the chant hasn't stopped for, i don't know what. i've been monitoring for 10 hours now, speakers on and off. the chant has never stopped.
i appreciate it may be boring for me to be logging all this, but it's a big moment, i think – almost like watching the lunar landing.
i've raved earlier in the thread about the technology involved, 100,000 hits or more have watched these cameras today.

Richard, I'm just as excited as you are! I bet some of the policemen feel like dancing, too
Let's hope all keep in mind that neither protesters nor policemen are the enemy.

getting a little messy now. the lines are breaking. arms are in the air.. police are moving into some sections of the crowd.
chant's still going.
cliche megaphone starting to blare a little. still cooperative.
as b&b says, neither side are the enemy here.
over 97,300 on one stream alone.

wow, over 100,000 hits on one stream and i saw over 7,000 concurrent viewers at one stage.
combine the other cameras, that would seem to be over 10,000 concurrent viewers. astounding. historical.
the crowd is in control again. that ripple in the ranks before seems to be over. all smoooth – which is so amazing in itself.

Never again will they schedule a restart for a weekend! Far too many people with time on their hands to throw an open air "Saikado Hantai-party" on a Saturday night
Next one will likely be Wednesday at 5AM in November.

lol! alot could happen between now and then though huh?
its made it a great weekend for me.. but nothing else got done..
might well have a glass of the old vino tonight too!

i've hardly done anything else all day. managed to get somethings like exercise etc done
i have to go to bed soon though, it would be hard to explain that i'm late from watching an historical event that no one would understand and have even watched. I would be from the twilight zone. maybe i am.

Tokyo (CNN) — Throngs of demonstrators converged outside the Ohi nuclear power plant on Sunday, decrying the scheduled relaunch of Japan's nuclear power production after last year's Fukushima Daiichi disaster.
A rigid line of shield-wielding police contained the chanting, dancing and drumming protesters outside Ohi, where the plant's No. 3 reactor was set to restart late Sunday.
"Opposition to restart!!" protesters chanted.
Kansai Electric Power Co. Ltd. (KEPCO) said the operation to restart the Ohi's No. 3 reactor will begin at 9 p.m. (8 a.m. ET) Sunday.
(r: !that time is less then 30 minutes from this time of writing!)
