Title: Interview of Hiroaki Koide
Source: Tanemaki Journal

Translation by Fukushima Diary
[...] Probably the fuel is as melted as mud. It’s attached to everywhere in the vessel, and the place that the mud is attached gets heated. If they increase the water amount, the mud may move and the new place may get heated again.
So some place may get cool but other place may get extremely hot. So other places where no heat gauge is near may be over 100°C.
Even robot can’t get into the vessel. We can not see inside of the vessel for longer than several decades.

So…the reality begins to sink-in. Decades?! It’ll be “decades” before a complete assessment of damage is even possible?! How much will the world have changed in the ensuing years? How will those changes effect the resolution (if it’s even possible) of this problem? Will the resources be there…decades from now?

Decades. If other countries dont learn a lesson from this AND SOON, the Planet will be destroyed. EVERY GOV SHOULD BE SHUTTING ALL REACTORS DOWN NOW!!!

This at least seems like credible information.

The “mud model” has a certain appeal but I’m not convinced. I speculate that such mud would over time tend to accumulate at the bottom because of gravity, rather than reattaching “everywhere”. I speculate also that the mud would over time tend toward homogeneity – fewer hot spots – because of the ongoing mixing from water flow. If there is high turbulence from water flow or boiling, then the mud would tend not to have hot spots, but if there is low turbulence then the mud would tend to settle at the bottom, I think.
The “mud model” seems to imply that the mud is sticky enough to adhere “everywhere”, but not so sticky that it can’t be moved around by water flow – although after it is moved around then it is sticky enough to attach “everywhere” again, but with some spots hotter than others.
Also, if they add several tons of water per hour and if the vessel never fills, then of course it is leaking or the water doesn’t reach it at all. A leaky muddy vessel would tend to leak less and eventually clog the leaks with mud, then fill and overflow, I think, which is not what we think is happening.
I don’t have a better explanation than the “mud model” – I just don’t find it all that satisfying yet.

All the warnings Tacomagroove gave about Fukushima have been spot on.
The fall out will keep coming on the Jet Stream and in the Oceans for decades(?) until that monster over there ever(?) becomes cooled down and encapsulated. We all we be incrementally irradiated from the outside and inside no matter how much we pro-actively take care of ourselves. Karma goes round and round. Look at the
cascading near nuclear catastrophes at multiple nuclear installations here in the
US. Our margins of safety are shrinking rapidly. Our nuclear plants are becoming
brittle (San Onofre) and must be shut down immediately. What will it take for
America to wake up let alone all other countries using Nuclear , this is not
even taking into account the militarization of atomic energy. Lets keep a tab
on the sightings of UFO’s as this is a great psychological indicator of cultural
anxiety. This time around there will be no Savior.

I dont know what it’ll take. We’re just waiting for Fukushima to happen here. It WILL happen. If the Repub’s get in DIEBOLD they will take away every safeguard we have. Then again, under O the EPA is our enemy. That’s why I say A MAJOR REVOLT is coming, doesn’t matter who’s in the WH. Troops are being brought home, not because the WARS are dying down. It’s because we’re moving to High Tech and dont need MANPOWER anymore. The Troops are here for one reason only. I truly believe that.

I think to a certain group, nuclear power is more important than survival. They will not let go of this power until they die. Until they all die.

U.S. NRC didn’t know what to do WRT #Fukushima. http://bit.ly/xCGtB6
1 minute ago
But a trove of emails posted on the NRC’s website shows an agency struggling to figure out how to respond and how to deal with the American public while cutting through what one official called “the fog of information” coming out of Japan.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! THIS AGENCY IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!! I’M SENDING THIS TO ALL MY OFFICIALS AND WH!!
Report Comment
They certainly had no trouble going in front of the president and congress and telling them that everything was under control – did they?
They made public announcements that everything was OK. Why didn’t they tell the public that they were worried and didn’t have any information.
Report Comment
James2, Congress are corporate shills, they have profited from nuclear for decades. Try falsifying information about a nutritional supplement you take for your personal health and see how far they prosecute that crime. Ask Barry Bonds about it.

