Description: I went through all news on my HDD there was 7 news since midnight. Almost 24 hours after Demonstration media blackout. [...]
Transcript Excerpts
… Today is just an unbelievable day… yesterday we had massive, massive protests in front of PM Noda’s… and the news, nothing. There was very short news on Miyagi TV… not even 1 minute… nothing about size… just tried to ‘mild up’ why the people were protesting…
No other news… almost 24 hours after the big demonstration begins and yet we don’t have news in Japan about the massive demonstration. Can you believe this?
…the foreigner news online… Japan Times, nothing… Mainichi Daily News, nothing…
NHK World… very short news… nothing about size… used 2 peoples’ comments…
The media is completely failing us… This is outrageous. This is not normal what is happening in Japan. This reminds me a little bit of when I used to live in communist times. The information is not accessible… you have to see it… please go online and watch the real news…

How can 200,000 people go to a protest, and there is zero coverage from the news. Last summer our local news talked about the 50 Occupy people in the park for weeks, every night.

found story on UPI they say police estmate the crowd was about 15,000

If they have nothing negative to report then they report nothing. If there had been arrests or violence it would be talked about every night.

Japan's media people have been bought off: http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2012/06/fukushimas-lesson-learned-well-by.html?showComment=1341096478422#c3336004860338639646
I always wondered why we heard over and over about Exon's and BPs spills, but minimal about Fukushima.
When I read Earnest Sternglass' book it became clear that by the 1970s the media had been bought off by the nuclear industry and the modus operandi was to ridicule any assertions that nuclear was unsafe. This was so nuclear weapons could continue their development and storage without public concern. Now I want to read 100,000,000 Guinea Pigs (1933) which prompted the formation of the FDA. Because now we have millions more Guinea Pigs (i.e. all forms of life really).

I also have to say I have seen no protests from Japan on our TV either. So what's up with that!
Plenty of Syrian's shooting each other.
Fires in Colorado… burning the underbrush that has had fallout for more than 16 months accumulating and now it's become airborne again.
No warnings, no mention in the news of radiation and how it spreads.
No mention of how this fallout has affected and will continue to affect the planet's climate in ways the global warming guys never even thought of.
The blackout and control of the media will intensify. Nothing will be tested properly or timely. There will be no alerts. We have been on our own and will remain on our own. They will remain silent… no matter what!
Why? "Because", they will say, "there is no immediate concern" or "It's like an x-ray after eating a banana" or "It will disperse by the time it gets here, there's no need to test".
Then, they will repeat it.
I can only hope and pray that somebody somewhere during a 'live' campaign town hall meeting will ask the candidate the ultimate question.
"What is your opinion of Fukushima FALLOUT and the current situation of 3 nuclear reactor meltdowns in Japn? Do you think the radioactive contamination of the Pacific ocean will affect the 'chain of life'. Please be specific."
This should be the first question to each and every political candidate everywhere.

no mention on australian media either.
probably because the australian uranium industry processes and exports around 10,000 tonnes of uranium oxide each year. These exports generate about $A900 million in sales each year.

now we can't interupt that can we ?

The sheeple don't want to read about real disasters. Hollywood gossip is much more interesting.

hi sharp. that list is sick.
so okay, the 'energy issue' of carbon tax was number 5, but only because people are worried about their hip pocket.
no wonder we're heading where we're heading
mind candy.

The sheeple actively distance themselves as far as they can from reality. It's the only relief they have from their (perceived) miserable existence.
They worship actors and actresses who pretend to be someone else, and that "someone else" is the invention of still someone else's imagination.
The people they worship are already two levels removed from reality, and then the sheeple pretend that the 2nd-level of pretense is somehow relevant to their own lives. That puts their own conception of "reality" three levels removed from truth and reality.
And they thrive on the pretense. They foster it, promote it, and worship it. Sadly, this seems to be case for the majority of western civilization.
When I ponder this, I wonder if our concern for the viability of mankind is misplaced. Do we really want to save this sad state of evolution? Mankind ceased being a heroic species, worthy of praise and redemtion centuries ago.
Yes, I am very depressed today, and am not feeling charitable to my bretheren. I admit it. Someone should slap me and shake me out of this rant.

