Title: Inland Quake May Hit Fukushima Nuclear Plant: Study Warns
Source: Jiji Press
Date: 2012/02/15-23:26
There is a high possibility of a strong inland earthquake hitting the crippled nuclear power plant in Fukushima Prefecture, experts warned Wednesday. [...]
Water was found some 150 kilometers under the surfaces of the two faults, and the water, ascended from the Pacific slab because of underground pressure, is believed to have seeped into the Idosawa fault, triggering the massive Iwaki shake [...]
A similar event may happen in the Futaba fault, the researchers think.
Wall Street Journal, Study Predicts Increased Earthquake Activity Near Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant; Suggests Security Measures:
The paper’s parting words: “Therefore, much attention should be paid to the FNPP (Fukushima nuclear power plant) seismic safety in the near future.”

change "underground pressure" to "hole drilled by melted core"

When is this going to happen?
The geologists said in the "near future" according to WSJ, but what does that mean, coming from a geologist?
Hopefully it means within the next few million years, wich would be a short timespan for a geologist. The last this we need now is another 9'er.

Sounds like it could very well happen – WHEN the the $10000000000 dollar question.

I told you just a week ago that EQ activity will heighten in the coming weeks.
They are absolutely worried about the coming EQ's.
March 1 – February 18th.
Sunspots are not producing x ray output at this time.
There is a current solar storm taking place on our sun. This is the eye of the storm. Just wait…
In 3-8 weeks all that will change. We will see another 7.0 or larger in this time.

What kind of planning and response would you do if there should be an earthquake that takes down
spent fuel pool #4. It would seems that the West Coast of America would be hit quite hard
with waves and waves of radiation and subsequently all other areas of the jet stream path.
Not trying to be fatalistic but realistic. I like look at the bull directly in the eye.

Set up your shelter in place, be ready for 3 weeks.

Posted that too right under TG's comment! Thanks stock!

Yes for those that think you can run and that it's safer in South America, I'm sorry to tell you that you are now mistaken. I thought the same thing until I saw the shift of the jet stream or rather the split. Best to stock up and stay put for a few weeks. I'm so glad my children are now adults and my heart breaks for those of you with small children but there are many things you can do to protect them, vitamins, staying out of the snow and rain, etc. Take good care.

Rather supplements such as apple pectin, calcium, and magnesium. There is plenty of info right here on ….. I forget the name of the site but it's here and loaded with info or just google supplements for radiation sickness.

It will likely follow the next / first x class solar flare that has an earthbound directory.

Don't you people realize that there is a rift in the middle of the pacific spewing lava on a continuing basis, and this action is shoving all the plates apart, and forcing them under the continental plates of the land masses where they meet around the ring of fire ….
This never stopping conveyer belt is for the most part , simply put what causes the earthquakes… The entire earths crust is floating on the hot magma underneath, our earth's core .. so it's constantly moving … People used to say that when the planets all lined up there was enough gravitational pull to cause quakes, but it really only affects the Tide, Spring tides occur when the planets all line up, rarely is there any EQ's outside the norm during these times …
Not woo woo from the sky… I tend to stick with peer reviewed scientific studys, they are self correcting …

I'm with you Cindy. While I know that solar flares are a major concern I do not think they can actually cause earthquakes. Having said that they can certainly contribute to the problem with power outages, etc. but actually causing an earthquake? Hmmm, not sure about that one.

Do you want my job. From the land of the rising sun, they bring their old plutonium and we unload it in the bay, for 2 dollars 40 cents a day…..http://youtu.be/guW3NXEKdy8

oops I guess Solar flares can contribute to earthquakes"NASA admitted on their website "spacequakes can cause Northern lights and magnitude 5 or 6 earthquake". And a little poem:
Vortices swirl
plasma a'twirl
Richter predicts
a magnitude six
However, the poem may use artistic license rather than scientific rigor.

Well then, I stand corrected…
It was also suggested that Japan would have another large Earthquake because of the 'Lava on the move' in the Kilauea Volcano… I live on the flank of this volcano and I'm aware of another inflation/deflation event is occuring.. It has been errupting continously for the last 25 years, the longest erruption in history… So I don't believe that one either

TEPCO does not seem to do much, the Japanese politicians could not care less. The US west coast would be hit hard, and what aree are the American doing? hum….

What they did back in April, 2011. Lie to us.
When rad levels started to rise to unsafe last April, we were told the rad monitors were having "glitches"….no more readings were disseminated. Our president said the US was perfectly safe from Fukushima radiation. Media (TV, newspapers, etc) has been feeding us very rare little blurbs that always end with some form of this statement….."no immediate health threat", and "no levels that present immediate danger".
At least I haven't heard the bullshit lately about safer than a cross country airplane flight, safer than eating a banana or you get more radiation from sleeping next to another person.

We have been brainwashed to think government is our friend, TV news gives us knowledge and corporations produce products that only enhance our life experience.
The truth is government's job is to keep the sheep quiet and passive while the corporations "shear" us of our money, environment and our health……and now our very existence.
To label them all Evil is much too kind.
