TEPCO Kamikazes. May these workers and the many that have followed them RIP, although their “masters” deserve no respect, these men were trying to save us.

It is a little different than the situation of soldiers killing people because of orders and those that give the orders are evil. This is way more clear cut. The workers are very brave people and are working only to the benefit of the world. The politicians are so far removed from radiation’s devastating effects that they can laugh it off. He probably thought, “How cute! Argh, hargh, hargh.

Sad thing is, he is just a pawn like the rest of us. The irony of the situation is captured brilliantly by what Hillary Clinton said when asked about the branch of the Council on Foreign Relations opening up near her work. She said, “That’s great, now I just have to walk down the street to find out what I am supposed to be doing and how to think about the future.” They are just little pawns with no soul. The real evil power needs to be stopped before anything else will be solved.

Nice try. Straight from the playbook. Acknowledge but Minimize the fatalities.

How are they defining “lethal”. As in kills immediately, within a day, a week, a month, or a year? If I were exposed, and die from leukemia 7 months from now, would I have been considered to have received a “lethal” dose? Or does it require the prerequisite of hair and teeth falling out, accompanied by nosebleeds?

It’s a hell of lot more than 5 folks.

This is your misinterpretation of my writings!

My numbers are now at 462,
      this included many deaths
caused by the Evacuation in the 20Km Zone!

But many People in the West think this was
“only old and sick People” but not me!

The People in the West want to see death by Radiation
      imho this is very shortsighted!

It’s a lethal dose of Radiation roughly 2-3SV lethal if not treated, 3-5 SV unlikely to survive and 5-10SV certainly lethal.

So if 5 people have been reported to have “lethal” doses than they were subject to 5-10SV. Once the human body begins to accumulate those levels of radiation from airborne contamination and from internal exposure it’s curtains for millions. The question is how quickly people in the surrounding areas of the plant will begin showing signs of sickness and how quickly it begins. From what I have seen it has taken 10 months to really begin seeing noted health problems such as tooth lose and hair thinning. If 1 report shows this many symptoms than how many other people are seeing the same problems? A medical database needs to be made with interviews from people living in the surrounding areas because if the plant workers are already exposed to 5-10SV than the population will be subject to a certain percentage of that radiation. There have been very few interviews with people living in the affected areas that I have seen recently. Most were from a few weeks ago to a month so if there is any new information on the health of the citizens in Fukushima prefecture it would be valuable to have. It’s snowing here in Denver so I’m guessing the backround levels are pretty high right now. Going to go check Jtekton’s youtube to see how Durango looks.

Large number of fish found dead in south China river.
    (Xinhua) 15:58, January 10, 2012

GUANGZHOU, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) — A large number of fish were found dead Monday in a major river in the southern province of Guangdong, local authorities confirmed Tuesday.

Floating fish were reported in a three-kilometer section of the Xijiang River in the Jiangmen City on Monday morning, but the situation improved Tuesday with no more dead fish found, said Zhao Yanqiang, spokesman for the city’s publicity department.

An initial probe has ruled out a lack of oxygen or low water temperatures as the cause of the death.

Local authorities initiated an emergency response Monday for disposal of the dead fish, Zhao said.

A further investigation by local environmental and fishery authorities is under way.

Xijiang River is a major tributary of the Pearl River, the third longest river in China and a pivotal waterway that runs across the economic heartland of Guangdong.

  • MORE than 150 flights to and from Beijing have been cancelled or delayed as a thick cloud of acrid smog shrouded the city, with US figures saying the pollution was so bad it was off the scale.

    http://www.sott.net/articles/show/240111-Off-The-Scale-Smog-Grounds-China-Flights

The national meteorological centre said the Chinese capital had been hit by thick fog that reduced visibility to as little as 200 metres in some parts of the city, while official data judged air quality to be “good”.

But the US embassy, which has its own pollution measuring system, said on its Twitter feed that the concentration of the smallest, most dangerous particles in the air was “beyond index” for most of the morning.

The US system measures particles in the air of 2.5 micrometers or less, known as PM2.5, considered the most dangerous for people’s health.

Today’s reading on its air quality index, which rates anything over 150 as unhealthy, over 200 as very unhealthy and over 300 as hazardous, breached the upper limit of 500, at which it stops giving figures.

Meanwhile, the Beijing Environmental Bureau, which currently bases its air quality information on particles of 10 micrometres or larger, known as PM10, said the air quality in the capital was “good”.

A spokesman for the bureau would not comment when contacted by AFP.

According to Beijing International Airport’s website, 155 flights were delayed or cancelled today. Air France and Lufthansa flights coming from Paris and Tokyo respectively were among those grounded.

The frequent discrepancy between US embassy readings and official data on pollution in Beijing has caused huge public anger as more and more residents worry about their health.

    • remember that on fukushima diary that we have insider reports / tweets stating that fukushimas smog had been worse this week than any other.

So my conclusion: It is very very very possible these two incidents are related.

    • Tacomagroove,
Smog shrouded the cities is nothing new, even as far south in Nanning and can linger for weeks if air currents are not strong to move it away faster then it can produced, I spent some time there on two different stays, 06 and 07 this was a major concern during the Olympics in 08 so China had to shut down many industrial business’s weeks prior to the games !
Many vehicles there do not have devices on auto/other to cut harmful emission so the traffic itself is a large problem and growing with the incomes and more vehicles being purchase so new records will be the norm as it was here before we made changes !

It is quite possible that the radioactive steam “event” many have been warning against has indeed started to happen and it is now “venting” radioactivity into the atmosphere over Japan! The wind charts for the last few days will tell the tale as will the future… http://www.zerohedge.com/article/interactive-japan-wind-map
