    OK alright, I havent been commenting on anything in awhile, but this one really, really hits my nerves. First off, what the HELL is this guy smoking?? Why claim such nonsense? It’s beyond obvious that Fukushima is the most FUCKED up thing to ever happen on this planet. No effect on fish? OK BUDDY. Yeah what about the explosions? You’re telling me there was no plume of radioactive materials? So why is there an exclusion zone?? Oh and what about the radiation suits the workers wear? They just want to look cool I forgot. I’ve always hated people from India. This guy needs a reality check.

Kinda ironic that some of the most pro-nuke nations just happen to be those with the biggest over-population problems?!~when the slums & shanty towns are gone thanks to being the most at risk public sectors who are conveniently those who forage through shitpiles & live in cardboard boxes and have to collect brackish water to bathe in,drink & cook with while making their livelihood panhandling & hustling~then maybe after the annoyingly destitute have become fertilizer the same shills “might” start changing their tune! Of course that also applies to the “one of every fifteen Americans who are now living(?)below poverty-level”…Indian people don’t bother me personally-except maybe the ones who [MODERATOR: Wow. I’m looking at a AN/PDR-27S with high and low range GM wand, illuminated analogue meter, and full operation and service manual. You mentioned before how you preferred the units that you used in the Navy. I hope you don’t mind me asking.

    We have long believed that the solution is dilution. Worked with carbon monoxide, just vent it outside, back yard burn barrels burned everything, just don’t keep standing in the smoke, and our power plants, our cars, our home furnaces, and industrial wastes just keep getting cleaned up in the worlds weather systems. Sadly, this has been the approach to this crisis also. It doesn’t work so well when the radiation keeps being released, and when the half lives are in the hundreds/thousands/and millions of years. It moves around, it accumulates and is the gift that keeps on giving. Let’s hope there is being progress made in containment. Clean up isn’t realistic yet. We are not in the final stages, the limits of this disaster is still unfolding and the magnitude still unknown. Isolation, evacuation, sealing and limiting of damages are priorities. If only the radiation was as easy to cover up as the news coverage is to black out.

    “Early this year, India began renewing efforts to sell nuclear reactors to Kazakhstan; Department of Atomic Energy Chairman Srikumar Banerjee is already here to hold talks on a feasibility study for 220 MWe reactors considered ideal for an electricity grid in a vast country with a scattered population. This would be India’s first export of nuclear reactors, provided it manages to convince the Kazakhs to end their total dependency on Russian technology.

    India and Kazakhstan have signed an agreement on cooperation in agriculture. This means exploring the possibility of Indian farmers taking over Kazakh farmland on lease. However, a controversy over leasing of land to the Chinese just before Mr. Nazarbayev’s election had led Astana to halt this move.

    Kazakhstan has traditionally supported India, whether it was at the Nuclear Suppliers’ Group, or standing by India after the Mumbai terror attacks. India was the first non-Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) destination for Mr. Nazarbayev in the early nineties. After a lukewarm spell of bilateral ties that lasted a decade, India invited Mr. Nazarbayev to be the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations in 2009.”

    “NEW DELHI: A new mine in south India could contain the largest reserves of uranium in the world, a government official said in remarks reported Tuesday, signalling a major boost for the energy-hungry nation.

    The Tumalapalli mine in Andhra Pradesh state could provide up to 150,000 tonnes of uranium, Srikumar Banerjee, secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy, told reporters after a four-year survey of the site was completed.

    “It’s confirmed that the mine has 49,000 tonnes of ore, and there are indications that the total quantity could be three times that amount,” Banerjee was quoted as saying in The Times of India.

    “If that be the case, it will become the largest uranium mine in the world,” he said.

    Previous estimates suggested that only about 15,000 tonnes of uranium would be produced at the mine, which is due to start operating by the end of the year.

    No details were released on the quality of the material in Tumalapalli, a key factor as other uranium mined in India has been inferior to imports being procured from France, Kazakhstan, Russia and elsewhere.

    “The new findings would only augment the indigenous supply of uranium. There would still be a significant gap. We would still have to import,” Banerjee was quoted as saying in an Indian newspaper.

    India gets less than three per cent of its energy from atomic power and it hopes to raise the figure to 25 per cent by 2050.

    The government has been seeking new supplies of uranium, which is refined into nuclear fuel, but it has been consistently rebuffed by major exporter Australia as India has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.”

    The number one rule in the defence book of big corporations is to deny everything. Always. Even when truth is a public knowledge.

    Unfortunately the reporter is not asking the right questions … He could have embarrassed the nuke official many times, should he want it. In fact the questions are very “safe” and “tamed” in substance which may point to the whole interview being a clever PR stunt. And questions alone are not enough – waste of time really. They should have come with hard facts and numbers and gear the questions around those. But in that case I doubt the nuke official would have accepted the interview.

    He’s right in one way…It was not an accident it was a CATASTROPHE! I don’t care what you call the events at Fukushima, however saying that chain reactions are over is downright stupid. Reactors 5&6 just went critical, reactor 2 releases fission products within the last 2 weeks. The Xenon is there for everyone to see. To say that the shit stopped hitting the fan after 3/11 is the stupidest conclusion I have ever heard. The pro-nuclear folks need to stop hitting the meth pipe because their estimations of what is about to happen is a blatant denial of FACTS. Facts seem to scare people so lets just ignore them and say it never happened. I guess no one wants to take responsibility for the impending future health nightmare.

    Good pro nuclear progoganda piece.

    I am surprised that he did not launch into the pro DU weapons speech, and add a few quotes by Ann Coultier, who claims that the more radiation, the healthier people get.

    Wow, this wonderful industry is spreading radiation from Fukushima and Depleted uranium dust from DU weapons all over the world, all at no cost to us. Are you feeling healthier yet?

    We need to step up the accidents and use of DU weapons, and resume the open air atomic bomb testing. No need to cover up the nuclear waste.. Just put it in concrete and build all of our new buildings with it, so that we will have lots and lots of this healthy radiation, 24 hours a day..

    Why not make special radiation rooms, filled with spent nuclear fuel rods. Make them into tanning beds that people can spend time in to get nice and glowing ‘hot’, with a free tan to boot.

    What a wonderfully generous and kind world we live in.. free radiation for everyone!

    “The body further stated that all ports and airports have been alerted about food articles coming in from Japan. As soon as food arrives, samples will be picked up and sent to these three labs.

    Testing will take around five days as per the guidelines of the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act.

    FSSAI added that food technologists in Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi would also check for contaminated food.

    However India is not yet started checking of any non food items from Japan as the chances of radioactive contamination through them is remote.”

    Meanwhile, imports soared 12.1 percent to 5.68 trillion yen, rising for 21 straight months mainly due to higher energy prices.

    But the figure was 61.2 percent lower than the level seen last year, reflecting the severe damage done by the March earthquake and tsunami, particularly to the supply chain.”

    What to do with all that radiation when it just won’t go away? The next thing you know this guy will be spinning nuclear accidents as a GOOD thing!. Wait a minute they already came up with “hormesis”.

    Seriously, anyone who is supposed to be responsible for nuclear safety and yet who is THIS blasely unconcerned about it has just proven that he is the absolute wrong person for the job. And since it seems the people in charge are such pathological liars why we cannot trust in the supposed safety of things nuclear.

    There is no way official “science” can be trusted anymore. Everybody, get yourselves radiation meters and control everything, especially food, regularly. When established science becomes criminal, we have to take things in our own hands and rely on mutual help and communication. Let the “Arab Spring” become a “Worldwide Spring” wiping away all those criminal officials and governments.
