Good Morning America, ABC News, Dec. 23, 2013: US Sailors Sue Over Radiation Poisoning [...] Dozens of them are seriously ill. [...]  >> Watch the broadcast here

Arnie Gundersen, Fairewinds Energy Education, Dec. 26, 2013: [...] In the news has been horrific exposures of sailors on the USS Reagan […] hair loss diarrhea [vomiting blood, developing tumors] […] The story in Tampa Bay Times happened 50 years ago, and it happened on a ship that was dumping radioactive waste in the Atlantic Ocean off the NJ shore. Those sailors have exactly the same symptoms as the Reagan sailors. […] the government claims the radiation exposures are way too low to cause the symptoms they are now experiencing. But in fact the ship those sailors served on was so radioactive it had to be sunk in the Atlantic Ocean along with the drums it had dumped […] It’s exactly like the experiences the sailors on the Reagan are now receiving from the United States government […] their symptoms are being denied, their radiation exposures are being minimized  […] This government obfuscation has been going on for 50 years. […] I urge you to read the Tampa Bay Times to learn more about this massive government cover-up.

I really hope that this lawsuit by the sailors of the USS Ronald Reagan gets the attention of the USA…the government encourages worship of the military and Supporting the Troops, and people certainly do support those ordinary soldiers they know serving in America's many wars.
So how does the government get away with hurting the very people they pretend to embrace, hug, take credit for, and identify with?
This mistreatment of the troops should upset every patriot. Indded, it should outrage everyone with any sense of decency.

Update USS Regan. I sent the law firm information as to Dr Whitaker a nutritionist . And information concerning radiation sickness, and things that can be done to help the Sailors.Sent information links and asked them to put this doctor on their health team. I sent them information about the Japanese Doctor who in WW-2 who never lost a patient he did not use conventional methods and wrote the Law firm as to how this doctor never lost one patient from Radiation exposure, and did not use conventional methods and what he treated people with. Other doctors lost every patient. I set a ton of info so hope they look at it.

"On a force protection level, U.S. forces both ashore in Japan as well as at sea and in the air are well-equipped to monitor radiation levels as well as to decontaminate personnel and equipment that might become contaminated by radiological materials.." – Japan 2011 Earthquake: U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Response. Sure it's ironic when the plumbing is a weak point of a nuclear super carrier. (Reportedly some considered the carrier's desalination of its own fresh water an effective barrier to radiation and sophisticated radiation detectors were not turned on in time.) But overconfidence, denial of reality, wishful thinking and mismanagement were not limited to relief efforts but also part of the causes of NPP disaster.

The CRS is a corrupt organization bought and sold. This is congress' primary source of information letting them know what's going on in the outside world. All congress knows is what comes out of the CRS. So, who ever controls the CRS controls congress.

    Arnie Gundersen…you got guts. +311

Karen Silkwood died under strange circumstances for far less spreading of nuclear critiques.

Stay away from short-haired men in black suits carrying pointy umbrellas.

The USS Reagan troops got it far worse because of their own ship's design…the salt water intake for cooling the reactor needed to be converted into fresh water to prevent ruining the reactor parts with salt corrosion. But that same water source was the main drinking source for the enlisted personnel.

When they were offshore Fukushima Daiichi lagoon in those meltdown days they took in toxic water from the ocean without preventative testing. If they had tested the water they should have fled like scared little dogs much faster than they did after it was too late.

Inquiring Enenews minds want to know for the Congressional USS Ronald Reagan hearings that will inevitably occur in the distant future: Did any of the officers on board drink the main water supply?

Or did they alone have enough bottled water to tide them over for their 90 day terrified escape trip from Japan during which they were denied entry at numerous ports because of their radiation contamination?

    The World also Wonders…

"They are using the same old playbook", as Kevin Blanch would say.

    1) Poor record keeping
I remember my mother saying that we know so much about what the Nazi's did because they kept such good records. Our government, military and national laboratories seem to have mastered the art of incomplete record keeping, losing records and if records exist denying the quality of the information. If I recall correctly some portion of the health record of the crew on the Regan were deleted as well. Maybe someone here has a link to that story. In this computer age we should be overwhelmed with record keeping. We know the NSA has figured out how to not delete any information it collects.

    2) Wait out the claim
Drag out any case until the person dies or they give up.

