Oct. 24 — The science ministry said Sunday “the possibility is high” that the 57.7 microsievert per hour radiation dose detected on city-owned land in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, is emanating from cesium ejected by Fukushima meltdowns, reports Kyodo.

Local residents in the city less than 20 miles from Tokyo are “deeply concerned”.

“This was a place where children always played around. I’m worried about whether the radiation had any effects on the children,” said Shigeru Ono, 74.

    • That’s a cool idea, why not ? What else shall we develop ? It should sum up what you have eaten and alarm if you reached your daily limit — but in what disaster did we went ?? Horrible times…

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM you mean to tell me that when the Goverment and Tepco said “everything is fine, no high levels, low levels , nothing to worry about” that wasn’t true? Oh my! Well probably Tepco hadn’t done much testing cause they were so busy getting the reactors in cold shut down and building the tent. Hmmm so what can we learn from this error? Don’t trust people who don’t know what they are talking about, yeah I think that fits.
Don’t believe people who have an agenda and will lie so that people will follow their advice..”nothing to worry about” Yeah I think that fits too.
Maybe we should learn to do OUR own checking !!!!!
About now you may think I’m being moronic, WELL…I think the folks in north America should understand that they are eating, drinking breathing as much radioactivity as the folks in Japan….
Japan seems a long way away….for an ant it’s very far!
For a jet fighter plane, not as far.
For wind it’s a highway that delivers whatever it contains faithfully around the world with no trouble at all! Japan is NOT far away, it might as well be part of the USA!
WAKE UP! We need to be testing everything! NOW! WE not THEY! Buy a Geiger counter…5 families can use one, that’s 100 a piece!

At this point,…one would THINK that all seafood should be thought of as “Blowfish from a first-day on the job” chef!

I heard that Bob Beckel almost choked to death last week, on a LARGE shrimp. Eric Bolder (sp) another commentator, had to perform the Heimlich maneuver. MY THOUGHT was,…who in their right mind is eating jumbo shrimp? Oh yeah,….right mind,…NEVER MIND!

I worried about those neutrons that geiger counters can not detect.

You won’t succeed, don’t try. Normalcy bias and media influence have blinded everyone. They don’t want to accept news might be untrustworthy, but even if it were, all the details of this crisis are basically under the control of very few high level TEPCO and government officials, which means even if journalists were objective and did their job, they simply wouldn’t be able to get the data. But no one wants to believe that, and frankly, most people don’t care until they see direct immediate impact to themselves.

Just keep reminding yourself you’re not crazy.

I used to react like your best friend many years ago. I could not believe that governments, politicians, news media would skew, lie or cheat when it came to public safety. Well, it took a few “eye openers” before I began to question… The more I questioned the more revealing it became that our great country was being high jacked by the criminal elite media, banksters, politicians, corporations, …

The failed Ponzi scheme of endless growth and job creation is in its final suicidal downward spiral. It’s nothing but a vast pyramid scheme – last in loose. It only works if more and more population is bred into the growing herd and thus more consumers. It is unsustainable. Can’t imagine the social unrest that is bound to arise once more and more people find themselves on the short end of this stick.

Your friend will have to travel this kind of road to see the light and stop following blindly the nightly news.

  • Mayor Of Tokai, Shiga Residents Take Action To Shut Down Reactors

    Oct 24th, 2011
The mayor of Tokai is calling for all reactors at the Tokai plant nearby to be decommissioned. Tokai holds 12 nuclear reactor related facilities and was the location of the first reactor in Japan.

The mayor made his point clear in these comments. “Looking at how Fukushima has been handled, I’ve realized that Japan isn’t capable of controlling the massive science and technology of nuclear power. I’ve come to feel that Japan isn’t entitled to it, and have decided that we have no other choice but to abandon nuclear power,” says Murakami. “The government thinks nothing of the fact that there are 54 nuclear reactors in one of the world’s most earthquake-prone areas. There’s so much egotism, such arrogance against nature in …

  • Fukushima a chance to reform Japan’s mental health care system: WHO
    Oct. 25, 2011 BERLIN —
Japan should use a higher rate of mental health problems after the Fukushima nuclear accident to update outdated attitudes toward depression in the country, a top health official said Monday.
Speaking at the World Health Summit in Berlin, Shekhar Saxena, from the mental health division of the World Health Organization, said the mental aspects of disasters tended to be ignored in the aftermath of a natural disaster.
“Mental health treatment is needed for almost everyone who is affected by the disaster,” Saxena told a packed audience at the summit. “Unfortunately, some neglect occurred.”
Officials have previously warned of an increase in depression cases in a country …

(first post here) Thank you everyone contributing perspectives here, I am thankful to have *a place* to console with the truth on this grave matter.

Working for a major global Japanese fortune 100 company, I am (meaningfully) restrained in public comment. I understand the greater implications of what public discourse on this topic may hold… I can NOT be directly associated to the it.

xdrfox – with you, many – nearly everyone is not registering with this epic event unfolding into and across the globe. Humanity has crossed over into, Mad Max – Blade Runner reality future, which I though was the basis of movies and NOT our actual life realities

My inner conscience / psychic, logic has me in turmoil.
