Arnie Gundersen on Five O’clock Shadow with Robert Knight, WBAI, June 28, 2011 at 5:00 pm EDT:
- Intake structure probably the most vulnerable, not auxiliary and containment buildings…
- Intake structure draws in river water that cools reactor and spent fuel pool… critical that it stay dry…
- If gets water in it and emergency service water pumps fail then you’ve got a case where you’re going to cause fuel damage…
- Probably the most vulnerable at Ft Calhoun…

That’s what we have at Ft Calhoun — a 500 MW reactor 20 miles north of Omaha.

I think this needs to be made clear- what Arnie is saying is that the ELECTRICAL WIRING for the intake pumps need to be kept dry not the pumps themselves. And of course good luck with that as the system was never designed to run underwater.
By the by if 50,000 people will die right off if this fuel melts then how come 200,000 didnt just drop dead in FUKU?

Tony,
You have to realize that most, if not all TV ”news” is censored to a certain degree.
Before Kaku was allowed to be more forthright in interviews, he did the Austrailian 60 minutes show and had much more freedom of expression and truth. After that was shown via you tube, then the MSM had no recourse than to allow it here in the states.
I, personally, do not find him to be the ‘authority’ of this subject, but he is much my willing to go by the guidelines than, say, Arnie, who has not ‘career’ with information.
I would trust Arnie Gunderson miles before I would Kaku for knowledge. Arnie marches to a different drum than Kaku.

SPELT is a word if you speak English as they do on the Isles.
Report Comment
Correct StPaulScout! Here is the official answer.
Is spelt even a word? I thought it was “spelled”?
When someone says, “You spelt that wrong” It doesn’t make sense because they “spelt” spelled wrong. It’s spelled isn’t it? Or is spelt acceptable?
The verb “spell” is one of a number of verbs where older irregular forms exist for the past tense (that is “-t” rather than “ed”).
Generally, these forms are dropping out of English, but the process has gone further in US English than in UK English. So in the USA, “spelt” is rare enough that most people view it as wrong, but in the UK the two forms coexist.
Check out Google Books Ngram Viewer for historical stats on, for example, “it is spelled”/”it is spelt”.

At least Arnie Gunderson tries to tell us, and show us, in laymans terms what is happening.
Kaku, does the usual MSM double-speak.
Arnie, to me, has in a way fought the battle before. He and his company try to make filters, etc. to eliminate as much crapola coming out of these reactors.
Kaku, on the other hand, ‘does interviews’ via MSM and gets to make his money. Don’t know what he did before, but he sure is racking up the bux these days.
Arnie&Co. including his wife, have made videos trying to inform and educate on a level that people can understand.
I commend his efforts and am very glad to have his input. Making videos isn’t a free service. He put up the bux to inform, again, not like Kaku who goes on live and says what the censors allow.

Arnie and Co, incl. Kaku was causious in the begining.
And I belive we all had the same amount of info to work on, and draw conclusions.
Its not the coverup of “fissons” or whateveritscaled, thats is/was the problem, all the numbers/isotops was there.
We all know it.
The real problem, like the Tjernobyl incident, is the aftermath.
Its in this phase that the real problem becomes difuced.
By staments based of documents and “knowledge”, that we know by no is not correct, there is no lower level of radiation, ones inside your body, as a ex.
The massiv scale is also mindboggelig and difficoult to get and/or give exact mapings because of incopetence.
We are stearing strait into a paradigme change and mindsett when it comes to nucklear ind. future survival.
Its going to fight with toth and claws.
The real consern and what wories me is the aparent “normality”(look out the window, see, everything is normal).
That aparent normality is what the NucInd is going to push on the MSM and people, and the confusion created by missleading and direct lies about the scale of the fallout and the rad. reaqding presented.
And whats even more worryesome is the calm right now, I can almoust smell the Perfect storm comming, and its going to be ugly.
They still are downplaying everything about Fukoshima, everything.
The people of Japan are on their own now, they better start to wake up, its becomed a race against time.

e.g. From memory – excuse the gaps.-
AG: “If the pool at no. 4 collapses I will tell my friends to get out of Japan:”
HC: “But Arnie, there won’t be enough aeroplanes. Shouldn’t they get out now.”
AG: “I have to give my information in a way so as not to cause a panic.”
HC: “It’s like you don’t shout fire in a burning theater because if you do many people could get trampled to death.”

Earlier today, someone posted on another board , excellent video from you tube of a person whose channel was “leakspinner”.

It is horrific to watch.. I am warning you of that beforehand. If you can’t stand to see cows dying, then do not watch, I cried.
http://www.youtube.com/user/leakspinner
My intent is not to show more suffering, but the people taking the vid went out of their way to give the survivors hay that was available, and what ‘clean’ water they had taken for themselves.
Since that vid, he did not put up anymore and he also posted nothing after that time on his blog which I found in his profile.
I wrote a ‘smarter’ you tube vid friend about him and he found another channel he has now.
His new channel is:

In the beginning of this horrid ordeal, even tho I did not know about him, it appears he was ahead of the game.He was making vids and posting them practically 24/7.
He is still pursuing the the fight and is posting on his new channel as long as they let him.

VERY LOW FREQUENCY GROUP
Welcome to the STARLab Very Low Frequency (VLF) Research Group home page. We investigate the earth’s electrical environment, its upper atmosphere, lightning discharges, radiation belts and the ionized regions of the earth’s upper atmosphere known as the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Much of our work involves the use of very low frequency (VLF) electromagnetic waves which are generated by lightning discharges, by man-made transmitters and by the energetic radiation belt electrons. We investigate the generation of these waves and the manner in which they propagate in and scattered from various regions of the upper atmosphere. We use VLF waves as diagnostic tools to investigate physical processes in the vicinity of the Earth’s low and high altitude plasma environment. Under the direction of Professor Umran Inan, the VLF group carries out extensive observational programs at multiple sites across the continental United States, in Antarctica, in Canada, and on satellites. In addition, extensive theoretical modeling and interpretation work is carried out, on quantitative modeling of high-altitude optical emissions known as sprites, blue jets, and elves, on modeling the propagation and scattering of electromagnetic waves in the earth-ionosphere waveguide, and on other related electromagnetic wave and plasma physics problems.

Lightning-Induced Electron Precipitation Studies
http://web.archive.org/web/20040401230556/http://www-star.stanford.edu/~vlf/LEP/LEP.html
Lightning-induced electron precipitation (LEP) is studied by the VLF Group mainly by monitoring man-made subionospheric VLF signals. The electron precipitation process has several steps. In the top left panel (which can also be seen as a larger image), ducted whistler waves launched by lightning strikes travel along geomagnetic field lines, and are able to interact with geomagnetically trapped electrons. The interaction can alter the mirroring height of the trapped electrons, allowing them to penetrate the ionosphere where they cause secondary ionization. This excess ionization perturbs the earth-ionosphere waveguide (top right panel), which can then disturb subionospheric VLF signals like the 23.4 kHz signal (call letters of the transmitter are NPM) which is shown in the lower left panel. The rapid onset of amplitude and phase changes caused by the sudden burst of precipitating electrons is followed by a slower recovery as the excess ionization is recombined. The event in the episode of events (bottom left panels) indicated by a red arrow is detailed in the lower right panels, along with the associated ducted whistler (recorded at Palmer Station, Antarctica). The broadband recording of the whistler has the causative radio atomospheric (or sferic) indicated by a red arrow. The sferic is also caused the lightning strike, but unlike the whistler wave it travels through the earth-ionosphere waveguide. A larger image of a whistler wave recorded at Palmer is available.
