Akio Matsumura, speaking at “The Medical and Ecological Consequences of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident”, March 13, 2013 (h/t @chrisjcote):

[...] I have worked at the United Nations and other international organizations in London and New York for 40 years [...]

There are four major areas of concern that could cause a bigger disaster:

  1. In reactors 1, 2 and 3, complete core meltdowns have occurred. Japanese authorities have admitted the possibility that the fuel may have melted through the bottom of the reactor core vessels. It is speculated that this might lead to unintended criticality (resumption of the chain reaction) or a powerful steam explosion – either event could lead to major new releases of radioactivity into the environment. [...]

Audio excerpt of Matsumura’s speech, provided by Radio Ecoshock with host Alex Smith:

At 2:30 in

The invisible matter is we do not know what’s happening now underground of the nuclear reactors.  When I talk to members of parliament of Europe, my friends, they were under the impression that already Fukushima’s solved. And when I talk to your leaders as well, they’re surprised to hear what I’m saying. […]

You cannot see the inside issue [at the reactors], so nobody knows. That’s why people try to pay attention to policy issue. They forgot a potential accident remains now. You’re talking a policy matter 30-40 years, you have time. But Fukushima doesn’t have time. That’s what I told to all party leaders and I said to one of the cabinets, “My answer is to improve this issue is maybe we might depend on the military.”

The fuel went down deep almost immediately..
    Recriticality will be undeniable..
Noble gasses say it is happening…
We dont really need to see it…

  • This has to be the most astounding statement in the history of mankind:

"When I talk to members of parliament of Europe, my friends, they were under the impression that already Fukushima’s solved."

Someone please tell me these parliamentarians are not that stupid. Please.

If they're not stupid, they're completely irresponsible and should be bloody well removed from office.

I didn't see your previous comment before I said essentially the same thing below. The Europeans(and Americans?)didn't KNOW there were complete meltdowns, or they did not KNOW what that means, or that "cold shutdown" is IMPOSSIBLE under such circumstances? Yet I think that the Germans must have known because they had the sense to shut their own nuclear plants down. And why didn't the Japanese diplomat question further or educate further?

        High cost of radiation panic
Japan's shutdown of nuclear energy after 2011 quake makes no environmental or economic sense
By: Robert Peter Gale and Eric Lax

"And what of the lasting threat from radiation? Remarkably, outside the immediate area of Fukushima, this is hardly a problem at all. Although the crippled nuclear reactors themselves still pose a danger, no one, including personnel who worked in the buildings, died from radiation exposure."

They all know. The international bankers are in debt up to their eyeballs in the financing of new and existing nuclear projects.

The governments don't loan the money to build these things. They're like skyscrapers. Someone has to borrow the money, the govt. guarantees the loan, no insurance on the construction or operational liability is required, and the loans most likely never get paid off.

Trillions of dollars in loans for these sites, and only a small handful of the largest financial banks/consortiums can afford to play (re: have access to free Central Bank money).

If the truth was known, it would bring about a complete collapse of the most powerful people on earth. Can't let that happen, can we?

There's a Pulitzer Prize waiting for someone to research the full magnitude of the global financing of nuclear power projects.

"An example I often use to illustrate the reality of vanity, is this: look at the peacock; it’s beautiful if you look at it from the front. But if you look at it from behind, you discover the truth…. Whoever gives in to such self-absorbed vanity has huge misery hiding inside them.”

The nuclear industry is the back of a peacock.

On a humorous note (and I guess we all need some of that), Brother Francis might well have been talking about his recent predecessor, Brother Benedict, who is apparently as vain as pontiffs have ever been. Described as "a clotheshorse" who prefers ermine-lined cloaks and bright red shoes, ostentatious head gear and golden crosses. Well, if the message of the world is now shifting, that's probably a good thing. The Japanese are addicted to "saving face," but no one can save the face, rear end, or any other part of mass murder.

Nuclear power has VERY large peacock feathers; claiming the high ground of cheap, green and safe…

        Now, where is that predator?

