Title: Podcast with Arnie Gundersen, Fukushima update and much more

Host: Many of us have seen the infamous photo of the site on fire as the tsunami approached. So that would tend to indicate that there was a failure at the plant before the tsunami even hit. And still many people aren’t even aware of that, which is kind of surprising [...]

I remember Arnie Gunderson saying something to the effect that the power plant was in meltdown before the tsunami because the earthquake broke all the pipes which cool the reactors. It's really hard to tell what's going on in that video where the water explodes seemingly out of nowhere. I've watched the whole video on youtube repeatedly. It looks to be in the foreground of the plant. At first I thought it was a giant wave crashing against a cliff. Unfortunately it is still just speculation as to what it is.

I'm the one that brought in the HD..Nuckelchen found what we suspected was there.(…just goes to show I can't live without Nuckelchen)
      I have no doubt…what I'm seeing.

I'm not saying it is or isn't. I'm saying I don't know what I'm seeing there.

I do believe that those reactors were in meltown before the tsunami hit them.

I am also grateful for the folks on youtube who post fukushima related media. I check youtube daily.

If the plants did 'survive' the initial quake it would have been a miracle, as they were in no way capable of handling one that strong. So I'm at a loss as to why anyone would be surprised at this. However its still amazing that as this situation deteriorates, we are being lulled back to sleep by the media…

That appears to be a nuclear explosion blowing vapourised fuel into the air.
We will never heard the whole truth about Fukushima, but only seen the tragedy of death which follows for a thousand years or more.

enenews posted a story about radiation levels rising from the plant before the tidal wave hit. (reactor #1) that was many months ago, but of course a fuzzy video released a year later is far more important. i think the video clearly shows elvis presly surfing the tsunami while eating a hamburger.

If you remember the firsthand account when employees were told to evacuate the plant site as a tsunami was eminent, one employee said that after he reached a higher portion of a nearby hill he could see the sea floor (dry) for hundreds of meters as the ocean receded before the tsunami arrived (which is typical).

So, no cooling water available at that time to the plant's intake plumbing. No wonder the plant was heating up.

workers also reported machinery damage (pipes bursting, cracks etc) caused by the third largest earthquake in history to a old, seaside, poorly designed plant. and, not one drop of emergency cooling water for the heat-exchanger while one waits for the ocean to return?

I have no doubt that the earthquake compromised the nuclear facility the question is was the damage to the hot side or non radioactive side of reactor? Increase in radiation before tsunami at gate?,
Was water cooling lost to heat exchangers due to broken supply piping and reactors melted or did the core of reactor melt due to vibrations and movement on the fuel assemblies.
To prove this would be the key to closing all nuclear reactors and what all enenewers should focus on, we should be studying the videos and sound recordings of melt downs and reverse engineer, as they do with black boxes etc.
Prove that nuclear facilities do not stand up to their design parameters and are unsafe to operate.
