Stuart Smith, Attorney: It’s very similar to what happened in the Deepwater Horizon [Gulf of Mexico] disaster where these operations are being conducted deep underground in the blind so to speak. They applied for permits to dispose of radioactive and other waste claiming it was safe, now everything is up in the air and the material is leaking into the environment.

Oh, I see. And who gave the government permission to issue such licenses to polluters? I don't remember the people who have to live near this toxic crap ever being consulted as to whether they were okay with that.

The taxpayers of Louisiana should put more effort into bribing – er, *lobbying* their state legislators and regulators. Just paying taxes will not cut it nowadays – that doesn't even put them on the LA politicians' radar.

Louisiana has had no problem pimping out their environment the last few decades for gas and oil production royalties. Politicians can afford to give themselves big raises and hire even more bureaucratic form-stamping, database-feeding underlings to 'protect the environment' for them. Southern Louisiana is one big sewer. I don't even know if its worth saving. Maybe we should just bury it in something like an underground salt cavern.

There never has been such a thing as 100% containment, and there never will be when it comes to storing, transporting or otherwise dealing with nuclear materials. The government and their paid glad-handlers will lie of course and assure you there is no immediate danger to health. Just how many degrees off of "immediate danger" do they dare to go? The sickening of our environment committed by ___[list your choice]______________________ …(the list won't be coming to an end anytime soon.)

Fracking, oil, nukes, pesticides, herbicide, fungacide, coal tar etc…what can we eat, drink, breath that won't kill us?

This mess reminds me of an episode of Lost in Space, Dr. Smith finds a object that when he wears it, everything he touches turns to platinum at first he is very pleased then….even his food turns to platinum and he realizes he would rather have a simple meal than all the wealth in the world.

Does anyone have the list of all the other waste?

Usually Big wheels don't like to get their hands dirty, so there has to be little wheels who can tell what was dumped.

I don't think anyone thought this would happen. Since it has, then there has to be honesty, so everyone knows what they are dealing with.