I’m not going to disagree with you, but I have a hard time understanding how one industry has enough “juice” to shut down 635 people from doing their job of representing the people – and that doesn’t include a similar number on the executive and judicial side.
They must be masters at applying pressure in jus the right way.
Report Comment
Our public officials have been juicing us for way too long and giving the precious resources to their buddies and business partners. It is just sickening how they can suck on the taxpayers nipples and take that limited resource and give it to an industry that lies, cheats, steals, and kills us all in the end. What is the American Way? It used to be taxation with representation. How are the taxpayers represented by the use of precious funds? If any Agency of the Government is breaking the Law, a committee must be formed and action taken immediately. If someone is misleading and falsifying information to a Federal Official it is a crime. It is a crime on America.

Military nukes?

Why did they then hire a nuclear industry trade group to handle all monitoring in the US?
Their actions certainly don’t indicate they didn’t know what the dangers were. They knew – these are more lies.

If this doesn’t show an OUT OF CONTROL AGENCY, nothing will. I just sent it to O and my officials. NO MORE BULLSHIT!!

I do not intend to know the future. I personally do not believe in
Saviors. It seems we are wired to need to believe in them.
It is again one of those human constructs that refuse
to die. We all made this mess and now we have to
live in it and try to live a life of love and kindness.

Sam, I’m not a believer either. The reason the Christian Right is so against evolution being taught in schools is because they dont want to lose their blind followers. Globally, evolution is taught in science courses with NO controversy. Not here…
Report Comment
I believe that this is ‘a hell of a way to boil water’ and that people can believe in whatever or whom ever they choose. I always try to see both sides but when it comes to nuclear I’m a tad one sided. NO NUKES but it seems we have missed the opportunity to end this madness as it seems, it will end us due to arrogance and greed.

Evolution has never been proven in any fossel record and more of a religion then christianty. It takes great faith to believe when there is no proof to show. All of the fossel are complete and no in complete fossel changing into another. Show one fossel doing so if you can find any then that be science.

Maybe if you breed animals… any kind, even goldfish, you would be able to see the evolution which takes place in the world outside of your mind.

I think it’s over. Not only because Fuku is a contaminant that will kill us slowly over the coming years…but because our race has evolved to the point of distruction. We are smart enough to understand the power of the universe, the atom etc. and to use this power for evil. We are not capable of discarding it even knowing that clinging to it will kill us all off. It’s checkmate time for the human race on many levels….we have struggled and now we have commited mass suicide. We have finally figured out how to wipe our race and we are clinging to that and in our delusion we think it contains the power to save us when the opposite is true. There is no way out of this mess, short of a viral infection that wipes out most of the human race and the rest left alive, may want to live and will throw down their power…not needing to kill more. Other than that the world will continue to cling to the power that kills it.

Spot on comment. I agree. There’s no going back. TY MM.

A viral kill of most of mankind won’t work – who will man the nuke plants to keep them cooled? And mine coal to feed the power plants that pump water to the shut down nukes?
Report Comment
This isn’t wipeout of mankind – this is wipeout of all life on earth we are talking about –
There’s a possibility then – since we cannot prove life does or does not exist anywhere else in the universe – that man could wipe out life from existence altogether. This is the truth that the manhattan project scientists knew.
Anyone in authority who is not acting hard and fast in response to this is directly and personally responsible for this outcome.

Perhaps we are all so angry at God for appearing to have abandoned us in our times of stress and need. We often feel so alone and betrayed at times. But, the days will come (if your a believer) that you will ask God why there was only one set of footprints in the sand on the beach. I can only imagine the wording in his answer, but I think it goes something like this. “My precious child, in those time where you saw only one set of footprints, those were the times that I carried you”.
