Follow-up to: Report: Unburned MOX fuel containing plutonium was in mushroom-like cloud of black smoke when Reactor No. 3 exploded
June 14, 2012 post by Minamisoma city council member Koichi Oyama translated by Dissensus Japan:
[...]
[Reactor No. 3's] fuel which base is made of big and aerial carbon soared into the air under the form of particles.
[...]
The footage reportage on TV never showed the image of the falling or the wisp after the explosion. It’s top secret images.
[...]
The black smoke didn’t vanish into air in a twinkle.
A mass of density and high temperature moved towards and fell for several hours. At least there are photos from inside the 30km zone of a visible mass floating in the air.
Both of the white smoke and the black smoke fell until they vanished.
In other words “vanished” means “fallen”.
The radioactive plume which even reached Tokyo might be the mass which vanished and diluted its concentration

Looks like the Sendai oil refinery fire. The news reporters use it all the time when discussing 311. Or they use the Cosmo/Chisso fires in Tokyo Bay.
Here's the Sendai fire from a longer view, and the building to the right matches the first photo posted in this thread:

Sickputer you have a good memory of all the major destructive events that have occurred in Japan.
Would you mind posting a list of some of the major ones, perhaps in the discussion forum?
Then other people can add to the list.
I'm trying to track down all the major fires that could have vaporized uranium and plutonium in Japan.
I have
1. The 2011 Depleted Uranium Storage Facility next to Cosmo Oil in Chiba
2. The 2012 Mitsui Chemical Plant Explosion
3. Fires and water leaks at Tokai, 2011 and 2012
4. ?????
Many thanks!

I have a good memory, but to announce a well-known secret.. Google is even better.
I am a much better researcher than my acclaimed photographic memory (where my flash fails to go off at times). >;->
I was virtually sure the first photo was the Cosmo/Chisso fire. But after searching only a couple of Google Image pages (using the terms Cosmo oil refinery fire) what the heck popped up? A long range view of the Sendai fire. I had only heard of it once or twice before back in the first week after 311. So it was a sleeper tragedy to me like so many terrible events on 311.
I am sick today from the strong winds blowing some invisible migraine hell pellets and I'm just on my iPhone. When I recover I will try to help with a top ten or twenty list.
BTW… My son (a waiter at Chilis) just texted me. He had Japanese customers. His message:
"Just had a guy and his son from japan, he said its "very very very bad" there"

My migraines have been terrible too.
So sorry because I understand how terrible they are!

I saw a news report about 3 weeks ago and they were talking about Fukushima 3/11 but showing video of the Mitsu fire 12

Thanks for that pix Snowy! It shows me how Reactor #4 building has been pushed in by the explosion from #3. I always wondered how #4 became so damaged without its own explosion, but that solves it.

Wasn't there a depleted uranium complex that was destroyed in the disaster in 2011?
(Sunday, July 3, 2011 http://ex-skf.blogspot.com/2011/07/now-they-tell-us-series-depleted.html
"Now They Tell Us" Series: Depleted Uranium Storage Facility Next to Cosmo Oil Refinary In Chiba Burned after Earthquake Hit on March 11)
I wonder if it could be that?
Additionally, the satellite coordinates I posted yesterday (37.236872,141.018029) are apparently from a petroleum based plant that was destroyed
Sickputer offered this link: oil-fired power plant at Hirono
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hirono_Power_Station
If the picture linked from Market Oracle isn't Daiichi, it might be one of these two mega-disasters.

Yes, the Chisso petrochemical plant caught fire next to the Cosmo fire and it took ten days to contain the two fires. Chisso had 765 kg of depleted uranium in that warehouse fire.
The first photo was the Sendai oil refinery fire i am 100% certain.

Professor Andrew… That's some fine engineering drawings you have for your engine. They might need you to help design something for a containment structure at Fukushima.
I'll take a 16-valve version of your engine in a new Camaro please. >;->
Take care… We need great thinkers here from all disciplines.

Previously I had help when it was hot. Option instead of water from the helicopter……
http://www.powermag.com/blog/index.php/2011/03/14/a-short-history-of-nuclear-power-in-japan/
and another one…:
Fukushima:
"Gundersen: Slowly over the last couple of weeks the hydrogen has continued to build up inside the containments…
It’s coming from the bombardment of water from all the radiation that’s in the core. So a radioactive particle that’s just h20 splits to crank out the hydrogen.
It was incredibly low, now it’s up to about half a percent hydrogen.
So the trend is worrisome.
It has to get to 4% though… before it explodes.
So there’s still a margin to prevent an explosion.
So the trend, why is the hydrogen going up, is worrisome…"
Can hydrogen be requested to give away progressively by using such a method, similar to the disposal of teh hydrogen when charging?
http://bater.pl/en/recombination-plug
Anything to the atmosphere, you don't need to sit in the application of this method. Everything is in the reactor, and the hydrogen is not…
Nothing to allow passage to the atmosphere.
I'm trying to help, as I..
Andrew
to Camaro is better. Works without oil…
