KORIYAMA, Oct. 27 — A local TV channel in Fukushima Prefecture reported on the extremely high radiation detected in front of “one of the major stations in North Japan” located in Koriyama, reports Fukushima Diary’s Mochizuki.

“The radioactive contamination is in a shrubbery in front of the station,” according to Mochizuki, “The color of the trees were changed.”

The news said the radiation dose was as high as 80 microsieverts per hour, though the Fukushima Diary post reveals, “Before they came, a station staff measured it. It was 120 micro Sv/h.”

The reporter warns not to go near the area.

Hrmm…there must be some bottles of radioactive paint buried there. Quick J-gov get to burying some there to cover up!

Whats the issue again? Isnt the “safe” level 121 microsieverts per hour?

Yes, the safe level is 121 microsieverts per hour..

That isn’t two periods on my statement above. The second dot is actualy a copy of the official Japanese Governments disclosure statement they make concerning ‘safe levels’ of radiation. It reads, “Pending upward revision based on further higher readings”. You need a special viewer to read it.

Radioactivity in Food: “There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water or other sources. Period,”

      by Physicians For Social Responsibility
      October 27, 2011
“According to the National Academy of Sciences, there are no safe doses of radiation. Decades of research show clearly that any dose of radiation increases an individual’s risk for the development of cancer.
“’There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water or other sources. Period,’ said Jeff Patterson, DO, immediate past president of Physicians for Social Responsibility. ‘Exposure to radionuclides, such as iodine-131 and cesium-137, increases the incidence of cancer. For this reason, every effort must be taken to minimize the radionuclide content in food and water.’….
“’Consuming food containing radionuclides is particularly dangerous. If an individual ingests or inhales a radioactive particle, it continues to irradiate the body as long as it remains radioactive and stays in the body,’said Alan H. Lockwood, MD, a member of the Board of Physicians for Social Responsibility. …
“Recent reports indicate the Japanese disaster has released more iodine-131 than cesium-137. Iodine-131 accumulates in the thyroid, especially of children, with a half-life of over 8 days compared to cesium-137, which has a half-life of just over 30 years. Regardless of the shorter half-life, doses of iodine-131 are extremely dangerous, especially to pregnant women and children, and can lead to incidents of cancer, hypothyroidism, mental retardation and thyroid deficiency, among other conditions….”

“extremely dangerous, especially to pregnant women and children…”

“every effort must be taken to minimize the radionuclide content in food and water…” – Jeff Patterson (sounds good)

However, almost no effort is being done by the agencies which should be doing it.

The ‘experts’ motto: “These levels are of no concern…”
My motto: “We have been and are being deceived.”

the shrubbery looks green to me… the gieger reading i saw was about 70 milisieverts…the higher reading must have come from very near the plant

question… what is the type of plant and what sort of soil is it planted in and when (plants look new)?

another question…if they move it very near to the plant and get double readings, does that give evidence of strong alpha or beta emmissions…i know soeks geigers read beta and gamma?

  • I sure it is just some of that ‘harmless’ and ‘safe’ radiation that the government and nuclear industry keeps talking about…

Onwards, and upwards, keep building those nuke plants. Keep pumping out that radiation. Breathe deep, eat hearty folks. Ann Coultier says more radiation is good for whatever ails you.. the more the merrier.

Why not start tours of the nuke plants and let people take a bath inside the reactor.. nice warm water, lots of ‘healthy radiation, good steam bath.. all the things Ann Coultier says is what is needed.. Send over all of the sick, lame and diseased. She says they will all get better.. and the healthy will get even healthier.. wow…. such good news.

No need to bury nuclear waste anymore. Now we can sprinkle it on breakfast food and steak.. glow in the dark sprinkles coming to a grocery store near you soon. How about some radioactive toothpaste; kill all those pesky germs.. How about some radioactive bed powder; no more pesky lice, mice or spiders.

Anyone want to send me a couple billion dollars? I will start this up right away, and advertise primarily on Faux News, cause they deserve all the credit for this really great idea. I will offer all Faux News viewers FREE samples, as much as they want.

    Exposure rates in milliSieverts
    1.74 per Day,
    636.41 per Year,
    38184.7 per Lifetime

Exposure triggering Mandatory Evacuation for Chernobyl (EMEC) was @ 500 milliSieverts per Lifetime

That station is ~ 76 times the EMEC

    Some happy news:

It was a beautiful day here so I rode the motorcycle to work. When I got home, my cat was glad to see me. Right now, that’s enough.

    Now the rest:

This morning when I woke up at 5:10am I was covered in sweat and have no idea why. I felt like I just ran a marathon. Still have the sore throat and continuous headache like many people do in Florida right now. It is not sinuses as my nose is clear. Anyone else on here feel this way?

    • Blown Camaro,
You may be dehydrated and that could be the headache you have if you were sweating during the night, fruit juices such as white grape (get concentrate 1.69$) will help, there is something going around like a light flue bug but not severe, many people I know in my hood have shared in more ways then one,Voice/physically) give it a day or two, wash hands every hour if out and about, (keep hands away from mouth, eyes, nose) grab some 2,500 B12′s for about 3$/ 60ct. at a dollar store it will give you energy and it will not harm your system.
My white cat come running when I ride up home on my M/C too !

      : )

I’ve felt like this since May. I have a job where I have to talk pretty much constantly on the phone in a way where I project my voice rather than talk normally, that could explain the throat, but it doesn’t explain the other symptoms AND I have made a point of staying in (with the windows open whichever way the wind isn’t blowing) when I don’t need to be out and about. I will try B12, I was vegan for a long time and that does mess with your body’s ability to deal with B12 afterwards even if you are eating things with it in. TY Dr.

In reply to the original article, is there a database anywhere of KNOWN hotspots so that people can avoid them? Surely that would be a good resource especially for people in Japan in the thick of it?
