Title: Minamisoma children take part in sports event

A group of children in Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture, have taken part in their first outdoor sporting event since [3/11]
Minamisoma is about 25 kilometers from the damaged power plant. Until the end of September last year, the town was included in an evacuation zone.
The sport festival at Sayuri Kindergarten began with a pledge by the children to do their best.

The kindergarten says the radiation level in the playground was about 0.2 microsieverts per hour after undergoing decontamination. The school usually only allows the children to play outside for half an hour for safety reasons.

Agreed. But, the UN also has no actual jurisdiction over any government or corporation, particularly one affiliated with the USA. Yet, they can use public persuasion and make compassionate appeals. They are currently trying to get Japan government andcTEPCO to accept the unified assistance and expertise of outside nuclear scientists from around the world, including medical doctors. Japanese government and TEPCO are still refusing their offer.

Markww: The World Health Organization has a strong contingent that has been *very* outspoken on behalf of what has happened, is happening, with children especially, from Chernobyl.
The IAEA has been absolutely, even fiercely, resistant to acknowledging the deep harm. Because of "hierarchical" structure within the UN, the IAEA position dominates over WHO.
At least – that is what is clearly shown in this 2001 50min documentary: "Nuclear Truth: Atomic Disaster", http://youtu.be/3YmZbb8ZVmE. It documents a critical policy debate between WHO and IAEA representatives.
The video link was posted yesterday by Mack on nuclear discussion. I think it's a 'must see'. It gives insight into attitudes and shows "industry interests".
I think it also has value to let us 'see inside mindsets' of pro/anti nuke "decider" level motivations probably within govts, etc.
Amazing in vid how science data is dismissed even within science-based professions.
I can't say the vid helps answer your question – but I suspect it very much relates.

Please try to be more accurate when accusing people. Greenpeace was and has been actively involved in bringing many concerns about the dangers of Fukushima radioactive fall out to the public. In fact, it was Greenpeace there before anyone else.. Btw, many stars speak out, too, but last i looked, not a single person on your blame list owns or controls the mainstream or alternative medias.
