Japan Professors: Worst case scenario at Fukushima, nuclear rods melted and went through reactor floors; Contamination is impacting rest of world; Likely that entire Pacific will be affected — Farmer: Gov’t doesn’t have any idea about status of fuel (VIDEO)

Kenichi Hasegawa, Farmer from Iitate Village in Fukushima Prefecture, Parliamentary Meeting in Australia, Published March 12, 2013 (at 46:00 in): So the government is promoting image threat it wasn’t a big deal. It’s over, everything’s under control. That’s what government tries to disseminate to the population. However, even now 2 years after, the nuclear fuel that melted down, they don’t have any idea even the constant status. They don’t know what to do with it. That’s the current situation.

The 2011 Eastern Japan Great Earthquake Disaster – Kyoto University’s Okada Norio, Yoshio Kajitani, Hirokazu Tatano & Beijing University’s Tao Ye, Peijun Shi: [T]he nuclear accident gradually became a level 7 nuclear event, which is a major accident and the highest level on the International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES), equivalent to the Chernobyl disaster in April 1986. The radiation in the vicinity of the reactor rose steeply, becoming a deadly threat to the local residents […] three units were exposed to level 7 accidents and one unit was exposed to a level 3 incident. The critical issue in the crisis became the cooling systems failures. […] The high temperature turned most of the internal coolant water into steam, which in turn exposed the fuel rods to air. […] Fuel would escape away from control rods, intensify decay, melt through the reactor floor, and consequently induce a massive release of radioactive isotopes, a worst case scenario. […] Radioactive isotopes released from Fukushima were later detected in North America and other regions in the world. […] The long-term impact of the nuclear crisis to Japan, the Asia-Pacific region, and the entire world is still not fully revealed. […] The radioactive contamination caused by the nuclear accident following the earthquake and tsunami is affecting the rest of the world through atmospheric circulation. The polluted water released by the Tokyo Electric Power Company is likely to affect the entire Pacific Ocean in the coming decades.

The fish found in the water pound in the trench by reactor 3 will test ok for consumption, as the rice growing 1 km from the fuming reactors and as the fish in the sea, 300m from the site. Bon Appetite. No reason to start baseless rumours about the reliability of the test (you would loose your job and could end up in jail if you live in Japan).

I realize Taiji is quite a bit south of Fukushima but surely all the radiated water pouring into the ocean has reached Taiji by now. How the hell can they continue to slaughter all the dolphins as they do annually Sept-March, which they do for FOOD? It's insane.

They are breaking the news to the world population slowly. News we already knew years ago.

When the professor says "Likely that entire Pacific will be affected" still most people cannot fathom the truth of this. Many aren't wise enough to understand that the Pacific Ocean is the planet's largest body of water. Because people use denial to cope with the unfathomable, they will think that the professor means Japan and the islands in The Pacific. No. He means the entire Pacific Ocean.

From the Pacific Ocean entry on Wikipedia:

"At 165.25 million square kilometres (63.8 million square miles) in area, this largest division of the World Ocean – and, in turn, the hydrosphere – covers about 46% of the Earth's water surface and about one-third of its total surface area, making it larger than all of the Earth's land area combined. At 165.25 million square kilometres (63.8 million square miles) in area, this largest division of the World Ocean – and, in turn, the hydrosphere – covers about 46% of the Earth's water surface and about one-third of its total surface area, making it larger than all of the Earth's land area combined."

1/3rd of the earth. 50% of the Earth's water. Gone.

Basically he's saying we are screwed if we don't fix Fukushima. It's a shame that these professors and scientists are not brave enough to come together and tell this to the world. All they do is throw out facts that require…

A structure must be built that collects and condenses the vapor discharges. I propose the "Fluxor" but any structure that stops releases from the venting earth will suffice.

Retrieving the fuel is currently not an option. Preventing releases into the harbor needs to be remedied. Inland settling ponds need to be developed asap.

• We Not They Finally

The Russians built something like that at Chernobyl and called it a "sarcophocus." But that was right at that one relatively small (compared to the Fukushima reactors) Chernobyl reactor and early on.

I believe that it is way WAY too late to do anything of the kind at Fukushima. Everything has burrowed into the earth and into the water and it is spreading over a wide area, much of which is completely inaccessible by now, even if because of the astronomically high radioactivity.

There probably were things that might have been done early on to at least prevent how UN-containable this became. But now it's too late.

And how do you send a thousand tons a day of rushing water into "inland ponds"?

I think you're talking about "denial" here.

"The Russians built something like that at Chernobyl and called it a "sarcophocus.""

When this event happened all Nuclear Power Plants should have been shut down worldwide immediately and they were not?

