Unit 1, you need substantial revision of the cooling system, MBS Mainichi News, May 12, 2011:
Excerpts from translation by EX-SKF [Emphasis Added]
JNN’s investigation has revealed that there is hardly any water inside the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) and the Containment Vessel of the Reactor 1 [...]
The water level inside the RPV had shown that more than half the height of the fuel rods (4 meters) was under water. However, when the water gauge was repaired, the actual water level turned out to be so much lower that there was hardly any water in the RPV, according to the JNN’s interview with a government source. [...]
There was hardly any water in the Containment Vessel, the source also revealed. [...]
[T]he Containment Vessel is likely to be broken and leaking water.

Can’t they put a little more cheese cloth on top of it and make it stop?

Yea I know it’s not funny.
Best get your seat belts on people.
It’s going to be a long, rough ride.

The U.S. can send over a rescue team of college frat boys. After a few kegs of beer they’ll be ready to help do their part to cool the reactor.
It’ll become a reality show, and they’ll compete doing scary things. How many fuel rods can you move before the steam blasts you?

The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that they quit monitoring.
How can we ever have good science if they quit collecting data?? Unless they do not want us to have all the data with which we can use to prove their technology is lethal.
Sounds like we need to wake up and find our voices.

Oh, they are monitoring but, in another way. I noticed this morning that this week is:
Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week
“If you start spitting up blood…
If you start having swollen lymph nodes in your neck that are persistent…
And who were they showing getting examined?
Children. The children were getting their necks examined.
And a few elderly.

I’m starting to think they know that testing is uesless cause they already have a good idea of the way things are going and how they are going to turn out and it just won’t matter which days saw an increase in iodine 131 cause it’s gonna be insignificant. I think that the day is fast approaching that the earth without large amounts of radioactive pollution will just be a memory.

I’d put good money on the fact that there are a handful of people that know EXACTLY what the rad levels are hourly. Us peons just don’t get to know. “Its safer than a 3 hour flight”. Go shopping.

Public Opinion, the lack of information out there indicates we have a serious problem in North America. It will be easier to tell us all that we have been eating and drinking contaminated food 15 yrs later and not to be alarm of the cancer rate in children, its just global warming.
And if it is so, that we will eat and drink contaminated food and water tomorrow as we just did yesterday. What… What are you going to do tomorrow about it ? Myself, I will post everywhere that allows me to and ask ” What are you doing about it ” ?

The previous leak, which was 8 inches long, was plugged successfully using sawdust, newspaper, garbage bags, and some diaper polymers.
Why not try that again?

Previous leak you mention was outside in a trench….this is the actual steel containment vessel which is now swiss cheese, and buried behind whats left of the cement secondary containment..so..no.

Thanks for clarifying that point.
Why are they even reporting on this apparent leak from hell now? Didn’t they already tell us that they deliberately withheld information from the public so as to not create a worldwide panic? Why are they being so honest with us now, because it is actually way worse than what they are saying?
I’m just curious about this disclosure being made exactly 2 months after this disaster. Could this leak have been going on for two months? Ugh!
Report Comment
Of course the leak has been going on for the past two months.
The ground water table is full of radiation. It is showing up at reactors #5 and #6 – that can only happen if ground water is carrying it over to those reactors.
The only way to stop this global Genesis experiment is to shut down the atmospheric vector. They will soon be forced to consider the underground nuclear option the USA quietly recommended to the Japanese a month ago, i.e., create a bowl shaped depression in the surface underneath the Fuku reactors that will drop them down into it. Fill the bowl with water. Presto – no more atmospheric spreading. Japan will be toast and the ocean will take a long hit until robots can remove the fuel rods.

Got a link to this inf. ??

I would think that when they opened the reactor door and were surprised by how much radiation was present, it would have been a clue in itself that there was some sort of leak. What were the numbers ? 500 million Bequerels (SP?) and 700 + milliseverts an hour coming from the reactor …
Can we say DUH ?
I think that the rods are completely melted, or close to it, I don’t think they can get close enough to do anything . TEPCO said a worker in there would get a lifetime exposure dose in about 15 minuits…
Isn’t this melted mess going to burn through the bottom of the reactor and hit the water table ? Then what ??
They can’t keep peeing on it forever , some long term solution needs to be found. The ocean should not be the ultimate catchment tank for all this radioactivity…
OMG !!!

Assumption, is the mother of all fu..ups.
Arnie Gundersen at Fairwind, was right all along the way, and if I understud the readings right and his comments, its a ongoing criticality(fission) in atleast 3 reactores, if not 4 of them.
This is not good news, infact its showing us that this is on the edge of the abys.
Shitt.
Another thing is, people, its a hole range of radioactiv isotopes that is released into the atmosphere, not only a few isotops, there are several Plutonium isotops alredy in USA(and its accumulating) and Cannada(dont forgett cannada). They are far more dangerous than the Iodine and Cesiums already accumulating.
Its not only the day to day reading that is missing, but soilsamples has to be take regulary, air readings are just a part of it.
Think for a moment on the socialeconomic aspects of the mounting fallout from Japan. On areas like the agricultural sector in a state like California, everything from Wine to Orangejuice. The costs when the day ariwes that nobody will trade with them, because of Radiation.
Thats one of the reasons of this silence and no fallout readings.
But the real danger is that one just fools oneselfs and nobody else.
And the nightmare senario comes the day TEPCO is not capable to be anywhere near the Reactores, and to try acomplish anything senible.
That day is the day I fear above anything else.

That should teach U.S. what happens when you spread du all over the middle east.

Rain water..has already showed low radiation
Milk.. has already showed low radiation
Since milk shows low radiation then the grass should have it.
If the grass has it, then probably the vegetables and probably the live stock has it
We were told it wouldn’t come to the US
It has.
This is still on going.. Layers after Layers..We are in it’s path through the jet stream..
How can this get better, when they haven’t stopped this disaster?
Fear-mongering, no.
Trying to get to the truth, yes.
Trying to get people prepared the best they can, yes.

When people talk about radiation coming from Fukushima to the USA they talk about how the radiation is disperced over the ocean. But if it only takes one tiny particle to cause cancer, so what if it gets disperced….that just means the tiny particles that kill you are spread out over a larger region. A lesser amount won’t make a difference and the trip across the ocean doesn’t change the molecular srtucture of the radiation, it remains as potent as the moment it left Japan. I don’t see time or space being relavent to the question of Fallout.

Uh… no. That’s not the way radiation works.
The “molecular structure of radiation”? Are you serious?! Do you know what makes a particle radioactive?! And yes it makes a huge difference if it is dispersed over an area as large as the Pacific. By the time, it reaches you over in the US, it will not be anymore dangerous than what naturally occurs in your own environment. Bananas contain a lot of natural radiation. Riding on a plane exposes most humans to a lot of radiation. You get your radiation from plenty of worse sources.
Plus the heavier (and more dangerous) radioactive particles will sink and stay near Japan rather than go with the current. The particles they emit (their radioactive emissions) quickly get absorbed by sea water. Once their energy is in sea water, they slightly heat it up, but because there is so much water, this heating up is nothing. It doesn’t even register or alter the ocean temperature in the slightest.
As for their “molecular structure” changing that is good. That is called “radioactive decay” once a radioactive atom has emitted enough neutrons or electrons it ceases to be “radioactive”.
So calm down and do a little research before you go running around screaming that the “sky is falling”.
