  • Wow, that's hard to believe since nuke power is so economical.

Yes, Anne, so environmentally safe that wildlife refuges have to be cut up, the endangered animals endangered again, and the local economies decimated in order to even the mine the "green and wonderful" uranium. Gotta admire those deep thinkers.

The takeaway here is that we now have testimony before a Committee about Japan going bankrupt over Fuku. Please at least look at the second video everyone. Great job, Admin. TEPCO is already insolvent, in government receivership. The Government will restart nukes against the will of the people. Japan is lost. An entire nation will disappear because of a man-made disaster. And I thought New Orleans was bad, where we merely lost a major American city. "Politics without Principal."

predicted half-year ago; insolvency on a scale unknown before in human history. These are the dribs-n-drabs purposely being leaked into the media, the goal being to justify having the world-body pickup the tab for this catastrophe.

They'll add some controlled opposition to the mix, who'll support our absorbing the costs of this fiasco. They'll throw-in some symbolic compromises (expedited shutting down of old facilities, Nixonian-EPA-smiley-face remediation programs, grants for some renewable energy 'pilot' programs), to get us to think we're making progress against nuclear power. They'll even tread the razor's edge by allowing the prosecution of one-or-two symbolic incompetents. They'll even get the controlled opposition to foster the idea that we're all indirectly responsible for nuclear power, and therefore obligated to get behind the remediation effort. They'll stay at this until it's accepted that we're supposed to be honored to pay for Fukushima's remediation. Add some images of the young victims and you've got a winning campaign, which shields the real criminals, continues the proliferation of this insidious technology and most importantly, allows the profiteers to hold-tight to their ill-gotten gains. All resulting in succeeding generations being forced into ever debilitating health and poverty…

Do you recall the story about the beach rocks that burned a woman recently? Please see http://enenews.com/forum-general-discussion-thread-nuclear-issues-23-31-2012/comment-page-3#comment-256726
I would like your take on this.

Those rocks are likely to be burnt nuke fuel, probably from the demolition of Building3. Watch what you put in your pocket. The beach is no longer a safe place for children to play. I'd like to see the bq/kg readings on those rocks to tell for sure. But they certainly don't belong in a child's hands or a mother's pocket.

thanks philip. As we're long past deluding ourselves that this will go away by itself, it's equally important that we realize that – all – future solutions must be on own terms…not theirs.

They've done a bang-up job of decimating our planet. There's no longer any need to rely on their 'expertise' or to buy into the idea of compromise, as we move forward. If there's any chance of our extricating ourselves from this ongoing nightmare, we must make a point of moving towards a world where such scenarios can never happen again! Otherwise, why not simply let the 'chips' fall where they will.

I have zero-tolerance for child molesters/pornographers/rapist/murderers. I make no distinction between those who'd serve their own immediate gratification, at the expense of innocents and those who support nuclear power. None. These people have put all of us at terrible risks. As I'd not bother to seek terms of understanding with those who exploit children in such vile a manner, I refuse to compromise that same stance by allowing those who support nuclear power technologies the right to violate any further innocents on this planet.

If one is willing to walk-away from past associations with nuclear-power, we must accept them back-into the family of humanity and protect them as our own. Anything less should be considered criminal and dealt with as such. This is now about everyone of us, our families and all future generations…

Aftershock: Many thanks for your thoughtful comments. If we can wrest societal controls from the hands of TPTB, let's keep in mind that all of our current institutions are built on greed. I, for one, do not consider greed a good thing, and certainly service to self is no basis for a high culture. Service to self got us where we are: ineffective governments protecting corporate clients, companies who value profits above public safety, corp.gov that gave us the destruction of New Orleans, the Gulf of Mexico, and now the ruin of the entire Pacific Ocean. The correct basis for a culture of human beings is service to others. Let's keep this in mind in the aftermath of the revolution that is now certain to come. Time for each human being on Earth to decide which side they are on. A hard rain is agonna fall.

    Gandhi Seven Social Sins

    Politics without principles
    Wealth without work
    Pleasure without conscience
    Knowledge without character
    Commerce without morality
    Science without humanity
    Worship without sacrifice

Dr. Koida quotes Mahatma Gandhi in the second video above. TEPCO and nuke industry embody "Commerce without morality". You guys lie like a rug!

one small reactor appears to have caused the collapse of the soviet union and i know that is not a good comparison in wealth. three large reactors and a large reactors storage pool in total disintegration mode, and possibly up to ten more,,,bankruptcy?? bankruptcy is the concern ?

    "Science without humanity"

Humanity that suppresses spiritual roots is not humane. Hhumanity that chooses the expulsion of the life-giver from their lives will end up with their death wish.

The religion of atheism is a death religion. The admin should consider a forum where folks can post 'spiritual' discourse should they choose, rather than cloistering atheism as non-religion, to have free-reign on this site.

All our physical bodies are terminal. The admin would do a service providing that forum for those seeking the hope of life when dealing with the health consequences of the growing environmental toxins.

Faithhopelove: Late to this thread, but here is my take.

To live is to face death.

Life is rare in a vast universe,
      therefore all life is precious.

We were all going to die anyway,
now just sooner than we thought.

      In the meantime,
Love, be gentle, and be kind.
