They don't know where the melted fuel is because an accident at a single plant is beyond every nuclear (so-called) expert in the world. Think about that one, everybody, please.

Yes, the NRC had a law so to speak that said melt-throughs were impossible. And they didn't even consider a melt-out. So when Nukashambles delivered triplets of corium that melted-down, melted-through, and melted-out of the buildings… Their little pre-conceived world was shattered. No longer were they proud and brilliant nuclear engineers, just sad little naked apes trying to play god with things they can't control or understand.
They flew all of us without our permission on wax wings to the nuclear sun and wonder with little regret why it burns so badly. So sad for the people of Japan who suffer unspeakable horror and tragedy and the rest of us are just a few months behind with our own tragedies.

Someone had to tell them this! You did it brilliantly! And in front of Ainstein, Saharov, and Openhaimer they are just naked apes, as you said. These great minds did tell them not to play gods!

yeah, after all of them played God for awhile themselves…then they told others not to…

At least more credible professionals are speaking up about these issues now. A year ago we only had the opinions of a few brave souls like Arnie, Chris Busby and Helen Caldicott. At this rate we may even get an apology before the lights go out.

They need to start doing helicopter drops of concrete around the perimeter until they have a dike 300 ft tall completely around the fukushima unit 1. Then they need to start filling in the center from outside in so they don't topple any buildings. fill in the south east and west gradually so that it props up 4. Hundreds of helicopters running 24 hrs. a day for a year or more until the entire site is buried under 300 ft of concrete. And then because the cores are under ground they will need to seal the ground for miles in every direction under 100 ft of concrete. If they start building the concrete plant tomorrow and start sending helicopters to the site in 2 months, they should be done b4 2020. Don't hold your breath.

My bet would be that almost as soon as it started, they would start throwing in radioactive waste. That may not be bad in itself though.
Which reminds me… We used to hear a lot about super radioactive sewer sludge. That doesn't exist anymore?

brave names mentioned above. Additionally we had a few heads with funny names noone knows saying exactly the same months ago. Additionally there were hundreds of thousands out there in the world knowing what was going on just by watching the explosions and correlate it with media coverage of previous catastrophies
so sad when clear thinking is exchanged for MSM coverage

Sharp, it'll never happen and I doubt it would contain, isn't FUKU right on a fault line like too many reactors?
I don't believe the nuc folk have a clue how to dispose of the waste yet, and wasn't a big facotr before the plant was even built… not to mention meltdowns…should be reaching 60 feet or so by now, when they hit deeper groundwater it seems to me asd a layman that something bad could happen and the pools above fall over and start some criticality…sky shine?

You’d think people might start to realize something serious is actually going down. They can’t. It’s too horrific.
Listen. If the spent fuel rod pool just at Fukushima reactor 4 collapses, there will be so much plutonium-based radiation released it’s being called a potential Extinction Level Event (ELE). Just that. And if that doesn’t “bake your noodle”, do you know how many hundreds of these types of old dangerous fuel rod stocked reactors there are around the world?
Over 800! And all those built in the 60′s and 70′s are now due for “expiration”! Never mind the plethora of nuclear bomb manufacturing facilities in the US and around the world! We’re talking insane, people

And then of course there will be a sequence of meltdowns because no one will have the ability to keep them online/cooling….so more of the same…until the end. Earth will be a dusty planet.

All the main military powers know, and not just them! The density of the coriums is enough to detect them from space. I tend to believe this time coriums behave differently from the Chernobyl`s one, because there is no added sand, and float, spred and stick partially to materials they come to meet on their way. This information is kept secret, especially for independant scientists.
And dosdos@ is right about R3 corium, at least the greatest part of it is gone in the athmosphere.

From yesterday:
The Worst Yet to Come? Why Nuclear Experts Are Calling Fukushima a Ticking Time-Bomb | Environment.. http://bit.ly/J3vHiI Experts say acknowledging the threat would call into question the safety of dozens of identically designed nuclear power plants in the U.S.
Makes sense doesn't it? They do not want any attention paid to Japan because it would bring attention right back home on the same designs right here.
SHUT THEM ALL DOWN!!

Here is a map including the 30 or so U.S. boiling water reactors, with elevated spent fuel pools, indicated by 'E' in the first red circle of safety issues (select 'operating' and 'boiling water' and 'elevated SPF' and refresh):

There is no disposal solution (as yet) for nuclear "waste" generally and as for daiichi there is no evidence of any serious attempt to reduce the emission of radioactive contamination.
The groundwater however is directly under the plant at a depth of a few metres or less.
Whether a ball of several tons of corium can bore vertically downwards like a manically deranged drill is a point that causes alarm and, wrongfully, nobody is giving out any realistic or probabilistic measures of this happening. In other words authorities either in possession of such knowledge- or not seeking same- are prima facie chargeable with creating and fomenting "baseless rumours" and public panic.
I call on said authorities to publish this information, or alternatively to publish their plan for obtaining same, with IMMEDIATE effect, in order to dispel the opportunity for any more "baseless rumours".
There. Can we have a response? Please!

Unfortunately most reporters on TV, have to report on what is handed to them or they might be looking for work.
I don't know if that is the case with Diane Sawyer?
Look who owns the media. Makes me wonder, how long we will be able to get information online?
Hi Whoopie
Wish all of them would be shut down also.

Take a (not too deep) breath everyone, and salute yourselves for keeping truth watch in these desperate times …. Here the Heart of the Planet is held for our Brothers and Sisters and Children …
Slowly the light of the post nuclear age is dawning on our fellows … and we must salvage what we still can … "a journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step …"
A dream of a world with five hundred mothballed and repurposed nukes is within our grasp …
Nuclear Power is today's Titanic … Remember J.P. Morgan owned the Titanic when decision made to jettison the necessary life boats (corporate hubris) and Morgan Interests have always controlled their main cash cow, General Electric Company, when decision made to market the cut rate, dangerous, undersized Mark I Boiling Water Reactor, over the objections of three of their senior design engineers, who resigned in protest … how is this not criminal, and it's all in the public domain … what are we waiting for???? Mr. Holder, I believe you have a job to do …
And by the way, Mr. Obama (same name as the city where the Oi nukes are by the way .. oh the synchronicity …) Mr. Barack H. Obama, I believe you have a silly opinion to quickly and quietly change …. NO NUKES! THEY ARE NOT SAFE, DEAR SIR! TRY AND GET A GRIP ON THIS!
Just sayin' … Peace everyone and hold firm …