It's not the reactor, vessels, pipes, wires, generators, steam, turbines, buildings or people that produce the energy for the production of electricity, it is the stuff that was in the fuel rods. That stuff heats up and must have the heat removed quickly. Can heat be removed quickly in an area underground that is insulated from having running water pass by it? I often wonder if the buildings they parade in front of the cameras are all photoshoped. In reality, there may be just a big smoldering crater there where the reactor buildings were. Would make sense, considering all the news and reports we get from Japan.

"THEY" almost certainly know much more about what's going on underground now than they're letting on, but this "personal observation/allegation" is based on their past history having taught us that when they say, "This" serious activity/event "may" be occurring or "that" presence of a "telling" isotope is "mysteriously, increasingly being detected" and "might" indicate a serious, more "specific" status/condition IS occurring and/or expected to have reached & continually remain in dire straits??!!
They must've had already written-off the Pacific Ocean and the US west coast as close to hopelessly FUKuD as can be ascertained while just the MASSIVE, MASSIVE amounts of highly-contaminated,tainted water builds until it starts pouring out somewhere else and whatever all the paths to groudwater & the sea via "leaky cracks" and "manned discharge valves, flood gates, etc." INTENTIONALLY and IMO "flushing" as much of that which keeps radiation levels high ANYWHERE they can for PR purposes/claims of storing it all onsite rather than admitting they've never had any other option EXCEPT to dump it into the sea in mind from the get-go! Considering how it will affect other nations where the oceanfronts are projected to become extremely contaminated while Japans seafront levels will have declined I can see their concern for public reaction because I ALREADY want to beat the crap outta someone behind this outrageously STUPID & once avoidable majorly FUKuD-UP scene…

    Report comment

    • We Not They Finally

UNLESS…. they actually have the option of NOT dumping it at sea, instead keeping it in Japan to contaminate THEIR land forever, but sparing the rest of the world. Then having the decency to get THEIR OWN population out of there. I feel tragically sorry for the Japanese people, but they really need to be EVACUATED, then keep as many nuclear materials as possible THERE, not inflicted on the rest of the world. If they keep trapping those people there ongoing, then they have already murdered their own. But why murder the rest of us? Sorry to be so blunt. This Japanese diplomat may mean well, but ALL the Japanese diplomats need to start thinking about the rest of the world too.

Edgar Cayce Predicts Japan Will Sink Into The Ocean!!!!!
“Edgar Cayce predicted that Japan has to sink below the sea as part of the earth changes. Last years earthquake proved this will happen. Liquification is the process by which saturated, unconsolidated sediments are transformed into a substance that acts like a liquid. Earthquakes can cause soil liquefaction where loosely packed, water-logged sediments come loose from the intense shaking of the earthquake.
“There were major signs of liquification throughout Japan which proves the soil is already saturated with water. This saturated soil can act as quicksand, and sink Japan below the waves. Just a few more large scale quakes will cause this country (island) to sink below the waves forever. This is not a new event to occur. Many land masses have sank below the sea in the past. There are pyramids below the ocean off the coast of Japan, and underwater streets can be viewed by the Carribean Islands.”

          • There have been MANY prophets staking their reputations on California sinking into the ocean as well..

Many prophets staked their claim in the 80s's the a huge meteor would hit Earth and cause global changes.

Many prophets said the end was coming within a year or two back in the 90s' and that many large sections of the globe would sink immediately, after HUGE global earthquakes.

Some even went so far as to publish and sell maps that showed specifically how much land would be left, which was not much.

            NONE OF THIS CAME TRUE.

Prophets throughout the ages since JC came and left, have said "the end is near", for about 2,000 years now, to be exact. Every ten years and especially every 100 years, many staked their reputation that JC was coming back NOW.

They changed "the end" dates often, until the end came for them, and they left this plane.

Many authors are getting rich selling books about the 'end' times, which is supposedly now.

Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. It is a mystery until it actually happens. As the Holy Book says, NO MAN shall know the date and time of this.

One thing we can all count on. We will all check out, and we will all pay taxes… well everyone except for the corporations… they live forever and pay no taxes, plus they get corporate welfare from all of us…

            How sweet is that?

