Surviving Japan (2012)
Filmmaker: Chris Noland
Transcript Excerpt
Minamisoma city council member Koichi Oyama: I would like to explain something historical to better your understanding. Japan used to be ruled by a king, the emperor.
[...]
Parents and teacher tell children the best thing you can do was die for your country.
Kamikaze pilots in the war embodied this spirit.
In World War II they always told us we were winning every battle.
No one knew about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The same thing is happening now. The current government not telling people what is happening is the same we have had since World War II.
[...]
Keep your country alive by killing yourself.
I think the way to save the children at Fukushima is to get the world involved. If we don’t protect our children now, it will be too late when we are the second Chernobyl.
Not allowing the children to escape is murder.

Sadly, this person's assumption is wildly off….this is already far far worse than Chernobyl. But admitting that is hard…….

'…admitting that is hard…'
This might be the hardest part of all.

"..I think the way to save the children at Fukushima is to get the world involved. If we don’t protect our children now, it will be too late when we are the second Chernobyl…"
hi faraway
i think the above sentence is accurate enough.. the people of fukushima and miyagi etc need to be largely evacuated.. and i beleive there are places in japan for them.. i also think that japan has alot of decontamination of the original big releases in a wider area of japan but with proper monitoring and cleanup of these wider areas japan may prevail..
of course its a call based on the slim evidence we have so far.. i hope you are not right!
in the meantime the chernobyl experiment must not be allowed to continue in japan.. the children need to be saved and this film will help to bring this situation to the mainstream..
talk about egg on their faces.. its going to be interesting how the main stream media reacts to this with the advertising revenues from nuke corp to steer the way.. cant wait!!
should have some fun on enenews with the qoutes from the msm we have accrued even though they are deleting articles to rewrite history again.. lol! enenews has saved the articles and russian web cache should provide the rest
peace

Arc sez…." i also think that japan has alot of decontamination of the original big releases in a wider area of japan but with proper monitoring and cleanup of these wider areas japan may prevail.."
SP: Your heart says yes (cleanup is possible), but your brain says no. It is logistically impossible to cleanup up large radioactive fallout areas. The only solution is to evacuate for hundreds of years. But we know that is so difficult for the Japanese victims to realize flight is their only viable option. But most of Honshu is contaminated beyond cleanup so there is no easy egress to relocate.
A beautiful land destroyed by nucleocrats.

I agree – already far worse.
One problem is that it is ongoing, and no one knows when it will stop.
Another is the lies make it worse, as we can see from this article. Children who could have been saved are being allowed to die painful, slow deaths, for the good of the country that is allowing it to happen.
Every day, I come to a sad time, when I see what is going on.
It makes me angry to think of the reasons why, and the fact that some people have some goal they consider worth destroying all the lives of all these people, but there are no reasons that are good enough to let this go on.
Kamikaze, Heavenly Wind. It was a lie. Today it is more lies. And all it does is protect whatever short term interests the liars have.
They should be tried for crimes against humanity.

Dear GeoHarvey,
I hear you. We must stay active and keep posting. The most difficult part for me is forcing my mind to accept a new reality and remain rational …as my heart is being torn apart.
I believe that if ENENews keeps going, if we all keep inviting others here and we keep diversely/creatively/passionately posting, we might make a difference. We ARE making a difference
Save the children, demand truths, take action, salvage the planet -no more nukes. Don't give up! 'Nite all.
Aloha.

Admitting that this affects one's own mortality..and the mortality of those around you..is painfully hard.
Most of us..shudder at the very thought.
Mr.Oyama is not far away..in a safe environment making comments.
He is there among the people.
He..along with those around him..are being forced to accept their fate.
They are being forced to accept the fate of their children and their children's children.
Watching this truth and suffering by the people is almost unbearable.
No matter how fiercely..I have fought..I consider myself an unworthy witness.

this incident is far worse than Chernobyl! many of the current observations hadn't begun around Chernobyl for years (such as depletion in bird populations and plant mutations and ect…). it is shameful that the world has allowed for this to continue for nearly 15 months already. there is not one good explanation for why the npp's in fuku haven't been encased in a lead tomb.
the chernobyl encasement building needs repairs and the rad levels in the surrounding areas are increasing.

The day of the earthquake their fuel was consumed according to the article cited at an average of 23.35 GWd/t at a rate of 24.07 kg/t for a total of 6.186 tonnes of fuel fissioned.
We can see by comparing the subsets of figures below (see link for full report) that the radioactive particle emission through the air from Fukushima is not only 3.7 times higher than Chernobyl; but, more importantly, 28.3 times more radiotoxic with every breath you take.
~the available reporting is always going to focus on 1/2 truths and even less of the critical facts. I wish the best for the whole of Japan and the future of the world.

