各地で6日午前9時から7日午前9時までに観測された最大放射線量は、3~6日と比べ、関東や関西を中心に多くの地域で上昇した。

According to MEXT, radiation levels rose from the period of 9am on the 6th to 9am on the 7th across the Kanto and Kansai regions when compared with the previous 3 days.

Fukushima registered at 0.9 μSv/hr and Ibaraki at 0.087μSv/hr. Aichi prefecture measured in at 0.062μSv/hr which was the highest recording since 3/14/2011. On the other hand, Hokkaido decreased to 0.027μSv/hr.

Note that most government measuring devices are located well above ground level, in some cases on top of buildings. Typically, radioactivity levels increases the closer one gets to the ground. Though the actual measurements are not the focus here — rather the issue is: What’s causing the noticeable radiation spikes that are higher than these locations have seen in months?

  • Look at Tokyo’s increase on Jan 25.

That increase is higher than Aichi’s spike over the last 2 days.

That doesn’t make sense to me.

    Can anyone explain?

    Are these measures reliable?

I would say these readings are conservative at best because they are from government facilities. It could be from the ashes they are burning all over Japan or from Daiichi itself. They way the Japanese government has spread radiation all over the place makes it very hard to know where it is coming from.

All MEXT monitoring stations in and around the greater Tokyo area showed significant spikes in radiation. This includes Tokyo (Shinjuku), Saitama, Kaangawa, Chiba, and Ibaraki.

Yesterday’s M5.1 quake in Fukushima occurred at 8:45p, about 30 minutes after a M4.5 hit nearby.

The rooftop radiation monitors do not reflect the radiation levels at ground level. But they do indicate when new radioactive releases happen. That’s what they were put there for.

How long before Tokyo is evacuated?
Are they practicing for this now?
Has this been discussed lately by the PTB?
Are plans being worked out and implemented?

  • What should have be done a year ago, are they really talking about it ?

  • It was there for some time after march… (there is a video of the fuel bundle crane perched across the lid of the containment. while steam is being vented through the cracks in what appears to be the containment dome / lid).

Many users are confused about the state of reactor 3 right now. I may even be…

    from what I have understood

It is now In my opinion the spent fuel pool is missing. and has been ejected from the reactor 3.

While the containment dome is badly damages and releasing large amounts of decay.

A recent youtube video that has confused many users shows several views of reactor 3 and 4. the user then compares them to each other stating that the Lid is not in the right area in unit three. (as compared to unit 4). However the reactor 4 was allegedly planned to be recommissioned at 4 O’clock in the morning on 311. (see:http://fukushima-diary.com/2012/01/nuclear-fuel-reactor-4/) If that were the case it is very likely that the reactor 4′s primary containment dome was positioned off the primary containment vessel for refueling purposes.

This would make alot of sense. Debunking the containment theories on reactor 3 and give some closure to the sfp argument on reactor 3.

They found plutonium 60 miles from tokyo. I imagine its from the spf. As the core is designed to withstand a nuclear inferno vs. The spent fuel pool which was not.
Also I have a feeling tepco already stated the reactor 3 sfp was empty for hours following the ”obvious” nuclear explosion. Although I am too tired to link search at this time.

News from TEPCO..Reactor 4 “might” have had a partial meltdown. Thats hard to do with an EMPTY reactor..so yes, probably loaded.

One other comment.and this is a terrible thought..those RADIUM bottles..were like metal tubes..what do you want to bet they were really parts of the fuel cells which were ejected? Anyone have a good photo of the “radium bottles?” That certainly makes more sense than someone dropping something with those kind of radiation readings around a grocery store parking lot.
