“Now They Tell Us” Series: Depleted Uranium Storage Facility Next to Cosmo Oil Refinary In Chiba Burned after Earthquake Hit on March 11, EX-SKF, July 3, 2011:
From Chiba Nippo (7/1/2011):
[Headline:] Depleted Uranium Storage Facility Also Burned when Cosmo Oil’s Gas Tank Exploded
On June 30 Chiba Prefectural Assembly held meetings of 2 standing committees [...] it was revealed that the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) tank fire and explosion at Cosmo Oil Refinery in Ichihara City, Chiba also burned the adjacent depleted uranium storage facility. There was no leak of radioactive materials, according to the committee.
The Chiba prefectural fire department disclosed that the depleted uranium storage facility’s roof was burned down because of the fire and explosion of the LPG tank at Cosmo Oil. The depleted uranium storage facility belongs to Chisso Petrochemical [subsidiary of Chisso Corporation].
According to the fire department, the storage facility is licensed by the national government as “nuclear fuel usage location”, and had 765 kilograms of depleted uranium that contained 0.3% of radioactive material [uranium]. The depleted uranium is used as catalyst for gas production. [...]

Thanks for that. Should be posted on the wall of every office. I wouldn’t know how to do that.
One can only hope that the idiot politicians that promote this despicable “warfare” (read: brutalisation) will end up in eternal torment.
Maybe the collapse of “western” economic “civilisation” will be necessary to teach us all a lesson. I personally cannot see anyone listening for less cause.

Any way, we heed the warnings about mercury and fish and not to eat too much of certain kinds and limit out intake !

Luckily, 1800 lbs of DU is a drop in the bucket in the scheme of things. It is radioactive though, betas, and a tiny spot of it is likely on the side of your CDV-700 as a calibration source.
Don’t believe me that this is tiny? Look at the 100′s if not 1000′s of tons of DU munitions dropped by NATO countries and the US on Bosnia/Serbia, on Fallujah, and God knows where else.
Yes, look at the Fallujah babies, then look again, and reflect on the fact that anyone who drops a DU weapon anywhere in the world is guilty of committing genocide on the civilians and country where the weapons are dropped.
It’s genocide, in the name of cheap oil, for America’s Hummers, Cadillacs, wheed-whackers and leaf-blowers. Enjoy that leaf-blower, and try try not to think about what your cheap gas cost the human beings that formerly had decent lives in hot and dusty lands.

Me too, in part.
Using DU in munitions is deplorable.
On the other side, personally, I like America’s Hummers, Cadillacs, wheed-whackers and leaf-blowers.

I want to leave and not be a party any longer to what they do. The DH will not go (yet).
I can no longer stand condoning their actions. Maybe it was better not knowing.
I hate HUMMERS ! Another GM monster-same co. that scrapped a perfectly good working electric car and also screwed my Mom out of here pension after 45 years of work. She was not too big to fail.

Correct. DU ammo is very popular with NATO.

Quoted from the above article:
“The depleted uranium is used as catalyst for gas production.”
How many countries are using depleted uranium as a catalyst for gas production?
Is the U.S.?
It just keeps getting worse and worse.
