Evacuation order to face criticism, Kyodo, Dec. 23, 2011

Japan Times Subtitle: Nuke panel set to skewer regulators, science ministry for hiding SPEEDI fallout data

A government panel investigating the Fukushima nuclear crisis is expected to state in an upcoming report that the evacuation order issued shortly after the accident began was irrational, sources said. [...]

[T]he order led some residents to move to areas where radiation was actually higher and generated mass confusion, the sources said. [...]

The nuclear safety agency and the science ministry had SPEEDI data that could have prevented some of the unnecessary radiation exposure, but decided to sit on it instead of reporting it to the crisis management center at the prime minister’s office, the sources said. [...]

The government panel will investigate past government behavior and will conclude that some government agents should be reprimanded by the government and that changes in government practices and procedures should be designed and implemented by the government, scrutinized carefully and enforced by the government so that this kind of thing will never, ever, ever happen again.

Taxpayers will pay for the panel’s activities, for any implementation costs, for any costs associated with punishing the wrongdoers, and for any remedial damages paid to victims.

And they all lived happily ever after.

the convenient finger-pointing only is finger-pointing from the same individual. you/me/them we have given up all of our responsibility for leading our lives, so is this circumstance supposedly a shock. Compassion to ourselves for our position is required to see who we are and why we are where we are. blame and invective will not allow us to see our own identity and accept ourselves. disease is to be found in a lack of grace toward one’s true place, one’s present place.

“The prime minister’s office received its first fallout estimate on March 23 — or 11 days after the first hydrogen explosion occurred at the Fukushima complex. The estimate was based on data from the government’s special computerized System for Prediction of Environmental Emergency Dose Information (SPEEDI).”

That’s funny, on May 21 the Japan Times reported:

“Crisis center kept in dark on SPEEDI data

The crisis management center was not informed about SPEEDI data predicting how radioactive substances would spread from the damaged Fukushima No.1 power plant, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said Friday.

Edano said the prime minister’s office received a fax containing computer projections of how radioactive materials probably dispersed in the early hours of March 12 — a day after the earthquake and tsunami triggered the nuclear crisis -but that this data was not passed on to Prime Minister Naoto Kan nor himself.”

The prime minister’s office was informed in the early hours of March 12, not March 23. But nobody told the prime minister about the fax his own office received.

More fingerpointing, face-saving and scapegoat-designating bs.

“The prime minister’s office was informed”

We’ve all seen that doublespeak before. According to bureaucrats and msm, “offices” speak or don’t speak, “offices” inform or are informed, “offices” receive or don’t receive information, and so forth.

It’s a familiar cheap trick and much of the time it works on any audience. If anyone pushes hard to find who/when/how/where… they will produce an intern that needs to be fired.

You are a bad order, he criticized. Go to your room.

Never “this human being gave a bad order that put lives at risk, and this particular human being should publicly account for his actions”.

Those found guilty of lying and covering up the danger, if there will be an actual investigation, should be ordered to work at Fukushima in the cleanup.

In the words of Matt Belamy (Muse):

    “Is our secret safe tonight
And are we out of sight
Or will our world come tumbling down?
Will they find our hiding place
    Is this our last embrace
Or will the walls start caving in?

(It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it should have been right
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) To let our hearts ignite
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) Are we digging a hole?
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) This is out of control ….

If we live a life in fear
    I’ll wait a thousand years
Just to see you smile again

Kill your prayers for love and peace
    You’ll wake the thought police
We can’t hide the truth inside

    We must run
    We must run
    It’s time to run
    Take us away from here
    Protect us from further harm”

Of course the Prime Minister is not permitted to see that SPEEDI data until it had gone through Tepco & its handlers & so on until it would look nothing like the original.

The Prime Minister is the first one that needs to answer to the minimum of 5 generations of Japanese & the world for the pain, suffering & deaths that people will go though as a result of not demanding to see that report within hours & order that it be followed. Hmm why didn’t someone from SPEEDI hand deliver it to the Prime Minister?

Corporations can be expected to do exactly as Tepco did. Find the cheapest way to solve a problem. Suffering & deaths only crossed their minds in terms of what the total financial cost would be to the company & its shareholders.

What happened in Japan is exactly what will happen (is happening) around the world in every industry. Deregulation, unenforced laws & allowing studies done by industry to determine the safety standards they will follow. And allowing Corporations to run government.

Quote “- Is There Not Any Men left In Japan Who Will Stand Against The Rising Beastly Inevitability Of Extinction Descending Upon Their Sacred Land?”

We all ask that same question. Although all the government radiation fallout & tests done on food & fish has been taken offline & Not made public, they are STILL being done. The officials & staff are still taking those readings & doing those tests. So they can keep themselves, government & corporate officials & family members protected.

Yet those tests can NOT be done without OUR money. So they are also responsible for not warning pregnant women & children to at least not drink milk & now not to eat fish for example.

It does truly boggle the mind that sooo many people with direct access to lifesaving information have not been screaming from rooftops to make sure the public is made aware. Yes a few have come forward but why not be even louder…I wondered why they didn’t use Occupy for example to get more information out. We all share the info, but there are very few that truly listen unless they hear it from a professional. Like a friend told me, it sounds like a conspiracy theory when MSM refuses to report on it. Well yes it is, but we all know time & again the roll of the eyes or the uncomfortable chuckle we get as a reaction.
