Wasn't that when unit 4 exploded?
A timeline excerpt from my chapter:
Fukushima reactor number 1 reactor exploded Saturday March 12 after venting failed to release pressure.
On Monday March 14th an explosion occurred at the number 3 reactor. After the second explosion reported on March 15, officials at the Fukushima plant reported “there was no serious radiation leak, but acknowledged they had moved workers for safety reasons as a precaution.”
Furthermore, it was reported at this time that the “containment structures of the three reactors—which house the all-important reactor vessels—remain intact, Japanese official stressed, preventing large-scale radiation leaks.”
Later in the day on March 15, an explosion occurred in reactor number 2. No definitive information about the state of the number 2 reactor was provided. At the end of March, Japanese officials reported to the press that they suspected only a “partial meltdown” had occurred in reactor 2.

Go to http://www.nuclearreader.info to learn all you need to know about radiation. A must read, especially in the wake of Fukushima. Also, there is an excellent book called Radiation Protective Foods by Sara Shannon. I got mine at Amazon.com. This is the most critical threat to health and armed with information is the only way we will be able to stop the insanity. Nuclear power is an absurd way to boil water.

SFP 4 burned up last march
total station blackout meant no cooling, at all
according to reports the reactor was being re-fuelled, which means a new core was in the SFP ready to be moved to the reactor vessel, as well as the core that had just been removed and just to reiterate, no method of circulating cooling.
and you wonder why tepco show no pictures of SFP4 with water in it? even when they installed that metal plate cover.
there is no SFP4

Any idea what the new core contained? Was it Mox or regular uranium fuel?

They say uranium, but I say assume MOX until proven otherwise, and wonder if the reactor was really empty.

Not just Fukushima, but anything "nuclear" is secretive …info is either non existent, or after the fact, when it's too late.
