About 565,000 pounds of oiled material from the Deepwater Horizon spill was brought to the surface by Hurricane Isaac [...] oil that is still below the surface of the gulf [is] believed to be equal to about 1 million barrels. [...]

Oil has showed up on at least 660 miles of Louisiana’s shoreline [...]

“They want it sunk,” Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser said. “It’s out of sight, out of mind, and we continue to see that.” [...]

[Grand Isle] Mayor David Camardelle said the city has not received the manpower needed to clean up oil that has washed ashore, including a tar mat he described as “big as a school bus.” Some of those who have been sent to clean up have had to be hospitalized with breathing problems, he said. [...]

    Houston, We Have a Problem.

They made it toxic, because they wanted to hide it. Hiding things under the carpet doesn't work, it eventually works itself up.

How was the amount of material weighed?
Is that suypposedly all of it?
I doubt that this old oil mat has much to do with the fresh sheen seen further out.

That nasty Corexit, who knows what kind of nasty toxic stew they have created trying to put a band aid on oil spewing from fractures on the sea bed floor. JMHO

Oil Spill Causes Short-Term Damage to Rat DNA, Implications for the BP Gulf oil spill?

“The new study of rats shows a direct link between respiratory exposure to compounds discharged by the fuel and damage to genetic material. In order to analyse the possible alterations to the DNA and its repair processes, the researchers took blood samples from each animal and carried out cytogenic tests.”

from a school-book in future times:

"a new-type of whales was evoluted in the year 2012 in the gulf of mexico.
big as a schoolbus and made from a mixture of raw oil and corexit.
it was at the same time also the last whale which was caught from the *NISHI MARU*, till this day.
japan thereby lost finally appetit on every other whale catch research"

    hm,
    alles scheisse.
while writing these words my mind imaginated the song "teardrop"
onto something that sounds much more sad as a simple teardrop…
    TARDROP

    http://youtu.be/TN6YSXO2L5A

(WHUT? that wasn't angela merkel who was singing it?)
("she was young and needed the money?")

    ;-)

    memo @ all :
imaginate what will be happens when that tardroped schoolbus will enter one of the plastic-carpets.
the biggest should now have the size from 2 x usa,
    aight?

    update:
if the tardroped schoolbus meets "SYNTHIA"
    (the cloned & synthicle oil-eating…whatevers)…
…it will have a brain too.

    geil,
    thats will be real strange:
a tardroped schoolbus with a bacterium-sizes brain swims with a plastic-pearls-cape (that will have a doubble size of the usa)
in the gulf of mexico and doesn't know,
what he is and what he gone could do now.

if in a few years the radio-nuked water from the pazific had flown into the gulf of mexico the radioactivity will just need a little time create something realy special from it.

    wetten dass?