We had a video report in the late night TV news. Apart from that: close to zero.

Thanks for this ..CB.
The anti nuke bloggers have been accused of irresponsilbilty.
When in fact..to fail to fight for the people would be the ultimate irresponsibilty.
The protesters may soon be abused.
And am I asking them to..take it..if it comes to it.
The answer is ..yes.
There is no other way.

looks like that ogilvy and maher have overdone the bookburning to match even goebbels attempts at rewriting history.. not surprising as they have the full support of the corporations and the politicians..
and it makes the msm look really dangerous, stupid and shallow.. cant wait for the japanese copyright/censorship laws to come in.. then we will have to lose the copyright crap and create our own news broadcasts.. we nned to cut hollywwod and the media out of the loop.. they offer a very crap service anyway.. dont give them your money or your time..
banzai!!
nice post henry!!

I went to the front page of the New York Times http://www.nytimes.com/
…and found nothing with a normal, quick scan…
so I clicked on "World" which took me here http://www.nytimes.com/pages/world/index.html
…and found nothing (the top story was about the next generation of the "Lost Boys of Sudan")
so I clicked on "Asia Pacific" which took me http://www.nytimes.com/pages/world/asia/index.html
…and found nothing (the leading story was about a high school test in China)
….and then scrolled through about 14 more links to stories,
down
to
the

…and then finally found the link to the story.
Buried, nowhere near the front page. How many will follow all of those links who don't already know to look? Yet they can try to claim they didn't censor the breaking news.

This is the largest demonstrations in mantime – and the news is silence.
What a shame of journalist work.
This is the "people that are been shaking" – from the earth.
The media who is not reporting the scale of this – must be reported. They are not doing their job. But where to report – when the FREE WORD – is not free..
This is people being silenced – by their own media.
The first and most important – is freedom of speech.

No word in the media. Where have you been for the last 60 years?
Mainstream News is an entertainment industry, not a reflection of reality. Reality is not their job, their job is selling.
TIME TO WAKE UP!

Hey, at least the Japanese did not “OPEN THE HEADS OF THESE PROTESTORS” LIKE THEY DID IN THE US. JAPAN, YOU HAVE IT BETTER THEN THE US. YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT CENSORSHIP, WATCH OUR NEWS!
PERHAPS, THE PEOPLE IN THE US ARE JUST TOO DUMB TO UNDERSTAND? I MEAN, HALF OF THESE IDIOTS CARP ABOUT WELFARE (and cry about foodstamps) WHEN JP MORGAN SUCKS UP “50-BILLION IN US GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES,” WELFARE!
I Hear all this Complaining about OWS, well IDIOTS, YOU WILL SUPPORT THE BANKS … YOU WILL BE TAXED, AND IF I HEAR ONE COMPLAINT, I WILL PERSONALLY BUST YOUR HEAD OPEN! THE BANKS DEMAND YOU HAVE NUCLEAR POWER … THEY PROFIT … AND YOU, "EAT THE FISH!"
OH, AND JAPAN, IF YOU WANT THE TRUTH, THE US GOVERNMENT ORDERED YOUR GOVERNMENT TO LIE. THAT’S HOW IT ALWAYS WORKS. REALLY, THE US IS THE RULER OF THIS WORLD. ANYONE WHO DOES NOT KNOW THAT BY NOW IS JUST SLOW.
Report Comment
The brutal truth is here. You made the comment of the day, Ivan.
Report Comment
Lots of truth there
It was very clear cut how information was somewhat coming out from Japan, then the US Carrier got dosed with radiation, which woke up the Washington fishheads, who then went into BP style coverup blackout mode and told Japan to do the same unless you don't want our protection and then we will let China come to "save you"
To them it is a game, a strategy, regardless of the human cost unless they loss their power privledge and pensions PPP

Well, where are the independent bloggers? Where is the private video uploaded to Youtube? Those are still viable options, probably the ONLY viable options at this point.
