First Japanese in space becomes Fukushima evacuee, AJW (Asahi Shimbun) by ATSUSHI TAKAHASHI, December 07, 2011:
Toyohiro Akiyama
- Japan’s first man in space is now roaming the Earth as an evacuee
- Lost everything after abandoning his farm in Fukushima Prefecture
- Feels that the anger he feels about the Fukushima nuclear accident is what keeps him going
- “I used my retirement pay to buy the farmland and build a house”
- “I feel as though a robber has taken everything from me”
- “The nuclear accident contaminated the expansive forests of Abukuma and spread radioactive materials into the Earth’s atmosphere and waters”
- “I cannot trust the central government’s argument that it is therefore safe”
Career
- Akiyama was a journalist with Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc.
- While working for TBS, Akiyama served as chief of the Washington bureau
- He stayed aboard the Mir space station in 1990 for one week, giving live reports each day to the nation
After March 11
- His home was in Tamura, Fukushima Prefecture, about 32 kilometers from the Fukushima meltdowns
- On March 12, Akiyama first fled to [...] Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, about 50 kilometers away
- He [moved to] a rented house along the mountains in Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture
Enenews readers may have an idea why enlightened Gunma Prefecture was Mr. Akiyama destination of choice…

“Radiation Map by Ministry of Education: Gunma Looks Worse Than Expected”

the same ministry of education that teaches the children only of the positive side to nuclear…
my thoughts to the people of gunma!
the horrible irony of the an effective and sustainable community blighted by the contamination of a nuclear reactor or three + spent fuel pool of course!!
a bit of a downer for me! i was hoping that things might be better there! there is a need for proper on the ground testing like they did innorway after chernobyl, and testing stations set up as extensive as germanies… and this from the exskf thread comments

“…..In fact the raw data show the same discrepancies as you can find when overlaying the contamination maps.
For example, Ukraininan westernmost oblast Zakarpatska, hundreds of kilometers west of Chernobyl, shows high plutonium contamination in contrast to comparatively low cesium contamination.
So the theory spread by the nuclear lobby that plutonium contamination concentrates near the accident sites seems definitely to be wrong. (I have to admit that I also believed that deception until I looked closer at the facts that usually are kept classified.)
However, it is essential for the nuclear industry to maintain their lie that it is sufficient to look at cesium contamination only.
Because, if people would look at other contaminants and not only at cesium, they would recognize that the contamination damage is way larger and more widespread than being suggested to the public.
An important part of the deception is the belief that lower becquerel counts automatically mean less health risk.
This is grossly wrong because of various reasons.
First, as internal alpha radiation damage is officially considered at least twenty times more dangerous than gamma damage. So 100 Bq of plutonium are considered as dangerous as 2000 Bq of cesium.
Second, as plutonium is way longer lived than cesium, 100 Bq of plutonium contamination is much……….”

Astronaut turned organic farmer reflects on evacuation from Fukushima:

I liked this article about him from Mainichi back in August also.

I remember this guy when he was an astronaut. He had a happier face than now.
We have all come to the realization that this thing has the potential to take everything away from us.
Tepco has realized it.
The Japanese government has realized it.
The people in Fukushima have realized it.
And most of us here at Enenews have realized it.
But it can take more than the stuff you own. It can take your life – your very ability to own stuff.
Right now I see a struggle between those who make money from Nuclear – obviously many of whom are very powerful – and those who will lose their lives and fortunes from nuclear, plus those who possibly will.
It seems to me that the former is a small group and the latter a large group.

The Trolls at HP have come out in full force. They are feeling the HEAT. Fukushima is a game changer for the planet and they know it. They are attempting to SAVE THEIR LIVELIHOODS which is MONEY. The only one I “think” knows the TRUTH but doesn’t admit it, is Atoms. He’s a retired Engineer. He’s the ONLY one I like at HP. Altho he DOES piss me off at times, he’s the only one I feel compassion off of sometimes. (sickening to think that there’s only one!)

I’ve lurked over there from time to time. I don’t have time to post.
I think back on my own journey from believing the nuke rhetoric to now laughing at it, and realize they’ve pulled the wool over a lot of people’s eyes – even their own, for a long time, and it’s got to be incredibly frustrating to see what you believe and what has provided your livelihood to have been a pack of lies – even as you fight for the money..

So basically, if you’re dead owning ‘stuff’ is meaningless. I get it.
Could someone please send a memo to our government and the Nuclear Power plant owners. I am not sure they are aware of the above fact.

John Glen was our first astronaut to orbit the earth.
And yes Fukushima disaster still sucks!!!!!

@Whoopie the trolls at HP can do whatever they want. I’m kind of liking it right now because when the explosion comes, and it is very close to it, they will be completely discredited. I warned Arianna months ago that people were saving their emails to her about Fukushima.
There, unfortunately may be one last-ditch effort to change peoples focus from Fukushima but it won’t work.
They are counting down to the explosion. Anyone on here who is monitoring HAARP- today is the day to pay attention.
It is very possible that Japan is about to suddenly have a nice large “unexpected” earthquake.
Then the story will be that they were “doing their best” and the next earthquake came.
The explosion cannot be suppressed now. All they are doing now is preparing the cover story and their defense.
Wait for it…

Hmmm. I said on the other thread that it was more difficult to spot the shills now – perhaps I spoke too soon…
