Well, no progress again today. They will be fixing pipe leaks all day from these quakes.
BTW, the theory that explosion in Unit3 was from SFP3 rather than from Reactor3 may be in error. TEPCO released photos yesterday that supposedly show some water in SFP3, and the tops of fuel assemblies.
http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/
If the explosion had occurred in SFP3, it would be likely that SFP3 would not have walls intact, nor hold water. It would be likely that no intact fuel assemblies would be seen. Video to be released next week. Back to the drawing board on what caused Unit3 explosion. Perhaps the explosion blew out the torus?

Do you trust Tepco to not fake photos and videos of SFP #3?

Good point Bobby.
Report Comment
Without a legitimate international expert team on the ground at Fukushima, we cannot trust any information coming from the professional liars of Tepco.

Those earthquakes could be leading up to a larger one..the pattern is similar to last year in February 2011 if you review the events. Just pray they have the SPF of 3 and 4 protected enough to take another big jolt. Dont even know what to do with Reactor 1 or Reactor 2 or 3–they are too hot to work with for 'carbon' based workers. Or robots either. Reactor 4 is really the only one where we have seen ongoing work..unless you count the workers near the one vent/stack of Reactor 3. That is outside the structure of R3.

jec,
How about another wave ?

Jec: No sane person would continue to operate a nuke plant if they knew that no human or robot could work on it if there was an accident. No sane person would design a nuke plant with SFP 100' off the ground, right next to the reactor. No sane person would authorize the construction of new nukes before studying Fuku to make certain that the obvious design flaws and issues have been dealt with, and that reactors can be rendered safe in event of a meltdown. Yet this happened. Real people continue making these decisions. You must conclude that the nuke industry managers and their government lackies are insane. Can they use the insanity defense to excuse this criminal behavior, when they are arrested and hauled into court? Time will tell.

Meanwhile, back at NHK Newsline…nary a word about the situation at Fuku. Today the news item was almost entirely about No. Korea's misile impotent launch. the other story =was about the government stating the need to restart some reactor, especially Oi NPP. Industry Minister Yukio (remember his interviews a year ago)spoke of the need to restart reactors to meet energy demands. Newsline concluded with weather. No mention of EQs though.

typos: missile and delete =. Yukio Edano…
"Industry Minister Yukio Edano said inspectors had "finally confirmed" the safety of the two Oi reactors but the country was still facing a summer of 'very severe power shortages'."
