"Scientists believe a Texas Brine salt cavern in the Napoleonville Dome failed far underground, causing the sinkhole to form and releasing crude oil and gas from the formations in contact with the big salt dome.
The seismic work will involve use of vibration trucks, air guns and M-80-style explosives to send energy waves into the ground to reflect off subsurface formations before being collected by a series of geophones."

notice how their language always "blames nature" in some way. When you take the words out of context, you would think that it was all nature's fault. This is standard corporate press release writing 101 when it comes to any environmental disasters. Disgusting!

Well it had to be 'formations' because the math did not work out otherwise. The cavern had to have been a pretty explosive 'frack out' that was deep enough to capture Big Hum, Marg Vag, Cris, just where they all pinched uo against the edge of the dome.
Mr. Hill stated, "It may be the beginning of a new oilfield." (paraphrased)
Made me sick.

Sinkhole is now a lake that is connected to and will become part of the bayou system permantly soon. Everything from Bayou Corne down to and into the Gulf is being polluted thanks to Texas Brine and associates. There are toxins, hydrocarbons and radioactive waste materials escaping through under the topwater crude catching booms and flowing into the bayou systems that go directly into the Gulf. If this isn't a national emergency, I don't know what is.

I agree, tm. Seems none of those at the meeting cared to bring that up either. Just mind-boggling, or mind-numbing, I don't know which.

Concerning the irregularities of the salt stock.
Note these type of irregularities around Lake Peigneur

Seems to me the sinkhole is involved in this type area.

I wonder if anybody has noticed just how close the water & other assorted soggy bits are to Hwy 70 ??
On the video at 0:23 it appears to be only 60 – 65 meters away.
Report Comment
…Actually, it's probably closer to 30 meters, NOT 60.