Is not the trillion dollar USA loan debt outstanding for "College Education" suppose to be for learning?

Well I guess not and education must really be only for the creation of more "debt slaves" based on the educated controller/masters response to the Chernobyl disaster.

Fukushima is the same..

For other uses, see Sarcophagus (disambiguation).

Stone sarcophagus of Pharaoh Merenptah.

"A sarcophagus is a box-like funeral receptacle for a corpse, most commonly carved in stone, and displayed above ground, though they may also be buried. The word "sarcophagus" comes from the Greek σάρξ sarx meaning "flesh", and φαγεῖν phagein meaning "to eat", hence sarkophagus means "flesh-eating"; from the phrase lithos sarkophagos (λίθος σαρκοφάγος). Since lithos is Greek for stone, lithos sarcophagos means "flesh-eating stone". The word also came to refer to a particular kind of limestone that was thought to decompose the flesh of corpses interred within it.[1][2

Sarcophagi were most often designed to remain above ground."

Total Cesium-137 Released Into The Environment: 690PBq

(100% of the total load of Reactor1-3.)

Plus all the rest of the radionuclides.
Plus all releases from other damaged reactors, like Fukushima 5&6, and burning SFP4.
You are right, WNTF.

What has happened is a total release of the three cores into the environment.
This can't be undone.
There is no evidence that a Sarcophagus is being planned.
And a cap would do nothing to stop ocean contamination via groundwater.
So TEPCO continues to dink around with water tanks, and talks about "leaks" and "mistakes" and "morale."
The great Japanese Unwinding continues.

FUFU and events like it have shown us, we need a new form of world governance if we are going to survive as a species.

We have recent decades been shown and now must understand that humans have the ability to destroy the bioshpere's current configuration – the place that we rely on for our very existence. We now must develop a global political system that has this understanding at its core to cope with our behavior and tendencies.

One that recognizes the inherent flaws of man. One that restrains and directs them through law and our social structures into a reasonable and sustainable balance with the bioshpere – that we need to survive in long term as a species.. ****Capitalism by definition accepts, glorifies, encourages and enables these flaws to thrive. It is the engine of global disaster.

There are 3 major human flaws 1) The need to accumulate wealth, property and power – both individually and in select combinations – 2) The abuses of human ingenuity-technology in its nexus with #1 – 3) The distortion of concepts of human exceptionalism-importance in and to the world around us in its nexus with #1 and #2.

While some of the above flaws are part of the "good" special qualities of the human species, they are proving empirically to be deadly flaws..

Property, wealth, power and technology must be held in common for the common good of all – to include all of the biosphere. Or we will soon perish from this earth as a species..

ALL oceans are connected! So just to say the Pacific is a misnomer. The Pacific ocean has no dams or land to keep pollution contained, just look at a map. Some land and continent land masses will slow down the water's mixing, but it will happen. A full turn over takes hundred(s) of years, but high level mixing by currents makes that rather moot. Add to that the atmospheric fallout spreading this poison and we all get radiation. Probably at least a 'thyroid dose' in our lifetimes if not more…Just saying..

So, today it is sunny here in America, where these days 5 or 6 reporting stations on Radiation Network have radiation readings above half of the Alert Value.
These readings are increasing, and will never decrease in our lifetimes.
Fallout adds radiation to the soil, where it will accumulate as ever more falls from the sky.
Radiation increases up the food chain, as life absorbs radionuclides.
Mutations increase over the generations, each suffering more than its predecessors.
But today it is sunny here in America.
I believe I will leave my dark thoughts here, inside.
I believe it is time to go outside and play.

Our fates are sealed as far as the spread of the Fukushima fallout. The West Coast is both downwind and down current from Fukushima.

The various vectors of fallout cannot be stopped. Aerosolized particles are carried by the winds. The ocean currents bring more radionuclides, maybe via Buckyballs.

Cesium isotopes go by deposition into the biosphere after coming down in precipitation. The way I understand things, the radiation dump from Fukudhima will continue for decades or centuries…

Strontium-90 serms to predominate in Fukushima more than in Fukushima. That is very bad.

Eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow you will die….

Acceptance of our fates is key. Despite the official denial, the events will take their course. I just wonder how great the initial releases were. I suspect that several Chernobyls equivalents went up into the atmosphere, the cores are ex-vessel, and Niagra Falls worth of water passes through the reactors every day.

This contamination will be a time-release poison for the biosphere, as you suggest.

Nothing has yet been proven either way, The information so far shows that no molten or solid material escaped the reactor vessels, yet every armchair idiot opens their mouth as though they are right there the whole time.
