Fukushima Diary translates (a summary?):
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology finally decided to make budget for schools to buy Nal scintillation spectrometer but still hasn’t opened bid. [...]
However, MEXT is asserting school lunch is safe because they check when they distribute food to the market. None of the contaminated food is in the market.
In fact this is not true. Last August they found cesium beef consumed at school. By 12/1/2011, 433 schools and 26 kindergarten in 18 prefectures and 46 cities have served cesium beef for school lunch. In total, 180,000 students have been forced to eat it.
In Miyagi prefecture, they measured 1293 Bq/Kg of cesium from beef served for school.

On this same topic of food safety for children, I hope everyone also reads EX-SKF and his post about standards for radiation for foods for infants.
Combine this with everything that’s appeared here and elsewhere on radiation and food safety in Japan and everywhere and on this specific topic alone you see the disregard for the “masses” and encompassing hazard of nuclear power.
Whether by simple bureaucratic momentum or conscious malfeasance or contrived malevolence, the consequences of nuclear power, in standard operation, failure mode or longterm biohazard management are too great to permit its’ continuance.

What are the odds that they will handle this predicament by raising the acceptable limit for radiation in food once more?
Meanwhile they will probably start serving the locally grown oyster-zillas instead, since they are not tested and thus are not contaminated.

this should be re-aired to remind ous what was being covered up

What a great video – so well done. Admirable women. (It was done months ago – situation now has to be even worse…).
Below – my own symptoms, just as data/case study. I’m 68, female, live in Hawaii, generally have healthy diet/life-style, lots of fruits/veggies, some of them organic, no meat, hardly any cheese or eggs – except have been drinking red wine more than is healthy & that could tie in with the bone issue, because alcohol creates acid condition in blood & body needs alkaline bloodstream & so ‘steals’ calcium from the bones to neutralize the acid blood condition.
SO — symptom of throat irritation was first symptom mentioned. I have had cough, due to ‘tickle in my throat’ for months! – since shortly after the quake/plant destruction! Though the cough is triggered by a ‘tickle in my throat’, it is a deep-sounding cough. It can be triggered by eating (stuff in my throat when I swallow & after swallowing).
Another new problem – back pain. Partly perhaps related to cracked rib injury from over a year ago. It never seemed too serious, caused little pain for a short while – but it got re-injured a couple times, I think has led to subluxation where rib(s)connect with spine. Have had bad back pain for months.
This possibly ties in to strontium. Isn’t strontium a near relation of calcium, & so doesn’t it get deposited in bones? Well, I think my bones might have been low in calcium (due to above – wine drinking), leaving plenty of room for strontium deposition.
Re that old rib injury – she mentioned OLD HEALTH CONDITIONS FLARING UP!
Another old health problem that has begun to recur is chronic feelings of fatigue/exhaustion. This in part might be due to the emotional stress I’ve felt since Fukushima. Emotional stress is very hard on the body. (Years ago I had bad chronic fatigue which I healed by going on the holistic Gerson Therapy.)
Anyway I am not whining here; the above might be of interest as data – a case study.

BTW two elderly people I know have gone downhill since Fukushima. One just recently passed away; the other is seriously ailing. The one who died lived in Alaska, was 69 or 70; the other who is ailing lives in Seattle area, is 87, almost 88.
They both had/have health problems, and we will never know if the radionuclide exposure hastened their demises, but both of the areas mentioned have been hard hit by radio-nuclides. These are the ‘deniable’ deaths that are on the increase in the most vulnerable segments of the population – the elderly, the very young.