Made you forget all about Armageddon, huh?

Maybe we should all become huge corporations, pay no taxes, live forever and get…

This Japanese diplomat wants to "rely on the military" to do WHAT? Go underground to get themselves nuked so someone can say, oh, now we really know how impossible this is? Like before we were just in denial, but now that we've killed more of our own people off by direct lethal contact, we can now finally say that we haven't a clue what to do?? People that clueless and that heavily in denial should have been asking for international help long since, at the least. At first, I felt sorry for them for their massive official denial. Now it's just infuriating. If they can't f___ing fix it (and they can't), then get those people evacuated! Do SOMETHING right. Sounds like a boring movie. What's a typical movie – 100 minutes or so? You can't properly convey the idea of a psychopathic industry/government as an evil villain in any interesting or meaningful way to most audiences. The movie's hero may avoid some unjust punishment in 100 minutes, but they're not going to triumph over evil – they just avoid further victimization. The corporate/political villains *always* get away.

People don't like to be reminded that their governments have aggressively subordinated their rights to those of fake citizens: corporations. They're aware of it at some level, but prefer not to be reminded. Mainstream media even avoids much mention of it in their 30-minute news programs. People will stop watching their depressing news shows.

Happy Newz attracts viewers and commercial space. Dismal news? That's for doom-and-gloomers and stays on the internet (until the government decides otherwise).

The coriums are detectable because of their higher density and temperature compared to soil, concrete and rocks. They emit different infrared spectra, and interact differently with sound waves. This is a high school physics, nothing special here. If modern science is able to detect ores, caves underground and even ancient structures deep under the surface of the Earth, who in his right mind will believe no body knows where the coriums are.
To the things Pu 239 said about vanity and stupidity can be added one more reason – total disrespect for each and every one who reads and listens to all these lies. TEPCO lied for 2 years, and still they are the ones who controll the information about their uncontrollable radiation. The most frightening thing is all the governments and institutions join this "information" policy.

Throw in a few prophets who talk about Niburu and alien abductions, plus a few prophets spouting stuff about Japan sinking in the ocean next week, and that about wraps it all up with a bow…

            Or…

            Put pressure on key people to find out what REALLY happened by sending in teams, that can answer questions like;

how much fuel is left in everything?

Are the reactors and spent fuel pools still whole or have holes in them?

Where is the corium in everything?

Knowing how much fuel is left inside FUKU will tell everyone whether this was FUBAR or just 10% of Chernobyl.

I do not think that the EU or US/North America is ignorant of the facts. In fact we have had this discussion before, there is a mountain of proof that the information / effects / concentrations is know by the US government. If we know, anyone listening to our governmental chatter knows. If you think European or British intelligence agencies are not listening to US chatter than you should do research on the topic of international spying. It is so much easier now with so much information on the web.

Once the People of the civilized countries realize that the politicians are deliberately and actively covering this nuclear release up, it will be clear why the US Dept. of Homeland Security has purchased so much ammunition recently.

Conspiracy theorists have very little credibility in today's world. If the MSM is not reporting that Fukushima is an ongoing crisis that is compromising human health around the Planet, and damaging the human genome, most people will simply ignore the subject of Fukushima when it comes up. (Isn't this the experience of all of us 'newsers?)

TEPCO is apparently building a cofferdam to keep heavily contaminated ground water from entering the Ocean. TEPCO is apparently drilling wells to reduce the flow of ground water past the underground corium.
We might all get to see where the corium is. Stay tuned.

The Army should have taken this crisis over from TEP.gov, right from the start.
(The Army couldn't have done a worse job then TEP.gov has done.)

For every drop of water they have in those storage tanks, a gallon of heavily contaminated water has flowed directly into the Pacific Ocean.
    And so it goes…

For most of the post-war period the JSDF was confined to the islands of Japan and not permitted to be deployed abroad. In recent years they have been engaged in international peacekeeping operations.

Recent tensions, particularly with North Korea, have reignited the debate over the status of the JSDF and its relation to Japanese society.