SP: that just really is an eyeopener… 28 times more toxic than Chernobyl… From one of our eggheads!
18 billion fatal doses of radiation released… How many still hanging around in Japan? At least a billion we can guess. Enough to kill every man, woman, and child in Japan six times over. That puts a real damper on working in the rice paddies. Or sitting on the 50th floor balcony in a sparkling Tokyo highrise.
Distance in Japan does not favor anyone… Soldiers from America, young babies 600 miles from Fukushima, even the Tepco nucleocrats huddled in their HEPA-filtered executive homes. You are all in immediate peril of death from radiation. The mote in their poorer neighbor's eye that leads them to shun him is not going to save the nucleocrat hypocrites. Kings in their castles will die just as readily and quickly as bums in an alley.
Report Comment
using those figures, that makes it 70x chernobyl, but adding that maybe 80% went into the pacific, that's almost Chernobyl. so when , as it continues as it will, it officially gets to 101% of chernobyl they can say "the worst nuclear accident since since Chernobyl. (I think it already is far in access of this, as per Kevin D Blanch as he says we are waiting for much plutonium to hit the US real soon now).
and, again, if one accepts Jim Stone's thesis that the whole thing has been staged by Isreal & Co, then at least in the 2nd word war (brought to you by the same mob IMO), they knew who the enemy was. and if that is true and if they ever find out, I don't think suicide will be the first thing on their minds.

Will you please steer clear of such stupid, paranoid loopiness. pfft.

Richard, will you please let each of us make up our own mind and not tell us what to think – something you seem to have a propensity for doing.
Report Comment
Saying that this or that theory or POV is poppycock – 'stupid, paranoid, or a crock of shyte', etc. is more like schoolyard name-calling than reasoning or science – it is unsubstantiated opinion – fine, perhaps, for cocktail party chatter, or childish personal remarks/insult-exchange such as one hears on a playground, but it pretty obviously has no place in any dialogue/conversation purporting to deal with actual evidence, reasoning, &/or fact.
Name-calling and insult-hurling are easy and feel good – but they prove/disprove nothing, require no thinking, and actually add no information – just opinion.

Beware of setups, Richard. All sorts of agendas are in play – it's the Internet.
If you can be baited into saying intemperate things then those who bait you (or their surrogates) will try to ban you and your voice could be lost. In sports, the referee always catches the retaliator, not the original perp.
"Jim Stone" is a perfect device for destroying meaningful discussion. Here is an (intemperate) arbitrary example of what discussions of Jim Stone lead to. I assume people exist who would be glad to take this site down such paths, for whatever reasons:

I'm on the west coast maybe I should pack up my family and become a refugee too! It is understandable that the people in Japan may have doubts about abandoning everything to run, WHERE? The only apparent difference between them and me is how much time I have. I don't have anywhere to go, No one else seems concerned. Actually I question how things might improve if we are all running around scared and furious. It will be very interesting when the truth is known, I trust all here have thought about this. I also hold onto hope that we can find ways to survive. Am I naive? How does anyone really know considering the UNBELIEVABLE Lack of information. Every single glass of milk I drink I wonder How contaminated is it? Logic tells me it must be pretty bad. Actually I do feel less healthy, I work outside every day But I am suffering more from the psychological, and emotional distress of being shunned, lied to, and forsaken. It is one thing to steal my $, and poison me, But I just cant stop thinking about my little kids. What will the people do when they have nothing left to lose.

bc: Radiation bioaccumulates.
Trace amounts on the soil in the PNW,
become larger amounts in the grasses,
become larger amounts in cows,
become larger amounts in their milk.
Suggest the least you can do is to pour out the remaining milk in your frig, and buy no more milk from the PNW. Radiation is much more harmful to your children then it is to you. When you move, avoid California dairy products, produce from the PNW, seafood, and (regretably) California wines from approximately March 20, 2011 on. All are now radioactive, and will be for many years to come. So sorry for the expense of moving, but for your childrens sake, move now!
Report Comment
Thanks Philip. I cant Move, this is my home it has been my whole life. Is it not possible To clean this out and put it all in one place, like the pacific ocean for example(unfortunately)? Think about it, of everything there is to know in the entire universe past present and future, how much of it do we humans know? Not much. Everything nuclear is based on lies, so if they say it cant be done then I say maybe it can. It perplexes me that the insiders would destroy the entire ecosystem for millennia. Are they going somewhere else? I get the basics about our situation and have no desire to spend my remaining time reading about radio active decay and bioaccumulation. Life is short, shorter now. There is a chance we can cleanup, albeit small. It starts with STOPPING IT NOW! No offence insiders who are most certainly watching. I'm only human, I will fight to survive.

It is not just Japan & it is not just Fukushima – I'm reading a fascinating book, NUCLEAR WITNESSES – INSIDERS SPEAK OUT – which I found out about here, on Enenews – and Japan's 'lie, hide, and conceal' strategy is not the exception, but rather the pattern, the rule, & has been from the get-go.
This book is so fascinating that it is as easy to read as a block-buster best-seller. Mfy library has it & yours probably does too. (btw I am the first to check it out from HI library system since Feb.2009. Such underwhelming public interest…)

"Licensing a nuclear power plant is in my view, licensing random premeditated murder. First of all, when you license a plant, you know what you're doing–so it's premeditated. You can't say, "I didn't know." Second, the evidence on radiation-producing cancer is beyond doubt. I've worked fifteen years on it [as of 1982], and so have many others. It is not a question any more: radiation produces cancer, and the evidence is good all the way down to the lowest doses." – 'Nuclear Witness – Insiders Speak Out' by
