Hurricane Irene Continues Its Assault on the Bahamas, Accuweather, August 24, 2011:
Hurricane Irene continues to grow in size and intensity and will bring dangerous conditions over 100 miles away from the storm’s center.

For years I lived right on the beach in Carolina Beach, NC.
The first nuke plant Irene will encounter is the Brunswick Nuclear Power Station located in Southport, NC.
During the time I spent in the area there were numerous storms that blew ashore, though nothing above a CAT2.
It will be interesting to see how the major cities along the east coast fare.
