(Subscription Only) Title: Osaka pref., city gov’ts call for halt to 2 Oi plant reactors
Source: Kyodo News
Date: September 4, 2012
The Osaka prefectural and municipal governments on Tuesday called for a halt to the operation of two reactors at the Oi power plant in Fukui Prefecture ahead of the end Friday of this summer’s more than two-month power-saving period.
[...]
Kansai Electric [...] restarted the Nos. 3 and 4 reactors at the four-reactor Oi plant in July
[...]
In a joint statement adopted at their meeting on energy earlier in the day, the two local governments said the two reactors should be shut down, noting the demand-supply situation for electric power is not so tight and that many Japanese nationals now want a nuclear-free Japan.
[...]
The decision to restart the Oi reactors does not respect people’s wish for a nuclear-free Japan, it said.

Shut down, and decommission all of them now, before it's too late.

yes!, shut down AND decommission every single nuclear reactor in the world. Now.

Yet a little while, to produce electricity, which can be useful for electro magnetic holder hanging on the crane when undressing 3 reactor …

Even since I was born they all have been polluting this earth, and the earth was cleaning it up the best it could.
They started to think they could throw anything at her. We have gotten worse with extremely dangerous polluting and mother earth is finally giving us the finger.
Nuclear Power Plants need to be shut down.

Yep my thoughts exactly, if some none animal things have a soul, certainly Mother Earth does, and she is stark raving mad about that crap we been throwing in her.

actually WSP, humans have been reeking damage on the environment for thousands of years. We've just gotten qualitatively better at it now…

Is this the same Osaka gov that threw people protesting about incineration of radioactive debris, out of a city council meeting?
I sense a great split has occurred in a once unified Japan – at the highest levels.
Good!
Report Comment
Potentially good news, way more details needed.
Does Osaka City Mayor or Governor agree with call to halt?
Temporary halt or permanent?
Deal-making set-up – as in halt the plants, make us look good, we'll push incineration?
Lots of players, lots of agendas…

agree 100% or-well

But, but…. But NISA said that reactors on active fault lines have permission to operate.

We are all hostages of the Nuclear Overlords until every NPP WORLDWIDE is shutdown and fully decommissioned.
Nuclear Power Plants are time bombs. 50 years of supplying some electricity traded for many lifetimes of contamination.
(While a few profited greatly.)
Electrical power that could have easily been supplied by other means had we put our minds to it. I know… could of, would of, should of doesn't help, but it's true.
Had our 'trusted' leaders put an effort into what was 'right' and understood the horrific risks of this technology we would not be having to consider for the rest of our lives and the lives of potential future generations if the water or food we put in our mouths is contaminated.
This is NOT FAIR!
It MUST STOP!

Comment from: http://enenews.com/?p=38516
Regarding the solution to the highly radioactive water in Fukushima:
Because the problem is of Global importance, I suggest that the Japanese Government immediately host a Conference of noted scientists to develop a solution to the pollution to the Pacific Ocean before it is allowed to get any worse! Each day that goes by yet more highly radioactive water is entering the Pacific Ocean at Fukushima and this cannot be allowed to continue!
One solution they might consider is to capture the water and load it aboard large tankers to be slowly pumped overboard as the tanker sails IN A CAREFULLY PLANNED APPROVED route to truly speed up the dilution process by using all the oceans and seas …
As it is now the Fukushima radioactive pollution is creating a dead spot off the coast of Japan due to the concentration of radioactive pollution that continues to be added there and that is far more dangerous to mankind than far, far lower levels spread over the entire Planet.
Note: We all need to always use the words "radioactive pollution" instead of just "pollution" because one is quite different, than the other, ask The Japanese!

Dear CaptD,
Your idea of containment is excellent, but I disagree with your concept of dispersal.
Is there a way for containment 'barges' of sorts?
Oh, for Pete's sake, what a mess! Guaranteed, the persons responsible are not sleeping anymore!!
Let's get to work and do what we can

Great News: Future of fossil fuels: Back-up for renewables
http://wp.me/p26pKF-2Ff
snip
The two largest electricity utilities in Germany – E.ON and RWE – have declared they will build no more fossil fuel generation plants because they are not needed, challenging a widespread belief that the phasing out of nuclear in Europe’s most industrialized economy will require more coal-fired generation to be built.