    3) Keep those in danger uninformed.
The secrecy necessary in government is abused by it to keep those that work for it and the public ignorant. Not telling people when they are in harms way be it radiation, agent orange or pulling the plug on the EPA radiation monitoring.
In the article it quotes the Brookhaven lab booklet "ABC's of Radiation" regarding radiation it says, "Danger lurks only for the uninformed or careless."

It is obvious that the Army did not take care of them properly.
Getting "irradiated" sure requires special care.

yes, nothing new to add here….The situation has been obvious for some time. When the USS Ronald Reagan had to put in to port for decontamination…it's not hard to conclude that the people on board also were contaminated.

Going back to the Tampa Bay Times story, and moving forward 50 years, it becomes clear that both the military and civilians everywhere are being exposed.through carelessness That is followed by denial.

Human beings are, in general, too stupid to safely handle radioactive substances. Nature is also too unpredictable to assume no earthquakes or tsunamis will happen.

No matter how many times it happens, they repeat the same mistakes.

Arnie Gundersen needs to stop upsetting Questionit with all this talk about how government inflicts pain and suffering on its own people then covers it up by hiding and ignoring the facts.

Yeah, I'm beginning to wonder about how much AG really knows, too. Remember he told us all in 2011 how the R4 SFP was the most serious problem mankind had ever faced and how a Richter 7 would bring the pool crashing down and our species with it. Well, there has been at least one 7.3 and the species seems to still be here. R4, too.

To conflate the Gipper story with the 1960 USS Calhoun County story is bizarre conspiracy-mongering. The two have nothing to do with each other. He refers to "horrific exposures" on the Gipper, making it sound like Nagasaki. He has no idea who was exposed to what, how long, or how much. That's what the lawsuit is trying to find out.

Maybe there is a tragedy and cover up here, but if so, how could AG know? He needs to tell us whether he has a current or potential financial interest in this Gipper suit.

So 50 years ago the solution was to dump it all into the ocean.

JAPAN RADIATION POISONING AMERICA? New concerns hitting U.S. Pacific coast
    Dec 30, 2013 WorldNetDaily

“The world is closely watching whether we can dismantle the Fukushima plant, including the issue of contaminated water,” said Prime Minister Abe. “Japanese government is determined to work hard to resolve the issue.”

This is quite a change from previous statements Prime Minister Abe has made. In a speech Sept. 7 in front of the International Olympic Committee in Buenos Aires, Prime Minister Abe stated categorically, “Let me assure you the situation (the contaminated groundwater problem) is under control.”

6 days later, Tokyo Electric disputed Prime Minister Abe’s claim at a meeting in Fukushima.
“We regard the current situation as not being under control,” said Tokyo Electric.
Tokyo was awarded the 2020 Olympic Games following Prime Minister Abe’s speech.

If only one leader tries to do all that is needed, say all that is needed to be said, no one will listen. Any leader needs the support of others speaking out and sharing the load, tag team, working as a community. Not realistic to expect one person to carry all that alone.

The threat of legal prosecution upon those who talk about what has happened to them is quite effective. These people who are working together to bring light to the abusive practices of the Navy and the military as a whole are some of the bravest of the brave.

Hi everyone from Enenews, I am very grateful to be able to bring you this information. I have THE SOLUTION for you. I have found a new way to PURGE HEAVY METALS LIKE URANIUM from the body and PROTECT our kids – I myself have a 4 year old and this gave me such hope and joy to discover. Check this out… There is a product called "ZEOLITE". It is an ingestible heavy metal detox and pH balancer. It has NO SIDE EFFECTS and it works. This powder will clean the toxic metals from your body. Please, for yourself, get it if you want to survive this.

    get ZEOLITE PURE or ZEOLITE-AV

it also destroys VIRUS's ability to infect you (video)

    http://youtu.be/nfc46NpJ4Y8

Created when volcanic lava meets seawater, "Zeolite" has a hollow soccer-ball shape with a negative charge. It attracts the positively charged toxic heavy metals, trapping them inside. The body cant process it so it is expelled and therefore transports the metals out.
It is the answer to purging your body from Uranium and all other toxic metals. I have to share this so I could save all of our lives. I decided to distribute this now, and so if you click my link above ( http://regalsupplements.com?AFFID=146483 ) that's all I request back for bringing you this amazing product. I'm confident it will save you from this mess we are in…
