass by.

Exactly when will it become REAL to enough people so that this annihilation of innocent life can be stopped? I don't know.

Unfortunately, by the time enough people become 'clear' as to realness of what's happening many who could have been spared will be lost or suffer due to the negligence and inaction of a few.

    Time is of the essence!

Will this horror ever be fully acknowledged or will it be swept under the rug, like Chernobyl's tragedy? There are still fools out there who boldly claim that there were no lasting ill effects from Chernobyl! The main difference is that Japan has higher visibility than a largely unheard-of region of the old Soviet Union. It will be harder to hide the effects from the world. The "honorable" leaders of Japanese industry and government can just all go commit hara kiri, lying scum that they are…

While I do not doubt that there will be great amounts of illness and deformities I hope that these are actually verified cases and not just anti-nuclear propaganda.

Say what?! You don't doubt that there will be "great amounts of illness and deformities" but you think the reports emerging now are "anti-nuclear propaganda"!?

If you really "do not doubt" a horror story, why do you want the horror of it covered up? Deformed babies make for "propaganda"? Are you listening to yourself?

I think kintaman's concerned that this story (and related ones) is eventually verified and not simply speculation on the part of anti-nukers. It's a valid point…

If A = Exploded Nuclear Radiation Source, and D = Nuclear Radiation Cell Destruction/Mutation/Death, therefore

        If A = D, and B = D, and A = B = C, then sure as hell C x 7 = D.

Unless some 'higher power' sweeps in to change the laws of mathematics, we are all going to end up like the Chernobyl victims.

Will the US government use Obamacare to implement 'forced abortions' Fukushima-style here, to protect the profits of the nuclear industry? Yes, right after they take away everyone's right to 'self-defense'.

I'm pro-choice, but I don't have any doubt we are directly headed – and soon – for no-choice-baby's-deformed abortion, and no way to stop it. The Japanese are just the first phase, to perfect the population control/forced abortion techniques to be used here in the US.

If you don't understand 'culling', you'd better read up on it. Because if you're a 1st gen downwinder, you're the first to go once you show signs.

No, they will serve you free lunch,
          with nutricious indegrients from Japan.

If you want to build a roof,
          what should your workers do?
"Working together" or "fighting each other"?

Aftershock, thank you for your balanced response. Others please increase your calm. My concern is that there are many on the anti-nuclear front that are very eager to spread misinformation to further their cause which will only make the real issue seem less believable to others.

Just as there are pro-nukers who spread misinformation (nuclear is perfectly safe!) we must accept that there are people on the flip side who do the same. Both of these groups who exaggerate or lie to further their cause only make the reality less believable.

I only request that when such information is given that it be backed up with solid evidence to PROVE the point.

My wish is to see all those responsible for this "accident" and subsequent deceptions (no "immediate" health impact) punished for being the traitors they are. They must all be rounded up with their families and send to live and work near Fukushima Daiichi forever. This is the only real justice.

Birth defects are said to get actually WORSE through the generations. Like grandchildren even worse for them than for the children. No one can safely bear children in Japan anymore. You don't have to have visible defects yourself to bear deformed children. It just takes damaging sperm and/or egg. And as Helen Caldicott has said, plutonium has an infinity for men's testicles. Sorry to be crude about it, but this side of the horror story ESPECIALLY must not be covered up.

Since we were exposed near Chernobyl in 1986-87, is the fact I lost a child due to birth defects (full term, but could not survive), have daughter with cancer, myself have major immune system issues — and grandchildren with significant birth defects..is THAT propaganda?

We/they did not have any anti-nuclear thoughts at the time, but now..since ALL of us have issues, those exposed, their children..what are we to think? Its not propaganda when your babies die in a horrible way. Its certainly not normal. Those who think its propaganda, move to Belarus, move to Fukushima..take the "spa" treatment. See how you feel when you look into the eyes of your children and see despair.

Nothing 'crude' about it, jec. What we will be discussing here in the next few months will dwarf anything we've spoken of yet.

Medical facts are medical facts. Radioactive mutation is a scientific fact. Humans are roughly 17 years apart now. We are all 1st gen downwinders. We will see a lot of death and mutation, but no one is prepared for what people will be seeing in 17 years.

      And after that, forget it.

The reasons why your not seeing lots more birth defects than there actually is…is that …as Prof Chris busby said in a Youtube video "they are using Ultra sound to detect these babies before they are born and aborting them !!!.Whats happening in Japan now will go down in history as one of the biggest cover-ups in nuclear disaster history.

    Dear Japan Guinea Pig,
Yes. As ugly as it might seem, awhile back I raised the topics of partial birth abortions and sale of fetuses by abortion clinics for stem cell and other research. Turns my stomach :( .
I continue to believe that Japanese healthcare professionals will be compelled by their own consciences to reveal truths to the world.
Keep reading, posting & sharing ENENews folks!
    Aloha.
